I wish I could leave this place zero stars! Aside from the young Hispanic gentleman that initially helped me, everyone in there is evil. The manager Max should never be able to be employed anywhere. He is the most coldhearted, rude and disrespectful human being I've ever met. Everyone is nice until you pawn your personal property to them and once they have it they treat you like shit. I pond my cell phone for the day knowing I would come back and get it but what I didn't think of ahead of time is that I would need to transfer money over from my savings to my checking. When I offered to handover my wallet in exchange for one minute with my phone in order to get the money to pay them the manager Max would not allow it. I told him I just wanted to get the money so I could pay them and get my phone, I was an hour away from home I had nobody's phone number memorized I was crying and scared but it didn't matter, he told me pawn something else or come back when I had the money. I told them I had literally had nothing else with me and no way of getting my money before they closed unless I could see my phone for one second and use it right in front of them. Smoking cigarettes inside the store. Dirty. No masks. Having some unstable reaction/outburst in front of customers. This place and the owner are way beyond rough state. I can't imagine this place will continue to exist much longer. It's incredibly dirty. The shop is in a rough location. They said they were robbed and the robbers bent back the steel bars that were already on the windows to rob them. Their shop is limiting to 3 customers at a time because of COVID. I walk in and all 4 employees are not wearing a mask. I ask to look at an item and the employee tells me and shows me it's broken. I inspect it as well and it's broken non functional. So I say oh ok, thanks anyway. And then I started looking on my phone to research a price for another item. Enter some guy with a Russian accent, no mask, smoking a cigarette inside with the ash getting long. He comes over and says something like "It's priced $150, and we don't cut any deals." Ok then. He then continues with something like, "You know what, you look on phone, we might as well sell on eBay. What's this sell for?" He stands in front of his computer then shouts to the employee "change the price to $350!" I had passed on it at $150, I'm not interested at $350. I tell the employee again, it's really too damaged for me, thanks anyway. I decided to pass on the other item I was looking up on my phone too. I just looked at this guy with the Russian accent for awhile. I felt sorry for him. Idk what he's going through to be like that. I wanted to say "bad day, guy?" I just walked around and then left. So I've been going to this place for years. It's one of those places where it is surrounded by street walkers, sketchy people and etc. I'm not complaining about that in fact those people probably would be more polite than the workers here. They're absolutely horrible. I think the girl is the nicest and to get a smile from her it's a good day. I went in two weeks ago... not knowing they closed 15 mins till the stated closing time on my loan slip. No big deal although I wanted to pay. The man yelled it was closed then allowed these two unmannered nasty women to tell me its &$@!ing closed and to continued to throw insults my way. I'm no push over so I said my words back to the girls who were just customers. So the next day I went in paid my loan and turned to the blond hair guy behind the counter. I asked him if he was a manager(I remembered him being there and allowing customers to speak like that to me concerning closing time). He said yes. I asked him why he allowed people to speak on their behalf and is that what they want to be the face of their company? He replied I don't care we're surrounded by crackheads. I retorted "So what!! What does that have to do with me?! I've been a customer a long time and I find your customer service horrible!! You have this guy over here with every other word being the F word. We went to pawn a SLANTED Fender GE412 Cabinet, we always pawn amps, guitars and other cabinets , the rude and unprofessional Employee Named "MAX" proceeded to tell my husband that he couldn't take the cabinet because he "didn't look like a musician" so he based his decision on how he looked to not accept his cabinet. Not a way to do business if you want to run a actual professional business. We have been coming to this pawn shop 6+ years now we will be taking our pawn business elsewhere. Ugh, can't I do zero stars? Fine then, this solitary star goes to the one friendly guy who I encountered there. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name. NEVER GO HERE! Strike 1: They seriously ripped me off when I pawned my New 3DS XL/games. Ok, so all pawn shops can rip ya off at times, but even another pawn shop told me that what this place gave me was super low. Strike 2: When my grandparents house burned down, my grandpa had some silver jewelry/chains/etc left over from the fire that he (generously) let me sell. It was quite a bit of silver, and it took me HOURS to untangle. Admittedly, the first guy I ever dealt with at this place was cool, but everybody else had a huge attitude problem when I walked in with so much silver for them to sort through. Like, chill out, I did the hard part in untangling all of it, and that's your job; besides that I know you're underpaying me anyway! Strike 3: (this is a major one) So, here's the story... I pawned my MacBook Pro to help out a friend of mine. However, when we got to the pawn shop, I couldn't find my ID, so he told me he'd deal with getting it in pawn. So, he pawns my computer, gets the cash, and hands me the ticket. Well, the plan was for him to go back there with me when it was time to pick it up. That's all fine and good, except for the fact that he died in the interim. I called up this shop explaining the situation to them and told them I could easily prove it's mine through putting an iCloud lock on it and then unlocking it with my iPhone, or I could also call Apple in front of them and prove the serial is tied to my account. All that, plus remember, I still had the ticket. Anyway, they told me I'd have to bring a death certificate. Ok, I guess that's fairly understandable. But then it became "bring his death certificate and a close family member of his". WTF? The dude just died a violent death and you want me to bug his family, who I don't even know, over a laptop? Anyway, I figured that was super crass, so I held off, and hoped to get it back when the pawn ticket expired (yes, they told me I'd have to buy back my own damn property at a mark-up). Unfortunately, after they flat-out refused to give me MY property (which, again, I could easily prove was mine), his sister ended up going in and getting everything he had in pawn out (including, duh, my laptop). I freaked the hell out and the owner, who is the most unhelpful, idiotic, rude motherf**ker on the planet, basically shrugged. Cool dude, thanks for the help. Well, thankfully, I did get his mom's phone number at the funeral, and, as much as I hated to do it, I finally had to just hit her up for my laptop back. The story does have a happy ending in that I did get it back once I proved to the family that it was indeed mine (though my data had been erased, which was a slight annoyance), but what if they wouldn't have been as helpful? This shop would have gladly given my stuff away to a third-party and I would've had no retribution! The owner said that was their policy because they'd had problems in the past with people claiming stuff that wasn't theirs, but, again, THIS WAS NOT AN ITEM WHICH WOULD'VE BEEN HARD TO PROVE MY OWNERSHIP OF. Plus, legally, the ticket holder is entitled to the item anyway! Idiots. So, in conclusion... NEVER EVER EVER GO HERE, ok? If you need to pawn, there are much better places with friendlier staff to deal with, or if you just want to flat out sell something, you'd probably get a better amount and less attitude from even a crackhead bum on the street. read more

If I could give no stars I would, I never bring in my valuables here because I've heard things .. but I decided to give it a try for I brought in my necklace and two rings that were a gift from my finance... it was very hard to part with to start with but everyone knows life happens and you do what you have to do. I came back to get the jewelry not even 2 months in and the guy gives me my rings and just the charm to my necklace and walked away.. so I waited thinking he was going to return .. seeing that the actual necklace wasn't given to me yet ... I ask him is he going to finish up with me and he said that's it.. he then searched the bag and it wasn't in there he then went to get his boss who was sooo rude and after 30+ minutes I asked another worker if he knew were his boss went and he said very rude.. I don't know I'm doing something else ... the boss finally returned and offered me a smaller cheaper looking necklace when I told him the necklace was valuable to me and I would rather he search more he got really upset and told me it wasn't his fault if it's not there it's not there.. I then proceeded to ask for my receipt I gave to them prior to getting half my jewelry and informed one of the other employees I was going to take legal action the boss didn't care. One of the employees went against his Managment wishes and listened to me and got me a necklace that looked similar to mine.. I was still upset seeing that that necklace held value but my fiancé is a very sweet man and he had to talk to me and let me know it's okay but I feel this establishment needs to be more respectful and professional .. I know they feel they can talk and treat their customers how they want because they feel they are doing us all a favor .. but without our things you wouldn't even have a business and everyone should understand that life gets hard and they should understand that those people already feel down or angry or whatever the case may be for having to bring in their belongings in the first place .. so a little respect would be nice and it goes a long way. read more
