There are a few locations around town but, this one was closest to me. This is a multi business office building. The parking was easy and the office was fairly easy to find. Not the case. I came to be in and out and was the third person in line before the doors opened. I mentioned that I was there for a mishandled sample thinking that would get me to the front of the line. But no. Then you have nobody to help these elderly people to check in. So I basically spend 5 minutes helping the first customers check in. I should get paid for clocking in. They then proceeded to take all the appointments before prioritizing me. I know it's sounds like first world problems, but if you guys don't know how to do your job, why am I suffering the consequences? I'm now late for my next appointment. My first complaint was there was not enough seating. When I got there I had to stand. Came back, had to stand again. My second complaint was, Wendy tells me after I sat there for 20 minutes that their printer was not working and directed me to Fed Ex up the street. Thirdly, after I returned I knocked on the reception window with no response. I sat there for another 20 minutes before Wendy ushered me back. Attitude sour AND did not handle my specimen properly. First thing was I had to ask for my copy of the visit. Second, my specimens was NOT put in their baggy in front of me. Thirdly, my left over urine was left on the back of the sink when I left. Oh, did I mention the BACK printer was working?

I'm so glad I did--my total was only $96.41, compared to the $226.00 I was quoted elsewhere. The Process: Scheduling was effortless, and the online intake forms were quick and user-friendly. When I arrived, the lobby was clean and the front desk staff was very welcoming. I was seen right on time, which was a pleasant surprise. They even offer a coffee and water station; although I was fasting for my appointment, it's a thoughtful touch for other patients. The Appointment: Tess performed my ultrasound and was wonderful. As someone who had never had an ultrasound before, I was feeling a bit nervous, but her calm nature and clear explanations immediately put me at ease. Pro-Tip on Parking: My GPS originally led me to the taller white building next door due to the similar addresses. Look for the shorter, black glass building. If you do end up at the white building, don't worry about fighting the 8:30 AM traffic to move your car--you can just park on the side between the two buildings and walk over!

I made my appointment on a Friday for the next Monday. I was fortunate that they had a time that worked for me. I completed my paperwork PRIOR to arrival as requested via the link that One Step sent me. Upon arrival at 12:15 PM, my ID was confirmed. Receptionist was polite and accommodating. At 12:25 PM I was called for my 12:30 PM MRI. The young man that greeted me was kind and considerate. Although I had done MRIs previously, he was professional in explaining the need for ear plugs, etc. He gave me an approximate time for completion of the scan, which was appreciated since there have been times when I was in an MRI that seemed endless (at other locations) . . . because I wasn't advised how long it would take. He also spoke to me during the scan to give me a countdown of how much had been completed and how much was remaining. I would absolutely go to this location again . . . even though it is much farther away from my home.

I gave her my information and she said that my insurance was being verified (although I had already looked this provider up and verified it myself). I was told that I would receive a call back to schedule once insurance was verified. So I waited. Once Monday came and I didn't hear back, I attempted to call again. I called repeatedly, getting the same "mailbox is full" message. Finally, after about the 15th time of calling, the same person I spoke with last week answered the line. I told her I need to schedule for the MRI and she told me I need a doctor's order. I told her it had already been called in. Before I could give her my information, I could hear her suddenly talking to someone else about an appointment. I firmly called out, "Ma'am?" I said this several times then suddenly was disconnected. I am not sure if this person who answers the phones is capable of doing her job. Needless to say, I am going to call my doctor and ask for the orders to be called to another location. I recommend not using this provider if you can help it. However, the actual provider may be fantastic if you can make it past the person answering the phones. I don't know because I couldn't get that far. :)
