You must book your tour in advance!
Grounds are better than the wine. Lots of well maintained gardens, dating from 1870, and If you happen to like peacocks, goats, swans, or an occasional cat, and one Portuguese black lab dog, then you might want to stop here.
Our guide was giving her first tour and we wish her well--hope she finds her real calling. On the tour, you will see the long cask room, but learn nothing about the wine making process, unfortunately.
In the charming tasting room, we tasted two wines including the vinho verde, but I still prefer Gazela or Adega Ponte de Lima for green wine. On the other had, the local cheese from cows is tasty, especially the one which is more aged than the younger one.
