Joe called me back the same day and was able to stop by the next day with a quote before his official business hours. He went out of his way and stared his day early since I told him about time sensitivity of needing it up before I start a new job. I had to wait the rest of the week for 2 other quotes so I could have some comparison. Other companies had 3-4 week waits just to give an estimate. J & J Fence has very affordable prices and the quality of work is fantastic. It was raining most of the week they were putting up our fence and they had to deal with a lot of extra roots and trees and other obstructions in the way of where the fence needed to be. It had rained for three days straight and the only brake in rain for finishing up the last part of the fence (adding the door) was early Saturday morning. Joe came by right away and made sure the job was finished so we could take our pups out of boarding. They we're very responsive and wrote us a personal thank you card. This is a small company that takes care of its employees and its customers. I highly recommend Joe Johnson and his team if you are looking to support small business owners who provide fast, quality, and affordable work. We appreciated the service so much! Thank you!!!!

This was one of several renovation projects that we were undertaking before the birth of our second child. We were also having problems with our dogs getting over the existing fence and running through the neighborhood. Unlike several other contractors that we had used for the other projects, the Fence Company was always punctual and professional. They also had good advice on what type of fence would look best on our terrain, which was a rough downward slope to a patch of woods at the back of the lot. They told us that installation would begin on a Monday morning and last two days. They sent a crew of six people out on Monday morning and were finished by the end of the day. The new fence looks great, and the local animal control officer no longer has us on speed dial. Out next door neighbors had just built their house, and were so impressed that they will also be using the Fence Company to put their fence in later this year. A couple of other details: 1. The job was done at the cost estimated, with the exception of additional charges or obstructions to the post holes (see below). Half was due up front, and half on completion of the work. The estimate and the payment schedule were entirely reasonable. 2. Any posts that had to be dug through roots or rocks incurred an additional $15 charge per post. Whoever had installed the previous fence had cemented the entire length of the fence into some brick and concrete trough that ran the entire length of the fence and was worthy of a WWII bunker. We removed most of it with a sledge hammer and two picks (we broke the first one). We also had a number of large honeysuckle plants that had to be removed. After that experience, we were happy to pay the the additional charges for the obstructed posts. 3. My only negative comment is that the Fence Company only offers installation services. We had to clear the old fence line out ourselves, and we would have been happy to get a higher bid for the complete job. Of course, after tearing out the concrete and brick mess, perhaps I understand why they're not interested in that type of work.

If you use this company, be aware that they do NOT cover boards that split. We had this happen within the first year, even though we had weather-proofed the boards just after installation.
