Be sure to get it from them before renting anything from them, they never even provided me a copy to review when initially agreeing to the rental. Had a wheel bend on a backhoe while fixing some damaged roads, they had someone come out and replace it the next day. I figured I paid for the damage waiver so didn't expect it to cost much. Well, they charged nearly three grand for just the repair. Had I gone with Herc Rentals, the entire cost of damage would have been waived. Ahern Rentals, United Rentals and Sunbelt Rentals charges just 10% of the damage. Those companies make their policies very clear and public, it's right on their website. I didn't even find out about H&E's $2500 deductible until after the fact; they had never informed me about the details of their damage waiver policy. Not only that, these guys charged more for the repair travel cost with a 1 ton pickup than the 40ft flatbed they sent to drop off and pick up all the equipment. Add insult to injury, over $1200 in labor to replace a wheel that took all 15 minutes, I mean it's a few minutes lifting the vehicle with a bottle jack, popping off lug nuts, removing existing wheel, putting new one on, putting lug nuts back on and lowering the jack, how absurd is that? Went with H&E to save a few bucks, ended up costing more than twice as much as the other guys. Never again, it's disingenuous at best for them to charge more than their competitors for damages despite paying the damage waiver fee and outright robbery to charge whatever they feel appropriate for the repair. Just run away from these guys, any other company has better policies and are upfront and forthright about it!
