Went in at opening at 8 am. No other customers there. Was refused service without an appointment. Four guys were sitting around doing nothing and they refused to serve me. I asked for an appointment for now and they said the next available appointment was in 5 days. This was for an RV. read more

I almost forgot why I don't patronize this place! I was having trouble finding a place to get my motorcycle inspected for street legal use. Four of the places I called answered the phone with their name and a pleasant greeting and after explaining for one reason or another why they couldn't perform my inspection, they all remembered my name and signed off with a "have a great day". One of those persons referred me to Quick Emissions so I reluctantly called them. The attendant answered "Quick Emissions". He told me they could meet my request and I said I would head that way and asked for his name. He responded, "Quick Emissions and I don't give out my name for safety reasons", (Insert face palm emoji here). The young lady at Burt Brothers gave me her name, Why you so scared dude?? Burt Bros. turned me on to Young Powersports in Layton and I was greeted and treated very well there. read more

Horrible horrible place. Do NOT go! They take advantage of young ladies and will fail you for the most rediculous reasons. They think because I'm a woman I'm stupid and don't know anything. I get my RV done at Quick Emissions in the past.But I guess they have new managment.Set up an appointment took it over and was told their machine was broken down.My plates expired in 3 days and had a camping trip the coming weekend.Tried to find someone else to do my emissions but all appointments where out a week or more.The next week set up another appointment with them(I know really stupid) just went over for my appointment and was told there machine had broken down again.I had called the night before to make sure all was good.So between 5:00 pm and 9:00am the next day their machine broke down.I know my business won't make or break them but hopefully this review will give people warning before they use them. read more

Horrible customer service. Manager is rude. "Tech" doesn't know cars. Shouldn't be working on cars if you don't know what you're doing. Failed my emissions test due to my car having after market headers. IT CAME WITH HEADERS FROM THE FACTORY! These guys are bad! Just thought I would relate the experience I just had with this shop. I stopped in there to get an emission inspection on a car that I had been fixing up. I waited 45 minutes and they finally came out and told me that it had failed because of an altered exhaust system. I told the technician that I knew it had not been altered and that it was a stock system. But he knew better because he had inspected thousands of these cars and this one definitely had an altered exhaust. He told me that in order to get it verified that the exhaust was stock, I would have to take it to the health department in Kaysville for an inspection. So I went to the health department in Kaysville and they said that the emission shop had sent them pictures of my exhaust and that it was a stock exhaust system. So I had to go back to quick emissions and have them inspect it again and wait another 15 minutes to get the inspection completed. So it took me almost an hour and a half to get my inspection completed. I will never go back read more

These guys take advantage of young women. My 21 year old daughter went in there for an emissions test only. She told them emissions only. I gifted the car to my daughter for her 21 birthday. Only the emissions was needed so that the title can be transferred at our appointment at the DMV tomorrow. They sold her emissions and registration for the upcoming year. I called the Store Manager James at the Layton location. He was rude. He kept cutting me off. After cutting me off a few times, I told him I was leaving this negative review on YELP and I was going to call their corporate office. He got all huffy with me and stated that I was threatening him. He said that there is nothing he can do. Is leaving an honest review about a dishonest merchant a threat? Especially when you are going through with it? Is calling up the chain a threat? No threats were made to his persons or any other persons. I also never threatened any property. I did talk to the GM James at a different location. He was reasonable and told me how to resolve this. I am avoiding this company in the future. With so many places that do emissions, it begs the questions on why they would want to lose a customer when I can easily go somewhere else for future year registrations. read more

My go-to for emissions testing on my fleet of six vehicles. Convenient, courteous, and, as advertised, quick.

Went in to get emissions done, and the tech failed me on the visual inspection. He first told me that since I had a Secondary Air Injection pump, it had to be plumbed into the air box. He said that the air filter fitting on the pumps hose was actually not connected to anything. Which is an absolute lie, since he obviously did not look behind the fender to see the pump. He also said that it had to be plumbed into the Air Intake to work properly. I tried to explain how the system actually worked, but he did not want to understand, or could not understand, how VW does Secondary Air Injection. He then said that since the catalytic converter was not stamped with CARB, it did not pass California Emissions standards. I asked him why that would matter, since I was registering it in Utah - and his excuse was that since it was built for California it had to meet California standards. You can see that they provide an additional air filter, to filter the air going to the Secondary Air Injection pump. It is not just a fake tube with a filter I have dangeling under my hood. If I could give zero stars I would. These guys have close to zero knowledge about cars and can't complete a visual inspection to save their lives. If I was trying to end it all, I would climb up to their ego and jump down to their IQ. They aren't able to see anything right in front of their faces. If you're looking for a waste of time and money, these are the guys for you. They don't know what catalytic converters or O2 sensors even look like. Somewhere out there, there is a tree whose single purpose is to replace the oxygen they waste. read more

I needed my emissions test and car registration, so I went to Quick Emissions. I pulled up into the bay. The worker WAS NOT wearing a mask. I should have turned around and left, but I needed my registration, so I stayed. They were quick, only 5 minutes. But when I went into the building to pay, NONE of the workers were wearing masks! I am an older person, so I am in the higher risk category for the Covid. I felt disrespected that they couldn't be bothered to wear masks. This is the only business I have been in in the recent months where the workers were not wearing masks. I wore a mask when I got back in my car, thinking that the worker who moved my car had been inside it, breathing. I opened my windows and tried to air it out. I WILL NOT be patronizing this business EVER AGAIN! read more

I brought my other vehicle here back in the winter and was thrilled with the service I received. Today not so much. The employee was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. I didn't reward them with my business this time and suggest to the owners that they rethink employing whoever was on duty today since they lost you someone who could have ended up being a loyal customer. read more

I took my 2003 Caravan in for an emissions inspection. The wait was long... They came back and said they couldn't inspect my vehicle. They said the system in Davis county had been hacked, and so it didn't work on some older vehicles. They said I would need to go to Weber County or Salt Lake County to get it inspected. This seemed strange, because that very morning, I had taken in my 99 Suburban to Jiffy Lube and got it inspected, so I decided to try another place just up the road. When I got there, I recognized another guy with an older Jeep who had been turned away from Quick Emissions, and he was told the same thing. Both of us were able to get our older vehicles inspected without a hitch. I called them back and suggested they not tell customers that they had to leave the county to get their inspections done... They wouldn't listen, and were very defensive. They said the county had told them this, and they were adamant about continuing to tell their customers that they had no choice, but to leave the county to get their inspections. I will be telling everyone I meet not to frequent this business! read more

Well, not the cheapest, but not bad, and probably the quickest--we hadn't even fully enjoyed sinking into the best leather couches I've ever sat on. Registered car, too. This is the second time we've had the same good experience. read more
