You pull in and follow the sign that points to the scale for cans only to be told no, cans are across the street. I go across the street and deal with the gruff employee who can only grunt two words at a time. He weighs my cans and hands me a sheet of paper. I try the two entrance doors to the North of where I am, both are locked. I have to ask some random customer there to sell a junk car what to do with the paper. He tells me I need to take it back across the street in order to get my cash. For God's sake All Recycling, how about a sign or two explaining your asinine process? Or better yet, how about you train your employees a bit better?

But I walked in the door and was immediately greeted by several really nice people who treated my meager destruction needs with respect and importantly very reasonable pricing. There are a few other companies that do this in the Denver area but all of the others weren't interested in me as I wasn't a corporate entity. The representative explained what would happen to the electronics and if any data was stored, it would be erased and they could not be responsible. She then said to pull around and someone would unload everything. The process took less than five minutes.

The employees will grab the items and you are on your way. The folks at TechnoRescue were very friendly and didn't bat an eye at all the "techno trash" I had. Two desktop printers, circa 2010, a laptop with docking station, an old modem, two monitors, and a very old phone answering machine (circa 1988 maybe). We had some old copper coolant line to recycle and, after a few calls, this facility offered a good…read moreprice. Google Maps sent us right to the location. I was a bit confused about where to enter as there is not a clear sign, but you want to turn into the large driveway just north of the brick and metal warehouse with the DENVER METAL RECYCLING sign. Stay to the right as you go up the driveway and park as close to the second large warehouse entrance as possible. If all of the spaces are occupied, follow the Exit sign around the far edge of the yard and you'll find additional parking against the fence. Once you've parked, grab one of the various carts and load up your materials. Get in the line by that second warehouse entrance. You'll come to a gentleman operating a floor scale. He'll check your ID, weigh the items, and give you a receipt. You then walk back to the first warehouse entrance and go in the small door where you'll find the cashier. You give her your receipt and she gives you any change that's due, then directs you to the ATM in the corner of the office where you scan your receipt and receive your cash. This is a busy operation, but all of the staffers were friendly, efficient, and helpful. We grabbed a cart, loaded up our items, had a short wait in line for the scale, weighed in and got our receipt, walked to the cashier, and soon had a very reasonable amount of cash. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was a very pleasant and professional experience. Just watch out for forklifts!
