3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)

Food is Spectacular!!! I can't wait to go back. BLT...perfect. Northside Johnny was amazing. My 1 complaint was about the BBQ baked beans. I asked for a side, and was told NO. You have to buy a bbq combo platter to be allowed to buy beans.......weird, right? How difficult is it to serve a side and charge me. Oh well, we are going back anyway. Awesome find and worth a try if you have a little patience.

Volo Quality Meats is an Italian butcher and deli. We were in the area and was looking for a deli,…read more On a Sunday afternoon the place was packed. There is limited parking and we were able to secure the last open spot. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the butchers, while he was carving beef. The deli showcases a large variety of meats. There are also several freezers with packaged meats. We bought a few varieties. They have a diverse menu of sandwiches. Sandwiches were priced a bit high, but it they were high quality. I had their signature sandwich -the Franklin. It was recognized by Chicago Magazine as one of the city's best dishes. It was roasted turkey , sofrito aioli, cheddar, avocado, arugula, and pickled red onions on sourdough. It was a blend of flavors. My husband had the reuben . It was in house-prepared Brisket Corned Beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and a tangy Russian dressing. We had a side pasta salad and potato salad . There is indoor seating and almost all of the tables were taken. Prices are a but steep, but the quality was very good.

This place is hopping! It was a Saturday morning around…read more10:30am that I arrived. There had to be 15 customers that picked up or ordered in the eight minutes I was there. I ordered the Fox with a Twist for $10.49. I got a garlic bagel, I would try something different, probably everything or salt. I also kept the plain cream cheese and I would sub that next time. I really liked the turkey, there was a lot of it on the bagel. $10.50 is a lot for a bagel sized sandwich, but there was a lot of turkey. I enjoyed the bacon and pickled jalapeños. I could not taste the tomato but was glad it was there, but I was disappointed with the caramelized onions. There were not many, and they had almost no flavor. The sandwich also needed salt, something to draw out the flavor. I also got a French toast bagel for my son. It was served warm. That was $2.49. I heard about this deli because it was used for a catering event I went to. The bagels are delicious!!! The best around. The bagel hole idea is also clever, great snack for a catering tray. I would grab a bagel if I was in the area, but not sure I'll repeat the sandwich at that price point without a bit more punch of flavor.

Finally visited Elle's Deli & Bagels when passing through the area! This spot is a little out of…read morethe way for me but the high reviews got my attention. The inside is small but cute with an ordering counter, to-go items, merch, etc. There isn't anywhere inside to sit and enjoy but bagels are nicely wrapped to carry out. While waiting for my order to be ready, the staff were hustling to keep up with taking orders, preparing food, and were constantly bringing out fresh bagels to refill flavors. I ordered The Basic B with crispy bacon, egg, and cheese on a Garlic Bagel. The bagel was extremely fresh and I could taste the garlic flavor infused into the bagel itself as well as the topping. The eggs were fluffy and the cheese added the perfect, melty flavor. My husband got the Everything bagel with Lox cream cheese. He said he could taste the fresh salmon flavor in the cream cheese and their everything bagel house seasoning had a good mix of flavor. Overall, I am so happy I finally got to try Elle's Bagels! This is clearly a neighborhood favorite as it was consistently busy when I visited. The pricing was very fair, everything was fresh, and staff were very kind/patient. Highly recommend coming out to give them a try!

Updated my review with pictures of the best tuna subs in town. During Lent, it was a blessing. Love…read morethe music as well!!!! Love this place!! My favorite Tuna of all time. The staff is always so nice. The ambiance is cute and charming. The service is speedy with a great attention to quality. Their sandwiches are excellent. From the tuna, to the Donald J to the Perricone.. I am going to try their paninis next. And then move on to this "Let's go Brandon" . I love the way they run their business. How they see what is truly going in America. DONT BACK DOWN. And DONT GIVE INTO THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRY. First amendment is always key. And always remember that these leftists think they are the majority but they're just little insecure sheep. The restaurant is extremely clean. I have read the negative and positive reviews and the negative ones aren't based on any sort of facts just based on the fact that Perricone's is owned by conservatives and the leftists in our area don't like it. We are many, and the leftists know it. If you have a chance to stop on by this sandwich shop, make sure you also try their soups!!! I forgot to mention those above!!! They are so worth it! My only regret is that I bought a very small serving and didn't have any left for lunch the next day!!! I wish Perricone's would actually claim this business on Yelp so they can see how many people in the area actually applaud them!!!

Not horrible but nothing to write home about. This is a pic of a the largest turkey sandwich they offer; like no meat on there Definitely need to add some more meat or offer an "extra meat" option. The food was tasty on a scale of 4 stars but the high price, lack of meat, and kind of messy built sandwiches bring it down to a 3 star. Try for yourself, I'm happy to support local and pay a bit more but needs to offer more, especially to retain new customers. Also.....when the sandwiches were being made I wasn't asked what condiments I wanted on anything, I think all of the meat used was cheap....it also seemed like an imposition to be a customer ordering food from them, mom and daughter didn't give the most welcoming, friendly or helpful vibe. not much love or appreciation shown for $100+ purchase
