When I walked through the door I was disappointed to find a smallish shop with very few samples and a couple of people sitting at desks talking on the phone. But my disappointment turned to satisfaction after I explained what I wanted to the young lady who works there. She found several examples of my item in a catalogue, explained the differences between them, got on the phone and called vendors until she found it. It's ordered and on the way, and it's EXACTLY what I had in mind. If I'd gone into one of those big stores I'd probably have compromised, bought the best that they had in stock, and not been happy in the long run.

The time it took I watched an office working like a very well oiled machine. The owner and staff knew their products and prices without consulting lists or manuals. I can't speak to the quality of their actual work since we did not need repairs after all, but I can speak to their kindness, sympathy to the situation and professionalism. I had a thin scratch on one of the doors, and I bought a touchup kit at an auto supply store. Even when using its "pinpoint applicator" I thoroughly botched the touchup job, ending up with an ugly thumb-sized splotch that wouldn't smooth out or come off, and it ruined the truck's appearance. I expected to have to pay for repainting the entire door. But these guys were able to buff out the ugly paint glob, fill the scratch, and apply new clearcoat; the door now looks as though nothing ever happened, like new. Both the scratch and my messed up DIY paint job completely disappeared. The best part is that Phoenix Collision charged me the equivalent of a steakhouse meal, a fraction of what I was expecting. A less honest establishment would have charged me much more, and I'd have paid it without question. Thanks, Tony! I'll gladly recommend you to anyone.

I must brag on the service at Tom's Tire Pros I used to…read moretake my car to a dealership in town and really thought they were good until I discovered they had lied to me about some routine car care that they said they did, only to find out later it was, in fact, never done. They will remain nameless. It is not my nature to slam a business. Personally, it shook my confidence and trust, though. Fast forward. Had to buy four new tires after the discovery of the "false care" from them. My son recommended Tom's Tire Pros, so I bought them there. I had to charge them so had all of the road hazard insurance added. Then, I called and had the wheels aligned there and decided to go there for my oil change. The alignment and the oil change cost less than I had paid at other places in the past. The topper came this week, though. I had been hearing a loud squeak in the springs or frame or whatever??? I took it up to them to ask if someone could drive it around slowly and listen to it to see if it could be fixed or what it would cost. One of the shop guys did just that and came in and was telling the service writer what he did. I walked up and asked him to tell me. He said it was the stabilizer that was squeaking and something about struts?? I'm a girly girl so understood some of it, but bottom line, I could replace something or other, but it would be fine without it. He greased the squeaking really well, with it on the lift rack and it was gone. There would still be a popping in the something?? I never heard that to begin with, and haven't still.? So, I asked the mechanic if he would replace the part and he said no. I said okay, I'm not. The replaced thing was $600. I went to pay, and they both said " No Charge "!! I tried to tell them thank you but could hardly get the words out with out crying I told them how much it means to me to be able to trust a business like theirs again!!! Just can't recommend this place enough!

No discussion of what was done, what was checked, or what could be wrong with my car. I called and asked what was done, he asked what the name was under, put me on hold, then came back and said, "ma'am that vehicle was picked up".. I said I know, we just got home with it and I would like to know what was done and what's wrong with it. He said they didn't find anything.. if nothing is wrong, then why does my car have 1) a rough start 2) vibrates in idle and reverse 3) it shakes and acts like it wants to die 4) it died on my husband in PARK in the DRIVEWAY this morning. He said nothing was said to them about any of that. So I asked what they do in a diagnostics check. He said it depends on. I asked on what? "Ma'am it depends on the vehicle". I asked if was hooked up to machine or scanner or what's done... music started playing. He put me on HOLD. Without telling me. I waited SEVERAL minutes without anyone picking the phone back up, so I hung up and called back. I said that was "NOT COOL!" You put me on hold without saying a word and you didn't even come back. "Ma'am, I have 5 people here waiting. I'll call you back when I have time".. I said no.. that's rude! He was talking to me first and I want to know what's wrong with my car because nothing was said when my husband showed up. He was handed the keys and told to have a good day! He said plenty was said. So I asked l... again... what diagnostic was ran, was anything found because I need my car fixed. He said nothing was found that he told my husband he can try to change out the motor mounts (we ordered them the other day with transmission mounts also and they came in today), so something must've been said for him to tell my husband to try what he already had intentions of doing. I asked how a diagnostic can be ran and nothing show, when my car obviously SHOWS signs. They should've noticed when they drove my car to move it. "Ma'am, I'm hanging up. Don't call here again and don't bring your vehicle here anymore, we won't work on it".. I asked his name.. "My name is Shawn and I'm the owner and I'm telling you not to come back here again." I asked "WHY?!" I just wanted to know what was done. We took it for a diagnostics. "And we didn't charge you for that ma'am. Don't call back. Don't bring your vehicle back." .. And here I am. Writing a review to let EVERYONE know how rude and unprofessional "Shawn" and Gary's Automotive is! If there was a choice of "0" stars, I would've picked that, but I had to pick the "1" star. We have taken our vehicles there before with no problem, but not anymore. Not after today. VERY RUDE!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! ("Shawn Grisham" is the owner of "Gary's"). Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time or money on a place that's unprofessional!! *Adding that my husband said that Shawn cut him off while he was trying to tell him what was wrong with my car, to talk to another customer about a $4,500 transmission job... you don't do that! You don't just cut people off and turn to the next.
