I've been to many different gyms across the world, and this gym has everything you'll need to get your pump in. The gym itself is consist mainly of 2 floors, however, has a sub-levels between the floors. There is a cardio floor (with about a dozen various treadmills and cardio machines); on that same floor there is an open room for exercises. The main floor (when you enter) also has about 5-6 cardio machines, but has a lot of your machines for back exercises (lat pull downs, low row, etc.) with several machines for chest as well. The bottom floor has all the free weights. The benches are not ideal, but are enough to give your gym rat what they need to do their workout. There is a locker room each for males, and females (the gym will give you a key and lock to temporarily hold your belongings). Overall, great gym. I would definitely come here again, anytime I'm in Prague. BTW, the gym is easy to miss - it is along the main Wenceslas Square; the entrance feels like you're walking into a private hotel/apartment, and you have to walk downstairs to get to the front counter of the gym.

It's clean, seemed pretty new and wasn't crowded when I went at 11:00 am. Can't attest to how crowded it is during the mornings and evenings. Not sure if this is the standard for Czech gyms or just Fitness Kotva, but you have to have an extra pair of clean shoes just for the gym. You cant work out in the shoes you walked in with. A bit weird for me, but I complied. You must also have a towel with you and can rent one for 45-50 crowns if you don't have one. There is a 100 crown cash only deposit for a key to a locker and the day pass fee was 180 crowns (about $9.00 USD) which is pretty cheap. This gym is located on the fourth floor of the Kotva department store. Walk into the store and take the elevator up and the entrance will be on your left when you exit. If you're working out outside of store hours, there is a side door that will connect you directly to the elevator.

State of the art equipment, nice hardwood floors, towel service and complimentary bottle of water (not sure because I was a guest at the Buddha Bar), great views, and a good looking crowd. Personal trainers and a great, knowledgeable staff. If I lived in Prague I would definitely join this gym--definitely look forward to returning here on my next visit.

First off if this is your first European gym session make sure to wear in your street clothes and pack a back pack of "gym shoes" and gym clothes. They do not let you wear street shoes into the gym. They consider this un-hygienic. This particular gym you enter then you have to take your shoes off immediately after the reception area. Next you walk barefoot or in socks to the locker room where you have another locker that you put your clothes into. Now your finally ready to work out! The gym equipment is fairly older and not a huge variety but enough to get the job done.

I haven't been to the organized classes yet, but there are a variety of possibilities as well as messages and a sauna. Most of the staff speaks English and are very nice and helpful. They have timetables etc. available in English as well. All the gym equipment isn't state-of-the-art and they don't have every possible machine under the sun or every kind of class available at all hours of the day, but otherwise I don't have any complaints.other than that my impression has been very positive. If you've just moved to Prague or are just passing by and want to hit the gym, this place is the best I've found for that purpose. They also have a small play-area for kids by the reception.
