They make you sit…read moredown and call a guy in a call center in India and tell them all your information in a packed lobby. I went through this whole process just for them to tell me they don't take our insurance AFTER 15 mins of verifying the insurance. I gave them the secondary insurance that they did take and they still weren't able to verify. I'm honestly really tired of ER's/ doctors offices/ urgent cares making you go through elaborate processes because they don't want to handle paperwork.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to make patients check in using a phone clearly didn't think it through. It feels like the front desk is avoiding doing their job by having sick patients check themselves in, and it creates unnecessary contact points where germs can easily spread. If someone comes in for a non-illness-related issue, they're now exposed to germs from everyone touching the same equipment. As for the care itself, I will say the medical team is fast, efficient, and provides quality treatment. However, the front desk experience completely overshadows that. Another major issue is the lack of privacy. The front desk openly asks patients, "What's going on with you?" in front of the entire waiting room. While I was there, a man came in and had to quietly tell the receptionist he had diarrhea -- in front of everyone. That's embarrassing and absolutely not how patient information should be handled. These conversations should be left for triage in a private room, not asked out loud in a lobby full of strangers. Because of these issues, I will not be returning to this location.

I went on 3/26 because I had already been sick 5 days with a cough, phlegm, fever and chills at…read morenight, and muscle aches, and was given a ted talk by Catherine, the nurse practitioner, that she thinks the medical establishment wants to keep people sick and that antibiotics wreck your immune system, and that the clinic has been giving out antibiotics like candy but no more, and that she thinks you need to be sick two weeks before getting any. She even bashed glp-1's. She eventually agreed that if I didn't feel better by day 7 then she would write me a prescription. I called two days later at 1pm on day 7, Saturday, and was told she was busy and would call me back. Never got a call so I called at 5:10 and nobody would answer. I called just now at 8am Sunday and was told that a note was put in my chart that she spoke to me and told me to take OTC drugs until Monday. I never spoke to her by phone, so that's a lie, and why would I wait till Monday when she said day 7? That would be day 8. I explained this to the girl on the phone and she said, "Well that's what it says on your chart." I asked to speak with the nurse practitioner that was there now and she said she was busy with patients and wouldn't prescribe me anything without seeing me. I said "I'm a patient." And she said "sir, you need to either come in and be seen again, or wait until Monday." So I spent $150 for nothing, and now they want another $150 to get what I should have been prescribed already. I've been coming to this clinic for years, even back when it was doctor's express, but this experience has been awful and I'll never use this urgent care again. I'm a self pay person because I don't have insurance, and so I only come to the urgent care if I'm really sick. I always try and stick it out to save money, so when I do come it's because I genuinely feel awful and need help, and these people have treated me like a drug addict looking for an antibiotic fix. I feel like they got my money already so now I'm just a nobody. I'll never come back here.

The visit was available online through online scheduling. He arrived early as directed online in the online scheduling portal. All paperwork was completed prior to him walking in. At walk-in he was told they would not see him because they had two other visits and wouldn't be taking any more patient. He had an appointment made through their portal. If they were not taking any more patients the appropriate thing to do is to close out your visits. Poor patient experience. They didn't even check him to make sure he was ok before turning him away. He's a student at UMHB. We are not there with him and would expect hours listed on the website and appointments made to be honored.

As I walked, they just finished mopping the floor and the lobby floor was so wet, they had the caution sign but anyone can fall if you're not careful. The wait took forever and I was the only one in the lobby. I thought maybe, the rooms were full, negative. I was the only one patient. As they take my X-ray, I was in pain trying to position myself and at one point I had to hold the plate on my stomach for them to take the X-ray. The nurse was nice and all but the machine looked like a dinosaur. The Dr and nurses in-charge was ok but the front desk girls was friendly. The highlight of this visit was their snack station.

Now, Total mens Health gave me my appt the next day and even asked if I wanted to come in that day. Doctor was thurough and prescribed antibiotics and I feel better. M.A. did a great job with drawing blood. Did not sight for vein but felt for vein which is the correct way to draw blood. Clean rooms, clean atmosphere and Superb Doctor and Doctor will replyy to your messages as he has done with me. YOU WILL NOT get that at BSW or Coryell clinics!
