I will be actively looking for another practice. I have been with this office for about 20 years…read moreand for some reason, I cant even get an appointment. I was sent half way across the earth to thier other office in Lansdale. I live five minutes from them. I can remember a time when i did not feel well and I was seen the day I called. I am not one to complain about a wait because I totally understand they are squeezing me in but at this point they cant squeeze anything. I am sure my absence will not make a dent in thier practice. Obviously, they have plenty of patients now so I will now atively look elsewhere.

I like the fact that there are multiple doctors available, and that it was within walking distance…read moreof my old house. I have been through 3 different doctors in the ~ 6 years I have been there which does not bother me, but may bother others. Small issues started a couple of years ago when visits started taking more than an hour. Bigger issues now. Called several times and was on hold for more than an hour before being disconnected. Now I am on a drug which is on back-order. The pharmacy faxed them 3 times and has not received a response. Also they wanted me to wait 2 weeks for an appointment and would not renew my blood pressure medication until I saw them. After an hour of arguing, they gave me an appointment the next day, and told me how lucky I was that they were "accommodating me". After seeing the reviews here, I realize at least I am not alone.

While Dr. Ecker seems compassionate his laziness will kill you. His response to a symptom of a fatal condition was "interesting".

However, if you have a disorder that continues to change in your body or if you do not know what is wrong in your body, it is a HORRIBLE place. A lot was happening at the same time, so I will separate the events into two categories of care and you will be able to see how the events matched up from there. Receptionists: Some of them may remember you and be personable, but most of the time they have different people at the front desk than I have seen before. Before Einstein took over there, I could at least count on the receptionists to know me. They were very nice and always seemed to know how to comfort me. I could also count on the person who answered the phone. He would always get my messages to the doctor quickly and CORRECTLY! Once Einstein took over, it seemed like every time I went, there was someone new learning to sign me in at the front desk, which not only took away from the norm and comfort I came to expect, but it made the signing in process take a lot longer. When you are sick, that is sometimes a VERY bad thing. Because I always had good service in this area of their office in the past, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to wait until they found their receptionists. After a year of waiting, I gave up on my hopes that they would find more good people and came to expect bad service. They lived up to this as they refused to give me a physical in the summer (which is not their busy season) even though I had quite a few questions to ask the doctor about my disorder and I needed to update it at work. I had to go to CVS minute clinic for it. After another year, when my work required it again, I finally got booked for my physical at the office. I was finally able to check my cholesterol again (which had been high in years past) and it was very bad. When I called to ask questions about these results, the girl on the phones got my message to the doctor wrong twice. Once she finally got the message right, I got the run-around. Even though my cholesterol was that bad (and probably was for over a year), I had to wait a few months before they would even answer my questions! THEN, when I decided to leave the practice, I requested all of my records. They told me that the company that handles this only comes in once a week and that I would get a phone call from them telling me how much it would cost me before sending them to me. Two weeks later, I got my records in the mail with a bill for $82. I would not have minded paying this amount if they had called to warn me of it prior to sending me them like they said they would! Einstein has a LOT to sort out on the logistics side of this office! The Doctors: I went to this office since my mom chose it when I was a child. So, when it came time for me to choose my own office, I decided to stay with them. They had always been great in the past. I have since found out that is only because I only had routine visits in the past! A few years later, I began having a lot of physical issues and some mental issues with my body. My normal doctor did not think anything of it. So I tried a few others in the practice. Finally, one of my physical symptoms got so bad that I needed a night appointment. That one doctor finally told me I may have a serious disorder. She ordered a few tests and referred me to a few specialists. The results: I did have that serious disorder. That doctor no longer works at that practice. Now I have to cope with having this disorder which means I need to pay attention to even the smallest changes in my body to make sure my disorder does not get worse. This is the point at which they refused to give me an appointment for a physical! With such a disorder, I need to be extra sure I stay up to date with things like physicals and such. I was denied that care! When I finally did get to see a doctor, she dismissed quite a few things that were wrong with me. For instance, I have a rash that shows up on my body frequently. She found it on my stomach (after I told her it was usually on my arms, stomach, and thighs) and asked if I have eaten anything different lately. When I said that I hadn't, she ruled out food allergies and proceeded to ignore the rash! This was not the only instance like that. I usually felt rushed out the door because of things like that. Luckily, my insurance does not need referrals, so I was able to rule a few things out myself, but when those symptoms did not go away, I ran out of things to try. I thought I was going crazy. I began to think that was just how the health care system worked. After they gave me the run around the last time, I finally decided to give up on the practice because now none of the doctors were working for me and the receptionists were not even able to keep me at ease as they had in the past.
