(Thinking shallow well/drought .. ypu name it.) After they came out and fixed one issue the owner contacted us later in the evening to ensure things were going well. When a few days later we were back to no water again, they again came out immediately. Our issue was... something. Lol. It Involved a lot of work to figure it out. And, it was all done to avoid a new well. (Process of elimination). My husband ended up helping the owner and his main man with lots of digging and tree removal, and they were extremely thankful. The three worked together so well and honestly, It was a beautiful thing to watch the three Sharing each others knowledge and strengths. Eventually, They were able to determine our issue and fix it. Their honesty is immeasurable, for they could have simply stated a new well was needed by this point. Again, the owner reached out to us a few times after the work was done to make sure all was still working correctly. These two were friendly, humorous, went above and beyond. Returned our initial inquiry telephone calls promptly!! Their pricing was very fair and reasonable. Sympathetic, jovial, hard working, personable .. At that…read moretime we only used the house as a vacation house, so when he explained that I needed to run the system for a day or two, I did. Over the last 5 to 6 years it has gotten worse. I have a spin down filter and a 5 micron filter that builds up with this sediment and clogs every few days. When I called him he said he would be there at a certain day, and did not show up. Called back and he promised to come on another certain day. Didn't show. A few years ago I hired him to drill a well in a rental near me. When I went there to see how it was going for me, he verbally berated me. Never understood why. Must have been frustrated by an issue he was having, which caused him to call Somerset Well Drilling. He told me that he had to share the profit. After speaking with drillers over the past few years I understand the problem is the screen or filter that was used at the bottom of the well. It was too large, that in my area all the drillers use a smaller screen. He should have know this. Obviously, he is still angry with us, but his refusing to come out without without telling us is unprofessional. Had a new home built and Mel's Wells was hired to install a new well. Upon watching them install…read morethe well I noticed they were going shallow with the well, roughly 30'. I explained to Mel that the other well on this property as well as the neighbors had to go deeper in order to find good water without iron and other contaminants. While talking with Mel I was pretty much given minimal attention and a type of disregard and was explained that the water at 30' was just as good as deeper and that because of expense a deeper well wouldn't be installed. So now fast forward to the past year and I have water that turns brown when washing clothes with detergent, pool water from the well that turns brown when chlorine shock is applied and now have to pay for a deeper well to be drilled. If Mel would had at least listened to me and went deeper while he was here and I explained the situation to him about all the wells in this area maybe my water would be able to be used for washing clothes, drinking etc. Instead however I was brushed off and honestly Mel had a abrupt, rude attitude. I would not recommend him to anyone for a residential well because he only comes to do the bare minimum apparently regardless of water quality. I even had my water tested by the state of Delaware to confirm the continents. Mel's wells is a big NOPE for me!
