Upon walking in, you are greeted and in awe of the beautiful sitting area with its amazing stained glass dome. I found myself in awe each time I walked through. The rooms are also exceptional. Very tastefully decorated and not over the top, as some other higher-end hotels seem to be, lately. I also found that the cleaning service and turn-down service were magical. I don't know how they seemed to know when I had left my room, but upon my return it was always clean, and at night the turn-down service was a lovely surprise to find a small mint and a linen mist on my pillow. Now let's talk about something which is an often-overlooked feature of a hotel stay: the breakfast. This is typically a throwaway perk that anyone who travels a bit understands. At best, it's a spread of cereals and maybe a bagel or two. Most of the time it's served in a crappy lobby with coffee that has been sitting there for hours and servers who want to be anywhere else but there.  It usually screams, "Eat fast.  Please leave." Not here. Oh no. Even the breakfast is next level here. Sure, it contained all the normal things you would expect, such as bagels, toast, and cereal, but then they took it to the next level with some beautiful doughnuts, sliced meats and some cheese, yogurt with all the toppings you could want, and a beautiful selection of sliced fruit. However, what really made the breakfast experience phenomenal were the people. Specifically, Amesh, Epon, and Mohin. Each morning when I would walk through the doors, I would be greeted, and they would immediately take a coffee or tea order to go make it themselves. They were also incredibly friendly and attentive. I found their smiles infectious and a great way to start the day. This type of attitude was prevalent amongst all the staff.  They were simply the friendliest people of my day, and that really meant a lot when you are thousands of miles from home, in a city you don't know, by yourself.  Thank you!

Upon booking our room using the Marriott Bonvoy app, there was no indication that we had to pay an extra £105.25 on top of our point redemption; not on the app, not on the email confirmation. Upon checkout, we were told we didn't owe anything. When we were emailed our folio with the charge, we called the hotel and they said they would email us. No email came. We will have to find a resolution for this. If we had known there would be an additional charge above the points redemption, we would have just stayed at our other hotel room. The place had some nice architectural details, but everything else inside needed to be replaced. They looked old and dated. Also, I posted this review on Google maps. Looks like they deleted it. Update: We spoke with Marriott Titanium customer service. The hotel eventually credited us a week later, claiming it was a mistake to charge us. The funny thing is we lost almost $2 USD because of the change in the exchange rate.

It didn't even really directly impact me as I stayed on the highest floor, but I felt bad for the folks who were staying at the room right below mine lol I tried to walk in my room in a tip-toe fashion. Besides that, clean room that was tidied up well each day during my stay. Zero noise from rooms adjacent to mine. Courteous front counter service as well. Highly recommend adding the breakfast buffet service if your London trip is geared towards sightseeing and is less fussy in terms of where to have a hearty breakfast; I very much enjoyed the buffet offerings here especially the English breakfast items! Huge plus that the hotel is about a 3 min walk from Liverpool Street train station!! Station includes Heathrow-airport-connecting Elizabeth Line and M&S Simply Food for convenience store needs.

First and foremost, the best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. My fiance and I spent 5 nights total here and had no issues getting around to all the touristy things, since the Liverpool Street station is basically a block away. Plus it sure doesn't hurt that it's a straight shot down the Elizabeth Line to get to and from Heathrow Airport! With regards to our hotel stay itself, we were in a suite on the top floor. The suite was quite spacious with an area that was sectioned off with a couch and a LOT of empty space (great for our suitcases and whatnot), but everything just felt kind of old and worn in our opinion. Additionally, I didn't love that the shower had no door and was partially open to the rest of the bathroom because I had to be more careful about not getting water everywhere outside of the shower. Overall not a bad experience but definitely not the best, though we didn't spend much time in the room anyways. As globalists, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast every morning with the breakfast buffet. The food was good, and they had a very nice spread ranging from hot foods to breads to pastries to meats & cheeses. Additionally, you could order a la carte off the menu as well, and I quite liked the spiced omelet that was offered! Service overall was solid, and they even welcomed us in our room with a chocolate mousse cake since we were celebrating my fiance's upcoming birthday on this trip!

My big mistake on our trip: bulling check staff, non working TVs, moldy bathrooms, just to mention…read morea few. To be honest I love staying at IHG group hotels and why I'm a club member and always look for a IHG hotel to stay in. We just stayed at the Crown Plaza in Harrogate for 2 weeks for the second time, right before we came down to London. It was amazing, the staff was beyond professional. Check in was easy and everyone throughout the stay was incredible. The TV worked, the bathrooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the rooms service was amazing. My big mistake... booking at IHG hotel Indigo in Tower Hill. We booked here because it was close to Eataly and it was part of the IHG family which I trust and we only had one night to enjoy in London. We went to check in and Natty who helped us was the least unprofessional and the most rude. We had booked a room for two and my sister had missed her plane last minute. So I said she could stay the one night with us until she could get the next flight out the following day. I tried to explain this to the man at the check in. He said absolutely not in very rude terms. I understand this was probably a silly hotel policy and not the staffs fault, so I agreed but understandably was frustrated. I paid £180 for the extra room, so my sister had somewhere to sleep. Even after paying for the extra room Natty at check in was still condescending and rude to us. The woman working behind the desk was amazing and was trying to help, but Natty just brushed her aside and kept being rude. Not wanting to engage further unhinged the employee as we all left. It was noon when we left our bags which they said would be taken to our rooms and went to lunch until 3pm check in. We came back around 5pm and thankfully the check in staff had changed. We asked for the two rooms keys and the staff on that shift were so professional and helpful. We were on the 5th floor and the second room I had been forced to booked for my student sister was on the 7th. (We were never told on checking in that the 7th floor was only accessible by one floor of stairs) We came up to the 5th floor where they said the bags should be and there were no bags. My wife and I had two heavy bags because we had been traveling for two weeks and my sister had a small bag she packed for a two day trip. Not seeing the bags in my room I thought maybe they were taken to my sister's room on the 7th floor. So we tried to make our way to the 7th floor. In doing so we realized the elevator only goes up to the 6th floor and you need to take the stairs to the 7th. Once in the room, all our bags were there. Figuring this was some kind of pay back Natty who obviously had something against us. I decided to carry our very heavy bags down the stairs to the elevator on the 5th floor. My only guess to why our bags were not left on the 5th floor is a mean joke played on us by the unprofessional check in man. I have a bad back so this wasn't easy. After we got to our room, myself and my wife just wanted to forget about it all. We got changed and went to dinner with my sister at Terra in Eately. It was amazing we really suggest it. We came back to the room and tried to watch tv. The only thing that came up was DTV 1, the TV didn't work. Again I think another prank from the guy that checked us in. It was already 930pm and my back was hurting for carrying the bags down the stairs so we just went to bed and not call down to complain. On waking up the we decided to take a shower and the mold on the bottom of the shower pan and the ceiling somehow so neither one of us wanted to take a shower. And with day light we could see how bad the stains were on the carpets. I have to say the IHG Indigo hotel Tower Hill is the most disappointing hotel I have ever stayed at in the IHG family. I was forced to pay for a second room because my sister missed her flight. Then we were bullied by Natty who sent all our heavy bags to a floor where he knew we weren't all staying because he knew we would need to carry them down. Then we had a TV that didn't work, which I'm guessing he knew as well plus I'm sure he gave us the dirtiest room because this is not how IHG hotels are in my experience. All in all it was a pretty terrible stay for me, my sister and my wife I'm sorry to say. IHG I know you can do better we saw it at the Crown Plaza in Harrogate!

If you're on the Tower Bridge side, you have an absolutely incredible view. It's truly amazing to go to bed or wake up to that view. It's also in a great location for tourists, steps away from the Tower of London and other historical sites as well as from boat, subway, and bus stops. I don't know if we were just lucky, but it was shockingly quiet in our room. 8 nights and not a single audible peep out of neighboring rooms. Slept like a log every night. Comfortable bedding, good water pressure. When we booked we add the option to add on the breakfast buffet to each morning at a good deal (it's $25 pp otherwise) and the food was solid. The buffet has made to order omelettes, scrambled eggs that were surprisingly not overcooked even on a hot plate, fried eggs (same), sausages, rashers of bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, pancakes, etc. There's also continental options of all the pastries, fruits, cereals, oats, breads you could want and coffee machines that make decent coffee. Now for the less than great-- at the top of the list is the inexplicable room service. You have a switch to indicate "service room" or "do not disturb" lighting up outside your door. That's great. You can also use a "do not serve today" ticket on your door for a voucher for food/drink (we did, never got said voucher). We asked for wash/face cloths every day and only one time during our 8 night stay did we get any--2. We'd ask at the desk, they'd send someone up who would say they were out but to ask tomorrow. Never got them. When our room was serviced, they did odd things-- there's an in-room Nespresso machine (awesome!) but after using it once they never refilled the pods. I asked, they sent 2 decaffeinated pods one time (I wanted any others). Instead of removing dirty dishes, they would place my book from the bedside table over a dirty cup. They put a toothpaste tube I bought inside of a clean glass (?!). They would sometimes take dirty towels, sometimes not, but never refill without us calling to ask for more. They never vacuumed. It wasn't warm when we were here, but though there is an AC switch I'm not sure that it does work. The TV cuts off intermittently. Just watching a show, it will click off as if in a power saving setting (we checked and no such settings were in effect). Not a big deal, but at the end of a long day trekking around London an hour of TV at night was sometime wanted, and it was aggravating. We asked the desk and they said they'd look into it. TV probably just needed replacing, seems a common error for that model. Some things could use an update, which they are in the process of. So-- it was safe, quiet, and in a great location with great views. Service lacked a LOT to be desired. It's a 3 for me, and everything needed to make it a 5 is completely under their control. So please, do a bit better? It would make all the difference for your guests who are here from all around the world to experience something great.

The breakfast spread was surprisingly good. * Old but updated: The hotel is definitely on the older side and could use a remodel. While the rooms themselves are updated and comfortable, the hallways have that kind of worn, dated vibe. * IMPORTANT: There's no air-conditioning! I would not stay here in the warmer months. * Location: It's close to the tube and the Elizabeth line, making it super convenient to get around. Plus, you can easily walk to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Overall, your experience at Travelodge London Central City Road may vary, but it's a decent budget-friendly option.

Our first visit, however, was a small room, not sure why. The location near water side cafes, tube stops, Tate Modern ,Globe Theater, tower bridge, Tower of London made walking 10,000 steps a day easy and enjoyable. We walked from London Eye to the hotel with water view the whole way. All good. Skip the offered ( awful) breakfast, which is $$ for the poor quality. Go to restaurant across the street for breakfast lunch or dinner or meander one street down for quaint cafes. The building lights up purple which makes it easy to see when walking home at night. The AC can go down to 19C, but feels much warmer, so stuffy at night and early morn. They use a " cab" company but it's like Uber and only take cash, no set price, so clock ticks in traffic, which they failed to tell us.!!Go to the street and hail a proper black cab, registered and takes all cards with set price. The folks at the reception desk gave us directions five times. Each time resulted in the wrong directions! Each employee gave us convoluted and incorrect walking directions which frustrated us each time. I kid you not. In the room there are no toiletries, no rolls of toilet paper,no washcloths and no bathmat. One soap dispenser, near the sink and one in the shower, includes shampoo and soap in one. The toilet paper, you pull out of the dispenser, one square of the time ,as you sit on a toilet seat that wiggles from the wall. Although the bed is spacious and comfortable, the mini television sits in the corner of the desk, on an angle from the bed , which makes watching awkward to say the least. The price is right for normally very expensive London hotels,So one needs to decide if they're willing to spend an extra $75 a night for a better place or stick with good location, decent night sleep ( drapes do not cover the entire window so night time and morning time light shines into the room)and basic accommodation.

The hotel was conveniently located near an Underground stop, but we opted not to use public transportation and relied solely on Ubering and taxis. The check-in process was simple. The staff as a whole were not very friendly, but there was one front desk staff member who was always friendly. We did not encounter her everyday, but when we did, she provided the same level of customer service without fail. The room was small but nice. It had some cute features that I have come to expect from the Novotel brand. It was very comfortable. The lighting in the room was modern and the bathroom shower/hotel room wall was glass, but it was smoky so you could not see through it completely for privacy purposes. The room appeared clean, but I brought my own products to sanitize it to my personal standards. The breakfast plan was purchased as part of the accomodations to eliminate the need for finding breakfast every morning. Breakfast was complete with whatever struck your fancy for the most part and featured a standard English breakfast and then some. The pancake maker was a nice feature. I did not like the texture of the pancakes, but it was a novel idea in theory. As an added mention, some of the wait staff were cordial. After one weird encounter and there were many, I was over eating breakfast in the dining room and elected to take breakfast to my room for the remainder of my stay. All I can do is shake my head in disbelief. As an entire experience, the area provided an interesting experience, but not necessarily in a good way. From the staff not being very cordial/welcoming here to the other tourists/guests being rude, this was completely not what I expected. However, we never wavered, but it certainly altered my purview of the world as a whole.
