Efficiency is the name of the game. I love that I can check in on my phone using the link sent via text so I do not have to use their touchscreen kiosks. I usually wait about 5-10 minutes before being called. After patient ID verification and specimen collection, I am right back out the door. There is very minimal chatter with the phlebotomist and the waiting room is also quiet aside from the TV. My average visit takes less than 30 minutes, which is perfect for a quick lunch-hour visit and then I head back to work. No complaints here! read more

Lied to me and said they don't do preemployment drug screening. I've been going through a clearance process for several months and this is the final step, so this is immensely frustrating. They referred me to another location that also couldn't do preemployment drug screening for me. They only have an automated number so you can't actually get any helpful information via phone. read more

What kind of nurse/doctor whatever she is, blames the patient for her own failure to properly draw blood for blood works. This is ridiculous. Some woman at this office punctured multiple holes in BOTH of my mom's arms and hands before she was able to draw some blood and then yelled at my mom for her lack of blood. This woman should clearly go back to school if she intends to stay in this profession but also needs help with her attitude. FYI, our doctor whom is on the next floor above this office has NO problem whatsoever with drawing her blood. read more

What a difference the right staff and tech makes. After my fiasco at a Brooklyn location the day before, the experience here was well above my expectations. Do I dare say it was perfect? I arrive a few mins early. There was a PERSON there to greet and help anyone that had questions or needed help. That's a major plus. After I registered my name actually showed up on the list of appointments. A few mins later my name was called. The technician pulled up my lab work order on the computer with absolutely no fuss. And FIVE MINUTES after my scheduled appointment I was done. No exaggerations!! This was my second visit there. The first was many years ago but I remember it also went smoothly. read more

The location is in Chinatown, it's on the 2nd floor of the building at the very end of the hallway to the left. The waiting room is enforcing social distancing- max 6 people in the waiting room, chairs are spaced out, hand sanitizer available, you have the option to wait in the waiting room or outside. I usually do a walk-in (though I think they do take appointments) on average I wait around 5 minutes, sometimes 2, sometimes 10. But overall I'm in and out, quick and easy. The techs I've had have all been good, nothing uncomfortable or painful (I also don't have a phobia of getting blood drawn, but regardless they are good). A few times ago they did forget to run one of the tests, but when I went in last time I mentioned it and she said she'd ensure it was on the next one! This time I had Angela and she was great! Very quick and efficient. I also like that they send your labs to your doctor, but I also get an email with my results as well for my portal when they're available. Honestly, that's why I choose Quest over LabCorp. read more

I've read a bunch of terrible reviews for all the Quest locations, but this one is near my office so i rolled the dice. I was a few minutes late for my 9am appointment. Only one other person in the waiting room. Check-in was easy and 3 minutes later I was called to the desk. I wanted to make sure that my labs would be covered by insurance. The guy said I would need to call my insurance directly to check. He was very chill about me stepping away to make the call. I came back 10 minutes later and he took me right away. The same guy the checked me in was the tech! He was very efficient. Needle stick was easy and pain-free. There were about 3 people waiting when I left, so I imagine this location can get busy, but I had a very easy experience. read more

I drop into Quest about once a month to get my blood drawn. I come unannounced at my own convenience. Beforehand my doctor calls in the tests to the Quest network. Rarely are their lines and the wait is not more than ten minutes. They've got locations all over NYC and even the country too. The technicians have been really good and can get the blood out with only one prick. Two tips: don't ever look at what they are doing and drink LOTS of water before you go. The more hydrated you are the easier the blood flows. Finally should you be out of state you can go to any Quest and they'll have your records and can take you. They take United Health care insurance and make results available on their app within 2-3 days. A great operation, super efficient and convenient, and I don't know what the negative reviews are about. read more

Do not use Quest for a Covid PCR test, you will NEVER get the results. I took a Covid test at one of the pop-up testing centers on a corner in Harlem. Dragonfly gave me both the rapid test and the PCR test. I got the results of the rapid test from Dragonfly in a couple of hours. Quest has NEVER given me my results. I followed all of the long and difficult instructions from Quest. I downloaded the Quest app, created a Quest account, requested the results. I requested the results and emailed "customer service" every day for the next 10 days (including today). A week after I took the test, I got only one communication from Quest asking me to take one further step, which I did immediately. NO RESULTS. This is the reason Covid has run rampant over the country. Shucksters like Quest get their money and run, never bothering to tell anyone the test results. read more

If I read the most recent review from 4 months ago about this lab location, I would not have made an appointment to have my blood tests done there. But before I went, I checked the reviews and found the first review wasn''t terrible! Well, too late as I had no time to change or cancel my appointment, so I went. It turned out the place was not crowded and was very clean and easy to check-in on an iPad without anyone's help. Technician Pauline confirmed my information and drew my blood. Pretty standard for a quest diagnostics. I've been to several in the city since I was born and raised here, and there aren't any I've seen that wowed me. However, when getting off the floor, it's kind of a maze. I had to literally walk all the way around and come back before seeing which way the office is located. Once inside, you check yourself in with something that looks like an iPad and not an actual person. Wait time was longer than the others I've been to. It was an hour or hour fifteen minutes before I was called, and there were maybe 6 people in the waiting room before me. However, I think maybe they were short staffed because I only saw two people working there. I have no idea exactly why it took so long, but the woman who took my blood did it very well, so I was happy about that. read more

I can't speak highly enough of my experience today at the Quest Diagnostics facility at 139 Centre St. My doctor had ordered around 15 blood tests and I was frankly uneasy about what it would take to get blood out of me. In the past I have been poked and pierced by inept phlebotomists who left me with huge bruises. The pleasant young man who checked me in at Quest attempted to get blood from me and quickly realized that he needed to call on someone more experienced. Pauline, who has been mentioned by other reviewers, took over and got blood out of me on the first prick. She drew most of the blood needed and then turned me over to another phlebotomist whose name was Angela, who was equally adept. I was very grateful that they were so competent. Quick, helpful and painless. I came at 1:30 on a Tuesday as a walk-in. The waiting room was mostly vacant, and a technician helped get me started on the electronic sign-in pad. 8 minutes later I was taken to room 2. The information process was quick and easy. I felt nothing when the needle hit my arm. I often am squeamish about this sort of thing, but this was a good experience. Then I was done. The whole thing was about 25 minutes. The phlebotomist here was just terrible. I do have small veins and can be difficult to stick, but it took her 4 TRIES!! Plus she had absolutely horrible breath, like when you have a very bad cold or a sinus infection. It was disgusting and completely inappropriate in a medical setting. The entire office is closed from 12pm-1pm for lunch break because there's only one person. He's the man. Although he doesn't abide by "appointments take priority" since a walk-in got called before me even though we got in the same time. It was an old lady so whatever. He's fast. He stabs me in the arms and take 4 tubes of blood then tells me to go take a piss. I do as told and the whole thing was over in less than 10 mins. I swear I thought he was only taking one tube. The reason I gave this place one star was because tge people were nice and it was easy to check in. I am a health care provider and went to have my blood drawn for an emergency appointment with my primary care provider. I would never return there and this is why: the phlebotomist did not use hand sanitizer prior to putting on her gloves and had been coughing into her hands. I asked her to wash her hands before putting in the gloves - which is proper procedure. She told me she just put on lotion on her hands! I know some people don't like to use hand sanitizer so instead can wash her hands well. She literally RINSED her hands with no soap - in fact there was no soap OR hand sanitizer in the room. In addition to THESE OSHA violations, she did not wipe down the phlebotomy chair with the bactericide wipes which were in the corner behind the lotion. I know she did not wipe down the chair because she had someone sit in the same chair directly afterwards. They really need to retrain these people or shut down this facility. read more
