This is quite an interesting place.
The good news:
I decided to stay an extra night, cause I like it.
The bad news:
The hotel obtained its licence in 1967 and I am quite confident in saying that since then nothing much has changed.
The details:
Rooms without Bathroom, just a sink, in an old (Victorian?) building in a beautiful area off Belgrave Road in Westmisnter, near Victoria station. Walkable distance to a lot of sights.
VERY quite dead end road outside.
In the room one wouldn't know what country this could be in, the toilet & bath might rather be somewhere in a backpacker's place in India.
All clean, really, if you don't mind the carpet in the whole house which dates back to ... well, I guess quite some time.
I had to book on shortest notice and found 25 (today 29) quid for a single quite reasonably cheap for London. That is for a single though.
Amazingly helpful staff, three men I have encountered on the counter so far, all exceptionally helpful & friendly.
I dreaded the Breakfast but actually it was quite surprisingly pleasant, including Muesli or other cereals, heated croissants and bearable coffee.
As you see: Some sort of Internet access, free.
I'd stay here again, no joke, but in winter with a decent internet browse one might find the big chain-hotels offer in a similar price bracket but on a different planet. read more
