Went in for a lab test for which I'd made an online appointment, got there early & was taken back immediately. The tech, Crystal, was nice, funny, cracking jokes. She did mention that it had been very busy earlier so I lucked out with my timing. She dealt with my paperwork efficiently & the whole thing was a positive experience. Got home to find a message on my phone, something had happened to contaminate a bunch of lab tests in their van & would need to return to get it re-done. Wasn't too thrilled although I definitely felt for the tech who had to make a whole bunch of calls to let people know they'd have to return to get their lab tests done again. I was annoyed of course but it certainly wan't her fault. Returned early the following morning without an appointment, waited about 15 minutes, then someone else did my repeat draw & he was also nice & efficient. Afterwards Crystal popped out to apologize again about the previous issue requiring the return visit. She also did something amazing to help me deal with a transportation problem, which I'll never forget. Thank you so much! The only issue I have is with trying to contact Quest on the phone. They don't have anyone there to answer their phone. I finally found a national number on the website, called & was informed it was out of service & to call yet another number. After the normal runaround to reach an actual person they were able to somehow connect me directly with the local Quest & I was able to speak with a person. The 5 stars are for my experience with the employees there. Absolutely amazing. read more

What a horrible, horrible place. Waited an hour for my appointment, without anything but a "sorry ". These are medical tests ordered by Doctors. Why even take appointments if you don't honor them. Walk ins were helped before appointment holders. However they know they are horrible and don't have a receptionist but a kiosk for checking in. No responsibility at all. Ahhhhhhhhhhh This place is frustrating!! Phone number to call a human - nope human to talk to in the main lobby - nope i am all about using technology, but having an iPad set up to set an in person appointment is somewhat frustrating especially when it fails to record you correctly. We set up our appointment for walk in said 940am. it was 9 when we set the appointment. Said we would wait in car. waiting till 945 then went into the lobby, never was notified, talked to a person when they picked up someone who we watched walk in sign up and get served before us. they said to re sign up, WTF! we did new time 1030am. we waited and did get served but this process sucks. Staff was nice the only reason we gave 2 stars. We brought a box to get completed but they can't do this. Frustrating. We continued to go thru with the other items needed but probably didn't need to get done here. We paid $148 for the bloodwork but this would have been free or less at the second location we went to. I am frustrated because they should have told us to just check there before we went thru the bloodwork here. I feel for the staff because it seems like this place is just struggling with staffing and everything but there has to be a better way. This is not quality of care. I'm looking for when getting blood work done. Unfortunately this is one of the only options in town and the other options that we have are just as bad as this one. read more

This review is for the Laurel St location only. Once I got in, The phlebotomist was quick, professional and efficient. No reception, no one to answer a question. The lobby was crowded, standing room only. I had a scheduled appointment, but didn't get called to the back until an hour after my scheduled appointment. No one informed us of anything. This is unacceptable. I only like Quest for the quick results and the online viewing. I will reconsider ever coming back here. read more

Unfortunately I think this place gets a lower rating strictly because of being understaffed. Those who do work there are clearly busy, have a lot on their hands as there is a lot of business coming through the doors and they do their absolute best. Not to mention they are kind individuals. There is no one working the front desk to help streamline things unfortunately so it's a bit awkward as a customer who comes in with questions, especially as a walk in like myself. I had to wait quite a bit because I was a walk in and would have just put off til a reso if I would have known. But as mentioned this was no fault of the staff themselves. Also, technology seems to be outdated here as it froze and closed out numerous times making the whole process more lengthy and frustrating for the staff. I arrived early for my appointment and waited 10-15 after my appointment time to be called. They also tried calling someone in before me- who checked in after me. We both had appointments. Also there was only 1 person in line before me. The lady that helped me never told me her name or her qualifications. As a medical professional, not introducing who you are and what you are going to do, is rude. It was very unorganized, and the office was unprepared. For a 1 tube blood draw and urine sample it took over 40 minutes beginning to end. I had an unpleasant experience and hope they will improve their staff politeness, professionalism and readiness for the future. read more

Any other lab will have better customer service. They literally don't have a human you can talk to when you check in, only a computer kiosk and expect a 3 hour wait before you leave frustrated because when you holler around the door eventually again for help, no one will be able to advise whether you're in the cue or how much longer you may have to wait. read more

I was sent to Quest to do a time sensitive drug screen for work. No where online does it state that drug screens are stopped at 3 pm. I arrived at 15:05 and was told they couldn't collect it. I drove all the way into town for this and the rude Eastern European woman at the window made no effort to assist me. I'm extremely irritated that now I have to waste another day coming into town for something that should've been completed today. I thought coming in 2 hours before the business closes would be enough time, apparently I was wrong. This rude woman walked away instead of offering any assistance. I'm extremely unhappy with the attitude I received and dismissiveness. Thank you for wasting my time Quest! read more

I have always loved Quest. We found a lady a long time ago who could always get the sample every time. My only problem is this: it is extremely hard to make an appointment, as it is all automated or online. You can't speak to a real person, and it has been totally frustrating. Because of this, most of the time I choose to go someplace else for my labs. There are many people who suffer from disabilities, and this system is not customer friendly at all. After reading the reviews, I was a little leary going in today for my blood work. I arrived without an appointment at 7:28 am and the doors were promptly opened at 7:30 am. I was in and out in less than 25 minutes. This was an excellent experience for me. read more

Horrid experience at Quest on Laurel street, Anchorage alaska. After being told it would be a 'couple of minutes' we were kept awaiting more than on hour. Once behind the door blood was taken per interpretation of the lab order. Not only was the blood taken out of sequence (all at once from one location instead of 15 min intervals from different sites) but there were not enough blood vials needed for the cultures to meet the orders requirements. Then when challenged the tech says 'oh well, come back next week'. DO NOT GET LAB WORK DONE THERE. If the sample draw is so poorly done think what the actual lad work must be like and how acurate the result might be....or not. Two hours spent and will start tomorrow at a better lab. No doubt they will try to bill.....then we go to court. read more

I went to Quest Diagnostics to have a blood draw prior to a physical with my doctor. I had not been able to verify that my doctor had sent over orders for my blood draw so I called Quest to see if they could confirm that they had received the order from my doctor. I was not able to find a way on the phone menu to actually talk to the local Quest office but as I listened to Quest phone message it states "...if we have not received your orders we will call your physician and you will still be serviced". The message had advised earlier that you do not need to call the Quest office to confirm that they have the orders. The message also stated that walk- ins were welcome. So I headed into the office for a blood draw. When I got there a woman with a strong accent sent me back to one of the waiting rooms. She started putting information into the computer and then stated that they did not have any orders for me. I asked if she would then call my doctors office and request the orders, she replied that they were not allowed to make these calls. I told her that I had just listened to the message on the Quest phone number and it stated that they would make the call. She said it did not matter, she would not make the call. I played the recording for her and she rudely stated it still did not matter. I asked if her supervisor was there, she said no, I asked for a phone number to her supervisor and she gave me the name of Kim Thacker and a phone number. I called the number and a phone message stated "this person is not taking calls at this time, please call back later". I told the attendant this and asked if she had another number, she replied that she didn't twice. I questioned this and said "really, if you had an emergency you have no way to get a hold of your supervisor" She then admitted that she had a personal number cell number for her supervisor but she would not give it out. She then made a call to her supervisor and apparently confirmed that they would not make the phone call to my doctor. I then went out to the waiting room and made the call myself and quickly got the orders faxed over. When the fax was received and I was told I would be next, I asked a question about payment as I wanted to make sure that it was charged to Medicare, not my doctor. I received a response from this same attendant to the effect that this was not her concern. THANKFULLY another attendant overheard our tense conversation and quickly rescued me from the woman who had been "helping" me. His name was Tom. He was very friendly, quickly processed my information and did the blood draw. Thank you Tom !!! Tom gets five stars but because of the incorrect information on the website and the lack of any assistance that I received from the first attendant I am giving this review one star. read more

Despite other reviews, I had a great experience at Quest. I went in for a blood draw--I'm terrified of needles--expecting the worst. I was met within 5 mins of checking in, it was quick, easy, painless. The doctor was professional and friendly, made it super easy!! read more

This place is horrible! I don't even know why I came back, but this morning I arrived at 7:15 to make sure that I got an early appointment at 7:30 when they open. I have fasted all night and all morning, taking time off work, waited in the cold until they open only to be told that they had lost my doctors orders. This is not the first time this is happened. Like I said, I don't even know why I came back because multiple times in the past or Phlebotomus has had to stick me four and five times to even get blood. They are not customer service oriented at all, the receptionist seem to delight in telling me that she couldn't help me and I had to go away. My advice to you? Save yourself the aggravation, don't be a training pin cushion for their phlebotomist, find a professional outfit and go there. Oh yeah, don't even try to use their website. It's completely ridiculous with multiple phone calls to the corporate office just to try to login, then the next time I try to login only half of my results were there. This place sucks on the highest order! read more

I had to go in for a company/insurance check. The man took my BP right after I sat down from coming out of a different room to check height and weight. When it read higher than normal, I mentioned that he might give me a couple of minutes and recheck. He did so and second result was closer to my norm (I donate blood several times a year and know what my normal BP is). Unfortunately, he reported the first (inaccurate) reading to my employer/insurance and I got "dinged" for it. Not a happy camper and Do Not Recommend. Also, although I had an appointment, I waited for at least fifteen minutes before I was seen. And when I saw my results this morning, I tried calling and had the same experience as the other reviewer and was not able to speak with someone or leave a message. Very frustrating. read more

What a horrible phone system and service they have. It seems it is absolutely impossible to actually talk to a person if you have a question. I was cut off twice trying to get to talk to a live person, and they lost my business because of it. They never once offer to give you customer service and when you ask for it their phone just cuts you off. read more
