Philly cheesesteak with Fries
Todd P.

First I wanna say I didn't realize I hadn't finished this review from a while back. I go here to watch the Steelers games when I can. This is a great place to watch the game, eat chicken wings, and drink some draft beer for under $20 if you are looking to be frugal. The atmosphere is really cool. There are people playing volleyball in and outside while others are watching the game, hanging out with friends, and making new ones. The service lacks because you have to order at the usually crowded bar. Thankfully they do have food runners so you can go back to your seat and wait for the delicious food and tasty beverages.

Menu

Wings are large and delicious. Staff is friendly. Has volleyball outside along with plenty of seats outside.

Club sandwich with fries.

I went to my R Place pub today. Tried their new menu. Firstly..let me put this out here im picky. Just because im a control freak. Lol. I go here often. They know im picky. I typically used to go with the same old burger or wings...too nervous to try anything different. Their smash burgers on the brioche bun are reliable and tasty. Wings too. So once I read the new menu and seen the new variety I was excited. I was also excited to sit under the new patio area with covered seating. Cool and nice. So...I ordered the club sandwich and had fries. I asked for my fries plain. Typically they are seasoned. I have to say I was nervous my Texas toast would be burnt. But soooooooo pleased it was cooked to perfection..the color was so right and buttery toasted. The flavor was there. The Pubs version of a club is just 2 pieces of toast..so dont fuss if you want 3. I personally would have liked the turkey warm and not cold. But I think thats a preference issue. But....there wasn't a bite left. So I got over it quik. You really need to come back to this cozy bar if you found yourself leaving due to past experiences. They have grown A LOT. You can't learn to be better unless you made mistakes. I think they are starting to adapt very well into this new version of themselves. I wasn't disappointed. Im excited to try something else next time i visit.

My wife and a couple of our friends came here on a Saturday night about 10 o'clock. There was like damn plan and that was nice to see the head really cheap beer which I enjoyed. Got plenty of draft beer for a good price. They had shuffle boards in pool tables and I'll kinds of fun things to play. We enjoyed ourselves, and we will be back.

Great food and great staff. Must come check out the new R Place Pub. New owners are great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered the jumbo wings with the spicy honey bbq sauce, which were delicious, my friend had the chicken sandwich. Had to pry it from her hands just to try it. Fantastic. Also it's a Steelers bar if you are into that kind of thing. WHO DEY!

My son lives in neighborhood, Says Volleyball courts are great in warm weather. Good sports bar, several beers on tap ( no micro brews). He says wings are great. Can't wait to come back in warm wear weather

I could use an extra dollar for my video games!

Bad bad food. No table service, terrible acoustics to listen to a band, no updating since early 2000s...

We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.

It's creative with a sense of joy, irreverent, one of a kind. And I'm happy to see it last in its spot next to Slugger Field. I got to visit recently when a bunch of friends were in town. We ended up visiting during trivia night, which added a fun twist to the experience. Our team, The Electric Sheep, got second place! And along with the fun vibes, we had great food and beer. I got The Smokehouse OG, which is its pulled pork sandwich served on a Cuban roll. If you like pulled pork, you'll like this sandwich, though typical to their fashion, AtG puts a twist on it with its Brown Note BBQ Sauce. We had to get the pork belly on a stick -- a menu fave. And for my beer, I tried the El Nopal Mexican lager (cracked up at the name) and Cold Ass Beer red ale. AtG is a Louisville original that's not to be overlooked.

I got the burger in special, the Dirty Burger. Pretty standard burger dressed with their "not so secret" sauce and fancy pickle. Super solid, very well executed. In the words of Samuel L. Jackson, this is a tasty burger! The location is pretty tough to beat with how convenient it is, and how close it is to all downtown has to offer. The atmosphere is industrial but relaxed. The staff was so wonderful and personable. Will definitely be back!

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

I was going to a UofL women's basketball game and I FINALLY was able to make it here. I went a little overboard on the food, but everything sounded so good! I really loved the pork belly slider and the duck tacos. Mac and cheese balls always slap. Then there are the famous duck fat fries. The portion is substantial, I was thrilled with that. Flavor wise they did not change my life like I was hoping they would. Still ate them all. The locale is super unassuming from the street, but inside it is really cool, divey, and broody. The staff was super sweet and helped me get in and out efficiently so I could make it to the game. Would absolutely recommend, would absolutely come back, and would absolutely bring friends here.
