I had never even heard of this store before and had no idea what to expect going in. There is a sign on the door that says you need to be 21+ to enter. The store seemed clean and the employee on duty was super friendly. he probably could tell i seemed a little lost and guessed i was there picking up a delivery. I was in and out quick. They had the order ready to go. So it was quick and simple.

There is a bar inside where you can order and walk around( in designated areas) with your beer or cocktail while you shop. They have a deli/cafe area that you can order from and sit and eat. The prices are great. The store is laid out very well. Produce is arranged nicely and is so colorful. They have a few produce items that most grocery stores in the area don't carry. They also carry quite a few different brands of food that are also not in any of our local grocery stores. They source their meat locally and have a nice variety of meats and seafood. The bakery is nice. Open to watch them work and I think most things are made at this location. It's a fun, different grocery shopping experience. The store has a wide variety of products with a limited selection of each due to their small size. Their prices are higher than the chain stores but lower than 7-11 type of stores. And they are nearby. We do our weekly grocery shopping at Wal-mart in Longmont (or sometimes King Soopers). To pick up a few items, it is far cheaper and more convenient to go to Hays Market than to drive to Longmont. I understand that about a decade ago Safeway was to build a store in the North East corner of CO 56 and US 287, but backed out of the deal because there were not enough people here to support it. Luckily, we have Hays Market for our go-to store. As Berthoud grows to be a city, with all of the reasons we left a city to more to Berthoud, the chain stores will come also. At that time Hays Market will have to change or close. Until then, I am glad we live in a small town with a small town grocery store.

Granted, the prices are higher than Walmart, Safeway, etc. However, you have friendlier cashiers here. The store is quaint, and has that small town feel to it. One of the biggest pluses to having Heritage around is how close it is to my home! They really did put this store in the best possible spot (off of Elm and Collins). Overall, if you need a quick something if you live in Eaton, Ault, or Galeton, definitely stop by Heritage!
