He has now retired, but I enjoyed him being my Doctor. He was very thorough and made sure I understood any medical condition I faced.

Well for yrs I've seen doctors and therapist with no results. I saw Dr DeV and I was shocked he took his time to hear of my battle with anxiety and took some test, not just write me an rx for meds that I never take because they don't work and the side effects are worse then the anxiety. He also referred me to Dr. King a cognitive behavioral therapist and now after 6 yrs I no longer have the anxiety and med free. Then I developed a severe bacterial infection and was hospitalized for 3 days 2 wks ago feeling the same symptoms I saw him today and he realized I was given antibiotics in the hospital that was not proven to kill the specific infection and made a weird face like, "why" ? I'm now on proven meds to finally kill this infection and I'm fully confident in his care. My family and I will see him til he retires. Oh and I never wait more then 10 mins in the very nice and comfortable waiting room. His male assistant could act like he wants to be there lol he's nice but seems a lil bored or down. Nice guy though. The front office and schedule coordinator are very pleasant always. I don't want them to get very busy but I have to yelp about this awesome team. Not only is he a real and honest Doctor, he has the best personality! And is not bad to look at ;) he is to the point but with a cheerful attitude.

The Fairburn location had the time slot I wanted so I went. To note, though you can book a time online, it's not an actual appointment. It's done to help maintain order and keep the flow of things moving. Once I arrived, I checked in at the front desk, paid my copay and had a seat. The young lady behind the desk was very even toned. She got me checked in and I had a seat. At the time of my arrival, there were 3 people in front of me. After a quick 30-40 minute wait, I was called to the back. The young lady who took my vitals was very upbeat and pleasant. Though I wasn't feeling good, her attention to service made me smile and was a great representation of the Piedmont brand. After taking my vitals and getting all the prelim done she took me to my room and advised the doctor would be with me shortly. Dr. Wendy arrived within minutes. She knocked on the door and once I authorized she entered. From the moment she walked in she was upbeat, compassionate and all smiles. Her bedside manner was beyond amazing. She provided a level of care that not only made me feel at ease as a patient, however, I felt valued as a person and as though Dr. Wendy wasn't just processing me as a number but as a person in need. She used my name. She took time to understand my concerns. She didn't rush me through anything. She talked through all areas with me. She let me know what she was doing and what the next steps would be. Her ability to engage with me as a patient was as if she was my PCP. Though I was at Urgent Care, the level of care, service, compassion, and attention was far beyond any other Urgent Care I have ever visited. From getting to the back area to being discharged I was there for about 45 minutes. None of my time felt wasted nor did I feel anyone had forgotten about me. The team was amazing and Dr. Wendy was truly stellar. A great representation of the Piedmont Brand and a Standard of Excellence for the Care of a Patient.

I…read morewas switched to Dr. Patel after Dr. Sankoorikal left, and I am terribly disappointed with the service I've received. My first visit with him was just ok. He doesn't come off as caring, he's not very personable, and I just didn't get a good feeling from him. I had my second visit with him today, and it was terrible. I told him my problem, he asked a couple questions, did a brief exam, then prescribed some medication. I then let him know I had something else to discuss, and he told me I couldn't. He said, "with these 15 minute ones, they want me to stick to one thing". He then said, well if it's quick I can try to help, while standing at the partially open door. Of course I declined at that point. He then said "they want us to do one thing well instead of two things shitty". I felt totally rushed and uncomfortable, and I was actually taken back by his remark. IMO we don't know each other well enough to use cuss words in a professional setting. Especially when I'm on the losing side of the conversation. I've never had a doctor that refused to help me. I could possibly understand if we were close to the 15 minute mark, but we weren't. I spoke with him for less than 10 minutes. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a doctor's appointment, and I will not be returning. The rest of the staff is warm and friendly. I've always had great interactions with them. Maybe the other doctors here do a better job of making their patients feel heard, but Ashish Patel certainly DOES NOT.

When a doctor or office staff fails to care about their patients then I will find another doctor. I'll let my feet do the talking and find another doctor.
