We then had another issue, where all of the sudden, while I was showering, it started raining just downstairs from the recessed lighting fixtures. That issue, too, they came, saw, and fixed. Finally, we had flooding in our basement. Twice, about 6 months apart. The first time, despite my anxiety, he managed to convince me that we should not grab someone for a Sunday emergency service, since that's going to be way more expensive. He was right, because at the time the issue was both intermittent and thus unsolvable. We didn't see the issue again for about 10 months. Fast-forward, and the issue happened again. This time we caught it and figured out exactly what needed to be done. His team fixed it quickly and hopefully, we won't see the issues again.

Very good and prompt in getting back to me but in all honesty I wound up going with someone else for half the price they had wanted to charge. I am inclined to say they do good work but at the time I called it was in the middle of a cold snap when it was a gold rush of sorts as this was happening all around and they were going to take advantage of the situation. I don't know if I would use them again as I had one very good experience and then avoided using them a second time and getting milked.

While the initial HVAC and plumbing work appeared acceptable at first, multiple issues became apparent over time. Some installations required repeated adjustments, certain problems were not properly diagnosed the first time, and there were ongoing airflow issues that were never fully resolved. This led to rework and ongoing troubleshooting that a homeowner should not expect from a professional contractor. More concerning was how accountability and professionalism were handled afterward. Items and tools belonging to me that were borrowed during the work were not returned when requested, and communication around resolving this was dismissive rather than professional. This is something consumers should be mindful of when allowing access to their home and property. Based on the quality control, the need for repeated corrections, and how disputes and borrowed property were handled, I can no longer recommend this contractor. I'm sharing this so future customers can make an informed decision and set very clear expectations up front.

An electrician then came out but couldn't figure out how to connect things. Frank painstakingly tested all of the wires in varying combinations and while connecting and disconnecting thermostat and condenser wires to figure out the mess of wires. Eventually, he got it working. He's also an extremely nice guy, who charged something very reasonable given the amount of time he spent working everything out. We will definitely be calling Frank next time we need HVAC help.

I gave him an $8000 deposit which he asked for 10,000. He came back with the piece we needed and he wanted me to give him the balance that I owed him before he walked into the store to finish the job. Couldn't ask for a better system or company to install and work with. Scott is a super nice guy and very conscientious. Because of the great results we had with the first purchase, we selected Carey & Walsh for our second Heater, a boiler system. Weil McLain. Scott and team did a great job with the installation. Went seamlessly. We also purchased two WiFi thermostats that also worked excellent. We did have a glitch with the furnace a year later but Carey and Walsh along with the oil company resolved the issue. In fact, Scott Carey called me off hours to explain the situation and help me out. I highly recommend Carey & Walsh for all your furnace & boiler needs.
