I'm surprised to be updating a review of quest. I've tried to avoid this location for the last two years due to my long long wait the last time but had to schedule some last minute blood draws and a 11:40 appointment here was my only choice. I arrived exactly on time and was able to check in via my phone and skip the machines. Since they already had my insurance on file from another visit I didn't need to give it again. The screen showed a few people ahead of me but not many. My blood was drawn and I was on my way home within 20 minutes. I was amazed. Not sure if I got really lucky but I feel obligated to commend them on an excellent experience this time around. read more

I had a very concerning experience with my recent blood tests. About 10 days before my scheduled appointment with my doctor, I received lab results and assumed everything was processed correctly. However, when I spoke with my doctor, they informed me that my lab work had not even been processed yet, and that the samples taken from me were still pending analysis. This was extremely confusing, as I had already received results. This clearly means that the results initially sent to me did not belong to me. Later on, I did receive the correct results, but the fact that I was sent someone else's medical information is extremely concerning. Update // Additional info from my previous review: I learned something new today. As part of their policy, if you miss your appointment by more than 10 minutes, you need to reschedule. At this location, usually the walk in available slots are gone by 650 am. If you didn't get on the list by then, more than likely they will not be able to see you same day. This location is closed on Saturdays. Still a solid and reliable choice for bloodwork. read more

My first time there and I received informative text messages, leading up to the appointment. When I got there, it was busy but very efficient and I was seen at I think my exact appointment time. The woman who helped me was very talented and nice and other than having only one out of the four bathrooms working, it went really quickly. read more

I had to do a lab test and I made an appointment in this location because it was the only place available when I was looking online. The service was great and I was taking care of at the time my appointment was set up. It's located on a shopping center and parking it's ample. I got the results two days later and everything was good. My insurance did not cover the entire test but I was able to pay right away with the same lady that did my last test which made it super convenient. read more

If you like being treated like cattle or a number this is the place for you. Must be nice to own a cash cow with no emphasis on care, guest satisfaction or empathy. No one to talk to in the waiting room about anything. Like the fact that you checked in and received a confirmation text but aren't on the checked in screen on the wall and have not been called 45 minutes after your appointment time that you arrived on time for. I understand the system is down but where is a customer service agent. Fellow guests crowd the door looking for anything resembling help, sympathy or information. If you don't check in via the text, lines can be long with the less technology inclined clients struggling at the self check in with no sign of assistance. Where do I start? -Appointments take months to schedule, so you are forced to walk in if your test is urgent. -If you are a walk-in, it doesn't matter if you are the first person to arrive when they open their doors, they will not see you. You have to wait hours and your name never moves position from the waiting board (that's if the board is working). Be ready to sit 2-4 hours waiting. -One of the phlebotomist has a potty mouth, throwing the f* word while talking to you. -A couple of times my child left bruised up because the phlebotomist kept moving the needle around. -Hygiene is also a concern as equipment is handled with the same gloves that opened the door. -To drop off a (time sensitive) sample, they make you wait. -I have to say that both locations on Bird are equally horrible. Location (5761 SW 40th ST STE C Miami, FL) should assign someone to assist customers out front to address patients with questions, especially for older individuals unfamiliar with electronic check-in devices. There are always people waiting by the locked door for someone to come call the next patient so they can ask questions. Unfortunately, some workers respond rudely to patients, and the wait times are excessively long. Everything seems so rushed! They permit walk-ins but often keep you waiting for a considerable time, only to inform you later that they're running behind and unable to accommodate you. This puts you on a Stand-by list as if you're attempting to catch a flight at the airport. From personal experiences, it's suggested they either don't allow walk-ins or only accept what they can manage. Instead of letting people sign in as walk-ins and wait for a long time before informing them they can't be seen. Also, if your going for a Drug test kindly refrain from arriving at your appointment with a full bladder, as there are no patient restrooms available at the front, and the wait time to be called back can be quite long. They will allow access to the restrooms in the back office but you will have to wait for someone to come unlock the door. Upper management needs to implement changes to improve the flow of operations. read more

It was a horrible experience. Everything is automated and no physical person to assist you. They don't check computer to see if digital scripts are in so after waiting hours I was told they couldn't do test. My doctor was not in office so had to leave after fasting for more than 12 hours. I've been using Quest for a long time and I've never had an issue. It's easy and quick to make an appointment - online or telephone. FYI, none of the centers accept walk ins on Saturday so don't even try it. Other than that Monday through Friday the centers walk ins. The center is located on the second floor and always kept clean. I prefer having an appointment because within 5 minutes I'm call in. The staff is patient and gentle when doing their job. Once you go inside they have an area where you can wait if needed. The center definitely deserves their 5 stars. read more

The pandemic has understandably had a profound impact on our healthcare system and providers and I certainly appreciate the challenges this industry and its workforce deal with on a daily basis. That said, there are still some basic courtesies, customer service standards and fundamental communication protocols that can and should be followed. Unfortunately, none of those were in place when I went to this Quest Lab location today for a basic series of blood tests for a standard annual physical. Sharing this out of extreme frustration but also as a way to provide some perspective to others planning to visit this location any time soon. Here are the basics: Appointment scheduled for noon. Arrived at 11:45 am Left at 3:04pm Total time spent at location 3 hrs, 19 mins...for a routine series of blood tests. Upon my arrival, appointment information could not be found in their system, although I had the appointment confirmation with me. Only 10 people can be inside at one time, and they were at capacity when I arrived. There were 5-6 employees inside At 1 pm - an hour after my scheduled appointment - I asked an employee to please see where I was on the list to be seen ... I was informed that they were "running behind" but that I would be called next. 25 ppl were then called ahead of me. People with appointments for 1 and 1:30 were showing up and being let in. One customer arrived to simply drop off a sample and they were told they'd have to wait behind all the others. This location closes at 2 pm. At 2 pm, two of the 5-6 employees left. At 2:44 I was finally seen In addition to the poor customer service and horrific communication, I'm also concerned about the health and safety protocols in place there. The attendant drawing my blood used the same gloves to key my information into the computer as well as interact with me. To the leadership team at Quest Diagnostics - please establish nicer, clearer communication practices so that your customers have a better understanding of wait times and processes. We all do better when we know what to expect, even when there are unforeseen delays. And please take a closer look at your operations at this location and consider establishing a "drop off" capability and determine how you can better staff this location. This place is a disaster. There is no concern for the pandemic here. People congregating around the door and in the lobby with only one employee trying to manage the crowd but losing control. Also, some phlebotomists were wearing their face masks below their nose, clearly a violation of safety protocols. Finally, I went in for a urine test, but the center was out of urine kits. No one bothered to tell me before going in - a very disrespectful waste of my time. The attendant said I would need to make another appointment. When I asked if someone could let me know when the kits arrived, her answer was "no, we have too many patients to call you." When I asked if they expected me to make an appointment and take the risk of the kits still being out, her answer was, "yes." read more

2-3 hours long waits. They are always short on staff. And the ones working are very slow and constantly taking breaks.

I got here at 0847 for my 0930 appointment. Needless to say at 0921 I'm still waiting. I have been number 1 on there little TV board for the pass 10 mins. I went to the front desk and the very unhappy gentlemen told me I would be called next. That did not happen. They have since called 2 more people in before me. Current time 0924 and still waiting. At 0928 I was finally called to the back by Carina L. Very pleasant and professional. She is the ONLY reason this place received 2 extra stars instead of the 1 I was going to give this place. With all this said don't waste your time with an appointment just go as a walk in and take entertainment. read more

I call Quest Lab customer service three times & spoke with three different representative I have send copy of my payment they never credit my balance. The customer service is not liable to resolve any patient issue. They never call me back to let me know the outcome of the information sent. I don't recommend to pay anything to those people up to the front. They guy who took my payment probably takes the money to pay his lunch. read more

Smooth laboratory experience... only waited 18 minutes! A Thursday around 1pm. I was a walk-in, did not schedule before coming. I fasted for that long, but I also think most people come very early in the morning because they are hungry. There was no-copay for lab work with insurance. BTW they close at 3pm. For me it was too cold inside even while wearing a jacket especially as I was drinking water to stay hydrated for the blood work. However, everyone one else in the waiting room didn't seem to mind the temperature meaning it was probably just me freezing but since it's Florida I just walked outside briefly and my temperature was regulated. At arrival: just sign-in at the tablets and on the TV screen it shows the approximate wait time. Then when called I only turned-in my Doctor's referral. The lady at the front desk is attentive, & the nurse who did my blood drawn did a fantastic job. She asked if I was nervous before placing the needle. Thus, was caring. I dislike needles, blood, getting this specific test, & being poked in my arm. She let me choose if I preferred a specific arm, yet I didn't mind so she went with the left as that's the one the chair seems to be tailored for. My veins are both very easy to find which made it even quicker. The bandage they use is extremely secure so it didn't fall throught the day, I had to remove it which is ideal. Hi! I am a frequent flyer in coming to get blood work. I like coming early in the AM and usually get in and out quite quickly. My experience with the Phlebotomists has been very positive. They check me in quickly thru the tablet, they either have me wait a few minutes or call me in pretty quickly. The ladies are quite friendly, double check it's you they need to stick before sticking you with a Needle. They are using Personal Protective Equipment and encourage others to use a mask during this time of COVID-19. This is very important to me because I am immunosuppressed and I know the staff here are trying to protect themselves and us. Today I came to the Chula Vista Telegraph location and Nancy the Phlebotomist was very professional, experienced and friendly. I honestly didn't feel the needle go in. That was especially nice. She was compassionate and very mindful of everything she did. I felt very safe and comfortable with her work. I would recommend Quest to others. The place is clean, a bit cold but nice. read more

The moment you walk in you are treated horribly. The front desk staff all have a bad attitude along with a horrible face very unhelpful. I have literally been waiting for three hours before the tech finally got to see my sister. Can't believe people like these are working in a facility that is suppose to have your best health interest in mind. No compassion - nor accommodation towards pregnant women. Staff is constantly looking at the time like they're in some sort of rush not caring about the patient's comfort. The tech that helped my sister was so rough and caused her so much pain totally ridiculous. I waited for four hours at a Laboratory in Freeport, NY just for them to tell me "the system went down, come back another time". The statement was made without empathy for the hours a dozen of patients have waited. I felt disrespected like never before in a medical office. There was a specific worker that was nasty to everyone with an attitude and it was the Dominican worker whom I forgot her name but works there. As we were leaving, one person said "how could you do this to us?" she abruptly responded "we want to get out of here!" while she opened and stood by the door as an indication to get out. read more

I have been taken care of by Quest for at least 10 years and am happy to report that today, November 8, 2022, I was taken care of by an outstanding Nursing Associate who took my blood sample. As an Industrial Psychologist, Customer Service is very important to me, and I must say that Gardenia, your Nursing Associate, was outstanding in her Customer Service because of her professionalism, calm, competent, polite, friendly, service, and when she took my blood sample, I felt no pain at all. I also take a blood thinner, and Gardenia was able to make sure I did not bleed intensely when I left Quest. If you have United Healthcare - beware. Quest is no longer in their network. Unfortunately for me, I didn't do my research so I went to Quest assuming my health insurance would cover the blood work. Despite giving them my United Healthcare card, and despite the bloodwork request paper from my doctor reading LABQUEST (I know, I totally ignored all the signs) - the person processing this request couldn't have given less of a damn. Every time I remember me smiling, going about my day taking care of this errand on a Saturday and having the admin smile back and take all my paperwork and not mentioning "Hey lady, STOP! This is a horrible idea you are going to regret." I get sick to my stomach. Worst yet, I brought my husband along to do that same, the person who processed his papers didn't say anything either. I'd like to think there was an ounce of human decency in the world, but it certainly does not exist in the world of Quest Diagnostics. Healthcare in this country involves a lot of shady practices and QD is being a bad player in this game. Now I have a $500 medical bill when it would have otherwise been free. Shame on me. I scheduled my appointment to get blood work done online and used this location because it was closest to my place. I showed up 30 minutes early because a couple of family members have had terrible experiences here where they've had to wait for over an hour to be seen. You can imagine how happy I was when I showed up and there were only 2 people in the huge waiting room. My wait time was about 2 minutes total.
