While there are other options in the area, one major advantage here is that you practice and test in the same yard--other schools have to come to Jose's for testing. For the little ones, you may not distinguish many differences between other dance studios. However, starting around 8-10 years old, Santa Rosa Ballet is the best school to study classical ballet in Sonoma County as it is the basic for variety genres of dance. My daughter has been accepted to San Francisco Ballet School summer session for 2 years by in person auditions and Royal Ballet School (London) on waitlist. It's not just ballet. With classical ballet and the wonderful instruction of ballet, Ms. Stephanie has helped my daughter be the strong person she is today. Ballet teaches so much: memory, focus & concentration, quick thinking skills. Additionally it can be relaxing, fun, difficult, and when playing classical music it can also bring a positive and calming effect to the brain. All while releasing endorphins. Looking back, it's incredible to see not just the physical strength, but the emotional and mental strength it can bring your child.
