As with many of the other buildings along this road, it's older and has a lot of character-I'll bet it could tell some fascinating stories if the building could talk. I'd go to that play, fo' sho! The seating is fairly comfortable and there's not a bad spot in the house. You can see the stage from every angle. It's a smaller theater, which magnifies the intimacy of the productions put on here. I love that you can see the facial expression of the performers and are so close to the stage. This may not be the fanciest house in town, but there's something about being able to say you've been coming to this theater for generations and the nostalgia that comes along with the place.

There was much discussion some years ago about what to do with the building (it used to be City Hall, then was somewhat shuttered) and thanks to a large grant was turned into a theatre and offices. As a theater, it's quite adequate. The chairs were brought from a local high school auditorium that was being remodeled, so the orange and brown are not so sexy, but are not meant to be permanent. There are ongoing projects like upgrades to the sound system, and they certainly need to keep working on the lighting system. It's better than it was when the building was first re-purposed, but they're still working hard on funding a more robust setup. I've seen many shows, concerts, and other events here and it suits the purpose perfectly. You're apt to find the mayor in the audience some nights; it's just a community theater. While I'm not in love with the setup of the stage (it's not bad from the back, but starts to feel kind of high the further towards the front you sit) it's just great to have little places like this available to community groups. You can rent the theater for a modest fee, or see what shows are running there. Typically you will find community theater productions by The Midvale Arts Council, or shows produced by Pinnacle Acting Group, who do some lesser-known shows with some talented actors. Parking is limited, so you may have to park a block down at the new city hall and hoof it. Grab some food from the Taco street vendor before, and hit up Mexican food Leatherby's afterward. Lovely evening.

I worried that the lawn experience might be like Usana where you're way, way back but this venue is much smaller, so you still feel like you're at the show. Everyone was really respectful but there were a number of kids running around. I was in the grass, but couldn't get over how much space was between seated rows, really nice. Still room to get up and dance or pass by. Ordering concessions through the phone app worked smoothly, but the tipping experience was frustrating. I bought an overpriced $8 packaged ice cream sandwich and was hit with a tip screen on the app that really tried to force you, it was hard to bypass even the "custom" tip field came pre-filled, and I had to manually type out to remove it. At $8 for an ice cream sandwich that I pickup myself, you'd think they could afford to take care of their employees.

Again, I am not even hanging out in. I'm merely passing through to get back and forth to my seat. I'm trying to have a good night, not be harassed by an old man for existing in a concert venue. I'm already on edge as a young woman at this venue, and the employees were incredibly unhelpful. The previous show I went to, a different older man yelled at me for taking a photo. How the heck am I supposed to enjoy myself here if I can't do anything? At least I got to see my favorite artist up close.

As a casual date night type thing this place is a bit expensive. That being said, this place is great. It is fun, a wonderful 5 course dinner. The food was excellent. I hope the chef never loses her edge in the quality of food she is producing. The magic show was better than I thought it was going to be. The magician was very good and kept people engaged and entertained. We had fun.

The dining room is very pretty when decorated for Christmas. I did not feel like it was crowded at all and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. No need to pay more for VIP. The food was very mid. We enjoyed the appetizer. But from there, most of us weren't too impressed. That being said the portions were generous. There was only one server to do everything for the entire room and he did a pretty good job keeping up. they do say that gratuity is included, but then ask for more money at the end. The magician John ACordo was quite funny. Part magic part comedy. He kept the show moving, and it was a very good length and he had us stumped. They often run specials. So watch for deals. a good event or a date night. No alcohol.

The shows are comedic and musical, with occasional moments of improvisation. So far, I've attended two of their performances: one was The Great Gatsby that was held in a parking lot. All the attendees circled their vehicles around a stage and watched from the Covid-safe spaces in their cars. I appreciated the creativity of the performers and producers of the show to be able to provide the entertainment while not being able to be " in person." The second show was last night and was at a restaurant. We were in a private room with every table filled. It was wonderful to see smiling faces that were not peaking out from behind masks. The show was entertaining-with tons of audience participation. If you don't want to be called out or interact with the performers, this might not be the scene for you. At the end of the murder mystery, the audience votes for who they think the murderer was-AND the appropriate punishment. I loved seeing the reactions of the cast members when they took their punishment-especially when one of them had to guzzle ketchup. It was hilarious! (I also felt a little bad for him, he looked like he was going to be sick.)

I believe their mantra is "We're Not Going To Do Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Not that there's anything wrong with that show, but I do have this theory that it's much like Seinfeld, in that no matter the date it's playing somewhere in the world. Because of the selectivity of their schedule, it's never going to appeal to massive crowds. And so they'll probably always have a limited budget and limited resources. They do squeeze the most out of those resources, and the shows look pretty good. They also find some good talent, so I've never been awkwardly underwhelmed. Worth checking out. Shows aren't totally expensive, and though they're simply staged and locally done it's still enough for real enjoyment.

Their shows can sometimes be edgy, but they always are high class productions. The producers hire talented staff who cast talented actors. I have seen these same actors play at Hale, Desert Star, Pioneer, and many other local community theaters. I am a fan of this theater company, I encourage everyone to check them out. Tickets are always available online on their website or at the door. They also sell apparel merchandise like shirts and hats. Concessions are for sale as well.
