I walked into the office maskless(the mask craze has been taxing as I've been dealing with some PP…read moreanxiety) and I didn't see any mask required signs, nor was my bare face addressed my the check-in staff. I was greeted by smiles and small talk. After I was taken back to the exam room, the doctor came in, asked me where my mask was. I told him I preferred not to wear one but since I needed to be seen for a puncture wound, I put one on. No big. As usual(and as I relayed to him), my anxiety started kicking up a notch, but instead of addressing the problem at hand and getting me out as quickly as possible, he decided to ask me about my fractured ankle(I'm in a boot, completely unrelated). Then started asking me if I plan on getting vaccinated. I was uncomfortable the whole time. He was short and condescending, then gave me a lengthy, unsolicited lecture on why I need to get vaccinated. And how he "had" his wife get the jab in her first trimester of pregnancy(as if she didn't have a choice). Mind you, I'm just here to make sure my puncture wound isn't infected... It was all very unsettling and it actually took me a day or two to stop replaying the whole thing in my mind. He showed zero regard when I expressed my concerns, it actually felt like he was blowing it off. My search continues for doctor with a little empathy. P.S. If wood paneling stresses you out, do not visit this office.

I ran right into these bedside manners the other reviewers were talking about in their reviews. The lady receptionist/intake is very nice though I'm going to leave her out of this.

It has been a struggle to find a good primary physician in the area that can take the lead with my…read moreteam of doctors, until a friend referred me to Dr. Rosen. I'm so glad that I decided to go to Dr Rosen's office the first time that I did. She is excellent at her job and has definitely exceeded my expectations as a primary care physician. Dr Rosen is also organized and professional. Her staff is friendly and efficient. And the space is clean, comfortable and convenient. I can't imagine anyone having negative experience.

Very disappointed with the customer service at Elkins Park Family Medicine. I called to schedule an…read moreappointment and was met with significant disrespect and a lack of professionalism. I've been experiencing increased symptoms associated with diabetes (to which I have both a maternal and paternal history of this diagnosis). I called to request bloodwork to rule out the condition. I spoke with two individuals--I was told they couldn't see me for 1-2 months, because time has to be open for "sick" patients. I wouldn't be requesting the appointment if I wasn't feeling sick. The woman then went on to say that I've only been there four times since 2018 (I'm not sure how that's relevant?). The reason, of course, is due to how difficult it is to get an appointment. As a result, I've generally gone to urgent care when I have a cold, etc., as I know I'll be seen in a reasonable amount of time. My PCP is Dr. Rosen, who I've only seen once (my first visit), every other time I've been with Dr. O'Brien. Both doctors are very kind. I am a Psychologist; regardless of how good I am, clients must be met with respect by the staff that is the first point of contact. They are a representation of your practice. I will now be changing my primary care physician. Highly recommend that office staff receive professional development in effective, compassionate communication.

I had a physical done here. You have no way of accessing your results yourself. They do not email…read morethem, or have an online portal. You can only get them from someone on the medical staff calling you with them. When the representative called they said all the results were good/normal. When I pressed about the blood sugar results it turns out I was actually in prediabetic range. I'm not sure how this could be considered normal or "good". Also, I would have never had known this had I not specifically asked to have the exact number. My doctor, while there, also made sexist comments about my name. Also while there during my visit, certain results from tests that did not need to be sent off had been thrown away. My doctor literally retrieved documents from a trashcan to consult me on.

I don't excel at the art of the long term relationship (except for my husband, of course!). In fact, I have been referred to as a "fickle pickle" on more than one occasion. 2. I'm kinda picky, especially when it comes to any situation where someone may have to touch any body part of mine. 3. Especially in these times of managed care, you don't really get to know your doctor - and for me, bedside manner is just as important as the origin of the diploma hanging on the wall. Dr. Silver is exceptional - no ifs, ands or buts about it. If you need an appointment, his wonderful staff will find a way to get you in. If you call the Doctor, he'll call you back quickly, even if it means he has to stay late to do so. I've never felt like he was rushing me out during an appointment, and he is friendly, smart and has an awesome sense of humor (a good thing when you're not feeling so hot). My husband goes here and he was the first doctor to see my daughter after she was born. I trust him - and I don't throw that word around lightly. He's affiliated with Abington Hospital, which is the only hospital I would ever return to voluntarily (the food's not that bad there - honestly!) Dr. Silver is so great that it's almost a shame that I'm as healthy as I am, because I only see him a couple of times a year lately...wait...is that a sniffle coming on???

When I returned for my rescheduled appt. the front desk assistant had to confirm that the doctor…read morewould see me. Said the dr had a family emergency. They quickly confirmed that the doctor would honor my appointment and checked me in. An hour later I confirmed that my insurance had not been billed and informed the office manager that I would be leaving and there's no need to reschedule me as I will not be returning. I further explained that it was not only the confusion and the wait from this present moment, but also the rescheduling of the appointment prior to this one under similar circumstances. Everyone goes thru things and life is an equal opportunity asshole, but I can't begin a relationship with a professional I need to be able to trust and depend on with such a startlingly rocky foundation!

And Erica the M.A. keeps me coming back - she's amazing! HOWEVER, since they joined Jefferson, oh my god. This place is awful. Long hold times (or phones shut down for long periods.) Longer wait times for an appointment -- I mean long (months)! Even for things requiring immediate attention. I've been forced to go to Urgent Care twice this month alone. I don't want to see some stranger at Urgent Care. I want my family doctor! I've referred 5 family members who are experiencing the same. Sadly, I'm forced to give them a 3.
