Quitman has a great team of employees. Everyone is very caring. My dogs always receive good care.

Staff is friendly enough, but they are incredibly over priced compared to other places for boarding in the area. Not to mention it's the only place I know that you get charged by the day instead of the night for boarding so be prepared to pay for the day you drop off and pickup! Took my dog in who was having wierd symptoms and they gave her Valium- they noted in her chart the Valium lead her to have seizures. They called in a paradoxical effect yet they administered it to her again 2x more- which obviously led to more seizures and then ultimately they gave her some other type of sedatives took her off of all her machines because they didn't want her to have another seizure and thrash around and hurt herself- so they said! Although I was keeping her there overnight for a "observation" yet no one informed me that that meant that no one would be in the clinic, there's no cameras on the animals, and they're not attached to any vital machines or alarms or anything of that nature. So basically when they say observation, they mean she's just gonna sleep there and they'll hope for the best and when they came in the next morning, she had passed away. I was not able to get any answers as to the time that she passed away how she passed away or anything. But if I was to post, which I might, the medical record review on here, I'm sure many people would agree with me that this veterinarian killed them Dr. Bennett told me that he was so worried for my animal that he himself came in at midnight to check on her and she was "fine". But don't you think I should've gotten a phone call if the doctor is that worried about an animal that the owner should've eaten informed I was awake at midnight, crying my eyes out worried for my dog! The weird thing is that was a bold face lie because there's no documentation on his visit at midnight instead, there is a documented visit to her crate or kennel at 9 PM by an unknown tech who noted that she had woken up from her sedation and was back to thrashing around and not doing well and again where was my phone call??!?? this happened in August, but I still cannot get over the fact that my dog came home dead all due to the fact that they misled me and made me think that she would be OBSERVED when in reality all they did was put her into a sedation, almost an anesthetic sedation, took her off all machinery and left her there overnight. There was no midnight check like Dr. Bennett lead me to think and the last time she was looked at was 9 PM and she was not doing well and I did not get that news. Otherwise I would've picked her ass up and taking her straight over to the Tyler hospital where they have actual observation on animals overnight by their staff I'm so upset that the choice and veterinary care is what made the difference probably between my dog living or dying. I mentioned medications that were on the property and in a separated house and it's it appears like they treated her for getting into those meds which was nearly impossible, and I explained that to the doctor over and over again when I returned home and looked at the property, I noticed that there were several species of mushrooms that had bloomed after the recent rain that had occurred and I now believe that it was mushroom toxicity that she had stepped on a very toxic mushroom and was having a reaction to that maybe even just high or tripping and she needed to just kill or sleep it off, but regardless of all that once they found out that the medication they were giving her was causing her to have a negative paradoxical" effect they should have contacted me immediately and told me to send her to a higher level of care I would have picked her up and brought her to a 24 hour urgent or emergency care center which I believe is In Tyler. I explained the doctor that money was not an issue and I think that is why he decided to keep her on as a patient instead of doing what was best for her and referring me to a higher level of care. When they called me in the next day, I was devastated and I mentioned that I was gonna do the necropsy exam postmortem and I felt like they were trying to convince me to cremate. However, I have another dog here who is her littermate and everything that I know said that they had to say goodbye so I brought her home. Sorry the pictures are a little bit gory like I had your document everything as to this situation which was the advice of my attorney if anyone else has had a similar issue like this, please reach out to me or make a effort to find me somewhere that we can get together because you're not the only one there have been several animals who have died under the care of these veterinarians and they're getting away with it because in the state of Texas animals, I looked that like "property" and they know that so they don't really care as much as they probably should- one review I looked at on Google said that they killed an animal because they over vaccinated. They added too much of a certain vaccine that killed this animal. How many times can they get away with doing something like this? If I could give zero stars I would, but I have to give at least one just so I can have this people put into the public eye. read more

Don't waste your time and money at this clinic! At one time this clinic and its support staff were top notch, but over the past few months, major chances have occurred. This practice does not accept appointments so be ready to spend a minimum of 2 hours. If they happen to have an emergency, it's all hands-on deck and your wait will be extended. Keep in mind, you'll never know there is an emergency, only that your time there is never-ending. Next, their prices are outrageous and between the tech and the vet, they are always pushing for procedures that your pet doesn't need. Being a prior salesperson, I believe this is called 'Selling Up.' In regard to their staff, the receptionists seem to be doing you a favor by being there. They are all rude, condescending and lack true customer service. This is obviously not isolated, since the management team mirrors this disrespectful, self-righteous, inconsiderate approach to clients, no matter how much money they spend at this clinic. Now to address the vet techs and licensed techs. A few months back, many of their best licensed techs left rather quickly. This coincides with when the negative changes occurred. There are only a few good, licensed techs but they are overworked and doing menial tasks that regular, non-licensed tech should be doing. They can't seem to keep the regular techs since I've seen a huge and constant turnover. Now on the doctors. Before, they all used to be very caring, compassionate, and would ensure any question was answered, fully. Nowadays, you'll be lucky to see a vet since they work on your pet behind the scenes. How do you know what procedure your pet really received? The last time we went, we could hear our dog screaming and when she came back to the room, she had a horrible bruise on her belly. It's obvious they only care about the money and have lost the reason for their licenses. A good example is two years ago it was determined that my other pet had liver failure and the doctor (who I refuse to ever see since) advised that I put him to sleep. To me, this was unacceptable, and he did not give me any alternatives. Luckily, another doctor, that I do trust, gave me more options. Thanks to her, my precious pet is still with me, fighting strong. All I'm advising is for you to do your homework, check the reviews outside of their website, and look for a different practice. read more

This company, the doctors and staff, are the perfect example of greed in our country. Money over people. They overcharge for all their services and products. Which was my personal experience. Which is why I stopped going to this clinic. A neighbor of mine also had a very negative experience. He paid hundreds of dollars for multiple medications over the course of almost 8 months to get rid of fleas on his dog. This is an elderly man on a fixed income. They couldn't care less. Then when confronted by an understandably upset customer they ban him from the clinic. I guess they think human beings don't have emotions. I guess they think human beings don't get upset when being taken advantage of by the clinic's staff. Dr. Smith specifically took money out of his pocket and threw it at my neighbor because he requested a refund since none of the medication purchased solved the problem. It's unbelievable to me that one of these doctors can treat someone like that and turn around playing the victim. My neighbor had every reason to be upset. I would have been the same. Advice: find another animal clinic for your furry friends. They deserve better. read more

This clinic is really good at treating domestic animals and livestock. New to cattle we were really learning when one of our cows didn't calf well and the calf was stuck. We called the clinic, they checked us in over the phone ( we had been one other time with one of our dogs who had a hurt foot) - we were seen after a short wait and they removed the calf, gave antibiotics, and something to dry her milk up. The vet was super patient with us and explained everything clearly. We've taken our two dogs there, too, for annual checkups and vaccinations and when they have a mishap out here. The staff is patient, the place is usually busy. They do not have an appointment system unless the animal is getting surgery, it's first come first serve. Highly recommend!! read more

I stopped by first thing Saturday morning (8:00 am) to see if I could pick a refill (medicine) for a hot spot under my dogs neck - that he was treated for at this clinic last August ( Aug 2023) I was told by the receptionist - "since it was over a year" - by less than a month ... (it was Sept, 2024) that I would have to bring my dog back in to be checked out. The receptionist did not offer to check with one of the Dr's. or even a Tech. My question is - are they more concerned about charging for a visit or the well being for an animal? My dog weighs approximately 90 pound and since my hip replacement I am not able to pick up my dog. Last Friday, we came home from work to find our youngest kitten barely moving. When he would get up, I couldn't tell what was wrong, but he felt different, like he held himself differently. My husband and I called 5 different vets before we found this one able to take us in. We got there right at 5, and they immediately took him to the back to check on him while we checked in. They ran a bunch of tests and kept us up to date on what was going on and what the results were, and they were upfront about costs before every test so they could stay within our budget. Everyone who saw our Bean was so kind and acted like they genuinely cared about him (nobody at the vet we usually take our pets to is like this; they always act indifferent towards the people and animals that come in). It was so refreshing to be at a vet who seemed to love their job and the animals that came in. Honestly, it was a bit of a culture shock to be kept in the loop about what tests were being run, how much things were going to cost, and that, with his 105° fever, they weren't sure if he was going to make it and told us we could bring him in the next day if he didn't improve overnight. They also cut the bill for us when we asked if we could make a split payment because while we had the money to pay for it, it would have been much easier for us financially to split it. These people did so much for us, and there are no words to express how grateful I am to them for staying late and doing everything they could to save our Bean. And they did save him, and I will be forever grateful to them, although I would feel this way even if he hadn't gotten better. They went above and beyond, and I can't imagine going anywhere else in the future. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Also, a special shout-out to Meagan Young, the vet tech who worked with us, and Dr. Smith. The kindness and love they showed Bean... I fail to express myself properly. Meagan was the one who kept us up to date on everything and answered all of our questions (and even laughed a little when she couldn't hear his heartbeat over how loud he was purring for her). read more

This clinic murdered my friends 3 month old puppy by over vaccinating!!!! They clearly do not know the levels of meds. My friend even questioned it! And they convinced her it was fine! The dog died the next day! Nothing else was wrong! He was a happy puppy! read more

Today we had to venture to Quitman Animal Clinic to have our precious 16 year old Bichon Leo checked. We were seen by Dr. Paul Crabtree. The ultimate result was devastating, the rapid onset of a horrific autoimmune disorder, and we ended up having to allow our beloved friend to cross Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Crabtree could not have been more tender and compassionate. So caring and just wonderful. Leo was very gently and lovingly tended to and cared for as if were royalty. We shall forever be loyal to this clinic. And we shall sing their praises everywhere. read more

We left a fabulous vet in Dallas that we had for over 15 years. We have several large breed dogs and in the past cats as well so we consume a lot of routine and extenuating vet services. We were afraid when we moved to E TX we would not be able to find the same level of care we were accustomed to receiving. We interviewed several practices after we moved. Since moving to E TX, we have used Quitman Animal Clinic and the vets and staff have more than exceeded our expectations. They are knowledgeable, professional, kind and caring and compassionate. Without a doubt, this is one of the best animal clinics in East Texas. The doctors and staff here are top notch. We had a wonderful vet in Grapevine and when we moved to Winnsboro, all my neighbors said, "go to Quitman Animal Clinic." That was the best advice ever. Every one of the doctors here is very professional and also very kind and caring, which, to us and our pets, means an awful lot. We have moved out of state now, but I wanted to post this review because I honestly don't think we'll ever find another Clinic like this one. Too busy or they just don't care. I take in quite a few rescue animals. I have to get these animals spayed and neutered of course before I try to find them homes. I cannot afford full prices because of the large amount of animals I take in. So I use Snippet, which is a low-cost spay and neuter program located in Tyler Texas. Although I've never had a problem with Snippet before, this time one of the cats I had stayed there had an open wound a week later. I could not reach snippet on this day, a Saturday, so I called Quitman Animal Clinic and asked them how they could help. The girl that answered proceeded to tell me that's what I get for going to a low-cost spay and neuter place. She told me that we basically get what we pay for. Then she put the veterinarian Dr. Bennett on the telephone and he proceeded to tell me I should call the Tyler emergency clinic. I'm so sorry that I bothered you people. read more

Top notch quality, very caring. Have been going to Quitman for several years now & compared to other clinics we have used... well really no comparison. Treated like an old friend when you walk in the door, to a precise easy to understand diagnosis by caring doctors, I will bring my pets here whenever needed. We have one difficult fur child that seems to be responding to the treatment that they prescribed after many years of tests & treatments by myriad other vet clinics. We are grateful that she is living a relatively pain free life. read more

My wife and I had our 14 year old chihuahua euthanized here. He was loved and treated as one of our family. The staff here were absolutely amazing.
