    Blood work

The Quest Diagnostics in Weston was very organized and quick. My appointment was for 1:10pm, they called me in early, I was out by 1:12pm. It was professional, fast, and straight to the point. I was in & out in a heartbeat!

I'm being generous with the one star but the appointment check-in at their walk-up station was a cinch! Besides that, I will not only steer clear of this location in Weston, but I dissuade others from going there. They don't treat you like a patient but a consumer. On this appointment, I saw and heard (everyone in the waiting room was appalled!) a Hispanic phlebotomist come to the door to call on the next patient and when an elderly Spanish-speaking couple approached her for help, she was cutting and rude. At one point, she told the gentleman, "Stop yelling at me!" She knows better. He was nervous, hungry and upset that they had been waiting for over an hour and fasting (as so many of us were) but they kept bumping them over and again. He didn't yell at her, by the way. He was just trying to get an answer about a form he was holding and needed someone to guide him. As far as what happened to me, I am writing corporate, but feel free to look at my photos. The phlebotomist that took me in originally, couldn't find a vein. She kept moving the needle in and out--all around and I was in excruciating pain! When I asked if she could try another one and use the butterfly as my doctor requested in my order, she said that it wasn't their "protocol!" She then called the "trainer" who tried again in another arm and it was unproductive! Long story, short--she was going to have a third phlebotomist have a try at my hands as soon as she returned and "clocked" in by phone in the room we were in. The "trainer" in her frustration, kept tightening the elastic bands more and more till I thought I would pass out! She then gave me back my prescription and said: "Sorry, have a great day!" I left in pain and not one of them was adapt at drawing my blood!

I've never been more disgusted with the treatment I received at your Weston office today! I've…read morebeen going to that location for years and never had a problem. Their were two technicians working. An African American woman and a Latin woman. The African American lady is just a nasty person that hates her job and people. Upon checking in, she called me as the office was empty. She said "why are you here?" No good morning or anything. Mind you Labcorp reached out to me to schedule my bloodwork. "I said for bloodwork." She asked who my doctor was and I told her and she said she had nothing and just stared at me. I said your company contacted me so you must know I have work to be done. She said "nope'. I said I have never had to bring any paperwork or do anything but show up. She didn't reply. She just looked at me uninterested. I said you don't have much to say do you? No help or anything. She just looked at me with a nasty look and said nothing. I called my wife after and she said the same lady did it to her and our son a few months ago. She is an absolute PIG of a human and I'm quite sure this isn't your first complaint about her! She NEEDS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY! I WILL TELL EVERYONE IN MY COMPANY TO NEVER USE LABCORP! MY NEXT STOP IS SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU SHOULD NOT EMPLOY PEOPLE THAT DO NOT WANT TO WORK! I've been fasted for over 12 hours and stopped working out for several days to ensure accurate blood and psa testing. Not that anyone at labcorp cares!

What an embarrassment. This company could care less about their relations with paying customers. If…read moreI could give this clinic a zero, I would. I showed up for an appointment yesterday that I had made 2 weeks ago. The greeting at the front desk was "you're late". I apologized for being 5 minutes late but I was told I was 35 minutes late. The email that I had received from their scheduling department was for 2:30 but according to what they had in the system, I was supposed to be there at 2. Before I could show the girl at the front desk my email with my appointment time, she got up and walked away and got on her cell phone. She came back a couple minutes later and said she was sorry that they would have to reschedule me. I was scheduled at 2:30 at the Weston location to get contrast for my CT arthrogram scan that would be 30 minutes later at another location 5 miles away. She told me the tech left at 4 and wouldn't be able to stay an extra 30 minutes to do my scan. I kindly explained that I had not only taken half a day from work and lost pay, driven an hour and 30 minutes from Homestead, and was on a regimen of medication that was prescribed to me in order to facilitate the scan since I have an allergy to iodine (which the meds were giving me horrible side effects as it was) which made the situation that much worse for me. I was given the wrong appointment time by their scheduling department and they didn't want to fix the problem? That doesn't seem right to me. The stress of knowing for 2 weeks that I was going to be injected with something that could potentially put me into anaphylactic shock, the terrible side effects of the meds I was experiencing, the hour and thirty minute drive there, the loss of wages from taking time from work, the loss of wages from my wife taking time from work to be with me in case I had any allergic reaction, was not enough to remedy the situation. The solution, "sorry, you'll have to reschedule". I walked out extremely upset and received a phone call 2 minutes later from the diagnostic center where the scan was supposed to be done. I explained the situation and the girl told me " hang on, give me a couple minutes and let me see if there is anything I can do". I waited in my car for an hour for a phone call resolving the issue and never received one. Then I drove back in almost 2 hours of traffic with no scan and no resolution. What low quality service. There was no resolution for my issue or anything even offered or anyone to even talk to. Akumin should be ashamed at how they treated this situation and treated me as a patient who is paying for a service. I know they don't care and nothing will be done, but I wanted to share my experience with the community. I will be posting this everywhere including all social media outlets, and I will post this review on all platforms and file a complaint with the BBB, as well as write a formal complaint to my health insurance company. The fabric of our society has been compromised by poorly run businesses and people who simply don't care. It is sad to see how Akumin handled this situation and I hope they don't treat other people the way I was treated. When a company can't take ownership for something they messed up on and they make the patient suffer and waste their time and hard earned money shows that they do not have their priorities in order. How absolutely embarrassing.

I paid $150 and then a month or so later I got an invoice for $150. When I met the nurse practitioner, she was pleasant. I picked up my equipment, dropped it off at the emergency room, and got the results via email, but they were vague. I wasn't happy about that. I felt like I did not get straightforward results, and it was a waste of time. I'm going to follow up because I was not satisfied with the outcome.

The treatment plan called for 12 monthly injections, and she successfully received the first four at Cleveland Clinic Florida. We were then informed that Cleveland Clinic Florida would no longer administer the injections and that they would arrange for her to receive the remaining doses through another provider. Unfortunately, more than 2-3 months have now passed, and no treatment has been arranged. My mother's monthly Evenity therapy has been interrupted because Cleveland Clinic Florida has not been able to coordinate the continuation of her care. During this time, I have repeatedly sought assistance from the Rheumatology Department, Customer Service, and the Patient Experience/Ombudsman office. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, I have not received so much as the courtesy of a return phone call or even an acknowledgment that someone is working on the issue. This is a time-sensitive medication that is intended to be administered once a month. Interrupting treatment because of a failure to coordinate care is unacceptable, especially for an 88-year-old patient who depends on her healthcare providers to ensure continuity of treatment. I am posting this review in the hope that someone at Cleveland Clinic Florida will finally take ownership of this situation, arrange for my mother to receive the treatment that was prescribed, and improve the process so that other patients do not experience the same lack of communication and follow-through.
