    I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my experience at one of your locations during a…read morescheduled pediatric appointment for my one-year-old child. I have visited this location before for my own lab work and previously noticed the front desk employee had poor customer service skills, but I chose not to say anything at that time. However, during my most recent visit, her behavior was unacceptable and needs to be addressed. When I was called to the window, she asked for the doctor's name, which I provided. She then began working on the computer and mentioned an estimated charge, which I was prepared to pay. I explained that I did not have the physical copy of the lab order paperwork and politely asked whether she was able to pull it up electronically. In a rude, condescending tone, she responded, "That's what this is for. Where do you think I got the estimate from?" Her response was unnecessarily disrespectful and unprofessional. I simply asked a reasonable question because she had not explained what she was doing. I told her that there was no need to be rude. Another customer present also commented that her attitude was unnecessary. After the interaction, she also loudly vented about "what's wrong with people today," which was inappropriate and unprofessional in a customer-facing setting. It seemed she failed to recognize that the issue was not the customers, but her own rude and disrespectful behavior. People should not be expected to tolerate being spoken to in that manner. The lab technician who assisted afterward was kind and professional, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the front desk interaction overshadowed the visit. It costs nothing to be kind and courteous, especially when working directly with the public and families bringing in young children. This employee's demeanor reflects poorly on your organization. I will not be returning to that location because I should not have to deal with disrespectful treatment. I ask that this matter be formally reviewed and that appropriate customer service training or corrective action be taken. Thank you for your time and attention. Others, beware.
