If anything else, I hope the city explores a rewrite of this road, through the covered wagon intersection and really the surrounding area. It's not fun to drive, and an absolute nightmare to bike or walk near. Anywho, this spot gets BUSY during the middle of day. We stopped in to get our girls some road trip snacks and they loved all the candy and whatnot. I do like getting an unsweetened ice tea with a little lemonade in it from QuikTrip, so I got in on that too. Like most QuikTrips, their staff is quick on the register and you won't wait long, even during a rush. QuikTrip's are typically the best gas stations in town, but again this is one I'll skip more often than not.

I also noticed the standard efficient and friendly service I have come to expect at other locations. I liked the free air and the competitive gas price outside. Last week he fueled up 32 gallons of diesel in his 9mo old truck and left town for a work trip towing equipment to Tulsa. Half way to Springfield a fuel light came in saying there was water in the fuel!! He called a dealership while on the road, they said stop driving it immediately and he drove to the dealership. He had got them to look at it the next morning. So that cost him a day. There WAS water in the fuel and a day later and $1800 worth of damage they had to fix on his truck. He used to spend $100-150/DAY in fuel here, do the math. Never again. We will never buy gas or fuel here ever again. QT is one block away and they will now have our business.

Hy-Vee Gas gives you a certain percentage off, per the amount of money you spent at Hy-Vee. Sometimes it's more. The other day, they had a special going, spend $50 at Hy-Vee, and get 25% off your gas. Well, heck yeah! There's a car wash across the street, and you can get a discount, as well, if you pay for it, or they give you a coupon at the gas station. Hmm...I do need my car wash, forgot about that yesterday. Inside the gas station is a small convenience store that would have 5 stars, 'cept the ATM isn't Community America, even though there's a Community America inside the Hy-Vee. I found out that once, by mistake....just don't plan on using the ATM in the gs station, if you use CACU. There's soda, and a small amount of warm food, a microwave, and clean bathrooms. I've found certain things that are for sale in the store, but not the gas station. They are priced different. So why is it a Hy-Vee Gas station? You'd think the same items are for sale at the gas station, and at the store? But, for the savings, the gas station is in a great location, and when I have spent a 1/4th of my paycheck on groceries, and get a nice percentage off my gas, you can't beat it.
