Kindness costs nothing. La amabilidad no cuesta nada. And rudeness costs everything.
My fiancé and I travel all around the globe often and this is the first time that we had such a horrible experience. Our hope was to have our wedding reception at the Quinta Real (Puebla). After trying for the past 2 months through email and in person, through a friend, to acquire any information, I decided to personally travel to Puebla in hopes of taking care of it. I arrived on a Saturday and was told that there was no one who could help. The receptionist took my number and didn't get back with me. This was my fourth attempt to contact someone at the hotel. Thankfully, Adrian, the security guard, along with the head of security were very nice and tried to assist me in every way they could. I returned again on Monday and the sales manager of banquets, Marco, showed me the hotel. He stated he had to talk to his supervisor to further assist me. I communicated that my visit to Puebla was short, that this wasn't my first attempt at obtaining information, and to please get back to me as soon as possible. I did not hear back until Thursday, four days later.
The next day, I visited the hotel to sign the contract. Then, the head of banquets joined us. I was grateful until she little by little added on several caviats that I hadn't been informed of. Her attitude was very unprofessional, as if she was doing me a favor. Then she kept giving me more obstacles rather than offering help or solutions. In all this, the hotel lost out on a $25,000 weekend and our recommendation to our friends and family, all over her unprofessionalism and terrible customer service.
The same day, I attempted to speak with the General Manager in hopes of salvaging the plans. First, I was told by the receptionist I needed an appointment. Shortly after that, the check in personnel stated the manager was at lunch. Lastly, the reservation manager stated he was unavailable. It appeared as if they wanted to avoid me speaking to him at all costs. At this point, I have decided to take my business, family, friends to the beautiful Cholula where I am sure they will be taken care of in future travels. The boutique Hotel Quinta Alhondiga Galindo and Quinta Aidel have exceeded our expectations. They are wonderful people.
To my fellow Americans I encourage you to stay somewhere other than La Quinta Real (Puebla). read more
