Standard Fasting Lab Work Blood Draw!
    Richard N.

Who likes getting lab work am I right? But to stay healthy you got to go and get your annual labs required from your Dr. in my case I get them done 2X per year. Drs. office sent orders for them over 10 days ago and so all I needed was my insurance card. They open at 7:30 I get there around 7:45 two others are ahead of me. I had to fast no food or drinks except water for 12 hours before. So I'm there and there's a Express Sign in Kiosk you just press a touch screen and it asks you to scan the back of your Drivers License ... you do and if you have labs done it figures you out by the DL and auto populates your insurance info, everything. Since my Drs. Have been sending me to LabCorp for years it truly knew who I was and Express Check In Was FAST! So the day before I called and left a message, I wanted to make sure my phlebotomist was fully vaccinated. I didn't get a call back. So after checking in I asked if I could request a fully vaccinated tech. I had had labs before going out of country and the phlebotomist at my Drs. office who worked for LabCorp too never got the vaccine. I was taken aback. I said we're all vaccinated. We're going on a month long vacation, why aren't you, you had the first opportunity being in healthcare to get the vaccine? She said I'm young I don't need it. That was in April 2021 the Delta Variant is now ripping through the USA. So the LabTech said what if we're not vaccinated? I kind of looked at her and she asked one of the techs are you vaccinated? She said she had 1 dose. I said I'll take you. But another phlebotomist tech was fully vaccinated and I ended up with her. Nice lady new to Alaska originally from England. Moved up from Louisiana with her husband. Love foreign accents. We chatted about the vaccines and why people were being ridiculous and that Covid is preventable. Blood drawn after a little todo about lost paperwork, I called my Drs. office and they Re-faxed the lab requests but good experience. Gave my Phlebotomist restaurant recommendations, Haute Quarter Grill, South and Pangea.

    I'm not dead!

She did mention that it had been very busy earlier so I lucked out with my timing. She dealt with my paperwork efficiently & the whole thing was a positive experience. Got home to find a message on my phone, something had happened to contaminate a bunch of lab tests in their van & would need to return to get it re-done. Wasn't too thrilled although I definitely felt for the tech who had to make a whole bunch of calls to let people know they'd have to return to get their lab tests done again. I was annoyed of course but it certainly wan't her fault. Returned early the following morning without an appointment, waited about 15 minutes, then someone else did my repeat draw & he was also nice & efficient. Afterwards Crystal popped out to apologize again about the previous issue requiring the return visit. She also did something amazing to help me deal with a transportation problem, which I'll never forget. Thank you so much! The only issue I have is with trying to contact Quest on the phone. They don't have anyone there to answer their phone. I finally found a national number on the website, called & was informed it was out of service & to call yet another number. After the normal runaround to reach an actual person they were able to somehow connect me directly with the local Quest & I was able to speak with a person. The 5 stars are for my experience with the employees there. Absolutely amazing.

What a horrible, horrible place. Waited an hour for my appointment, without anything but a "sorry…read more". These are medical tests ordered by Doctors. Why even take appointments if you don't honor them. Walk ins were helped before appointment holders. However they know they are horrible and don't have a receptionist but a kiosk for checking in. No responsibility at all. Go anywhere else but here.

I went early in the morning no appointment necessary, and was in and out in around five minutes. She was so efficient at the blood draw I barely even felt the prick of the needle when she did the blood draw. This was my third time of using their service and I have been satisfied each time. I particularly like the fact that you don't need a Dr.'s referral for tests. It does say right on the form that they don't do coding, and a patients insurance may or may not pay for the lab tests. Doctors are generally the ones who provide the codes. I would recommend their services.

Going to this LAB is the worst experience we have ever had in having our lab work done. 1) BAD…read moreservice, careless repeated attempts to get the vein resulting in painful holes and bruises afterward, and unhelpful responses at every turn. 2) the paperwork was illegible resulting in our insurance not being able to read the form (which I tried to have corrected at the time of the blood work). We have now had to send in our claims twice and we are still not able to have it covered as the lab provided the wrong codes. When I went in for help, they told me they could not help me and could not provide a corrected form so the insurance could process it. 3) The lab and lobby were not clean and very makeshift. It was not professional in any sense. We were thoroughly disappointed. We will never use this lab again for our medical needs.

Not only do the mistreat your employees but they overstep their treatment and leave the employer with exposure and risk for legal action. From the employee standpoint it's a horrible place to go. Waiting 45 minutes to be seen and then having them tell my husband he needs to fill out paperwork. Then throwing out my urine for the UA. All while treating him as though he was lucky to be there. On top of that I gathered all the documents required. I submitted them 3 times. Then they are denied because they don't see a form that was included. I could go on but we've been run in circles and mistreated. Avoid this place at all costs! UPDATE: because we called and complained about having to redo all the documents because the new PA hadn't requested them the PA called my husband's employer and said he shouldn't be working anywhere. He hasn't lost his job but Beacon has again overstepped. Perfect example of what I stated originally.

I do not recommend this clinic unless you have very good, comprehensive medical insurance.
