Okay-- I AM glad we stayed here and the most important things about a hotel were in place for The Tower Hotel so I'll start with the good. If you're on the Tower Bridge side, you have an absolutely incredible view. It's truly amazing to go to bed or wake up to that view. It's also in a great location for tourists, steps away from the Tower of London and other historical sites as well as from boat, subway, and bus stops. I don't know if we were just lucky, but it was shockingly quiet in our room. 8 nights and not a single audible peep out of neighboring rooms. Slept like a log every night. Comfortable bedding, good water pressure. When we booked we add the option to add on the breakfast buffet to each morning at a good deal (it's $25 pp otherwise) and the food was solid. The buffet has made to order omelettes, scrambled eggs that were surprisingly not overcooked even on a hot plate, fried eggs (same), sausages, rashers of bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, pancakes, etc. There's also continental options of all the pastries, fruits, cereals, oats, breads you could want and coffee machines that make decent coffee. Now for the less than great-- at the top of the list is the inexplicable room service. You have a switch to indicate "service room" or "do not disturb" lighting up outside your door.That's great. You can also use a "do not serve today" ticket on your door for a voucher for food/drink (we did, never got said voucher). We asked for wash/face cloths every day and only one time during our 8 night stay did we get any--2. We'd ask at the desk, they'd send someone up who would say they were out but to ask tomorrow. Never got them. When our room was serviced, they did odd things-- there's an in-room Nespresso machine (awesome!) but after using it once they never refilled the pods. I asked, they sent 2 decaffeinated pods one time (I wanted any others). Instead of removing dirty dishes, they would place my book from the bedside table over a dirty cup. They put a toothpaste tube I bought inside of a clean glass (?!). They would sometimes take dirty towels, sometimes not, but never refill without us calling to ask for more. They never vacuumed. It wasn't warm when we were here, but though there is an AC switch I'm not sure that it does work. The TV cuts off intermittently. Just watching a show, it will click off as if in a power saving setting (we checked and no such settings were in effect). Not a big deal, but at the end of a long day trekking around London an hour of TV at night was sometime wanted, and it was aggravating. We asked the desk and they said they'd look into it. TV probably just needed replacing, seems a common error for that model. Some things could use an update, which they are in the process of. So-- it was safe, quiet, and in a great location with great views. Service lacked a LOT to be desired. It's a 3 for me, and everything needed to make it a 5 is completely under their control. So please, do a bit better? It would make all the difference for your guests who are here from all around the world to experience something great. read more

So glad I found this hotel. Staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The view from my "tower view" room is absolutely fantastic. Wonderful view of the bridge and the south bank of the river. 5 minute walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops, and the Tower Hill underground station is an 8-10 minute walk, connecting you with the rest of London. Hotel is wheelchair friendly and so is the nearby underground station. Restaurants and shops nearby are also wheelchair accessible. The bed was soft, plenty of pillows, and the shower has plenty of hot water and built in toiletries. If you're looking for a hotel in London close to a lot of great food, shops and attractions, the Tower Hotel is a solid bet. read more

We stayed here during the height of an exceptionally hot summer. The hotel purports to have air conditioning but it doesn't rise much above the lobby. The lobby is a beautiful area with a shop for snacks and sundries and a coffee shop. The concierge offers exceptional service. The location allows you to walk to the bus or tube or you can catch a water taxi right outside; very convenient. There are also shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel restaurant offers a full breakfast buffet. It's very busy and very good! The rooms are not very big but they are well maintained and functional. The windows don't open much but in normal weather it would have been plenty to catch a good breeze through the room. The hotel did provide us with a fan and buckets of ice to cool the room down as much as possible and they can't control the weather. We were on the 5th floor with a perfect view of the Thames and the Tower Bridge. read more

We spent five nights in the Tower Hotel from April 18th through the 22nd. It's a nice hotel with a good location. We upgraded our room which got a coffee pot, fridge, soft drinks, and breakfast. The room had a small footprint. The bathtub/shower required a high step to access. Anyone with mobility issues would be challenged. The breakfast was served buffet style, with adequate options. I thought the quality of the food was good. The location is adjacent to London Bridge and the Tower of London. We arrived Heathrow and took the Tube to Tower Hill Station that got us to within about 3 blocks to the hotel. Loved the quick access to the tube. The hotel was clean. The service was good. The only problem was really slow elevators. We enjoyed our stay. read more

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. We had a fantastic stay here for four nights in July of 2025. I see a review saying the rooms don't have air conditioning. Maybe they had a broken one or maybe a super old not remodeled room. Our room had a perfectly working AC. Check in was fast and easy, service always good. Nice hotel and the rooms were large and comfortable. Great views and easy walking to lots of popular locations. Only negatives are it's a pain for cars to get into and the elevators were crazy slow. read more

Sigh... where do I begin? Pros: - Absolutely unbeatable view of Tower Bridge (if you're lucky enough to get it - not all rooms face the bridge). Cons: - Rooms feel like a mid-tier motel - extremely basic. - Poor location for drivers - constant tourist crowds, construction, and very limited first-come, first-served parking (even for paying guests). - No apparent elevator from basement garage to reception floor (I could be wrong but I didn't see any). - No air conditioning; tiny window openings make summer heatwaves unbearable (as of August 2025). - Not worth staying in the city just for proximity to an office or pub (which was our reason). Better to stay outside London and take the tube. Bottom Line: Stay here only if you care about nothing but the view, don't plan to spend time in your room, and can handle sweltering conditions in summer. Otherwise, look elsewhere. We actually left a day early and just ate the cost because we didn't want to deal with coming in/out of the property. read more

Usually I stay up in Camden when I visit London but was meeting friends for a short visit so planted ourselves closer to some of the touristy areas. I requested a bridge view and was not disappointed at all. It was worth the price of admission. The room itself was adequate. Clean and a comfortable bed. I would suggest they begin a remodel of the rooms to remove the very high sided tubs and switch to walk in showers. I can see the tub being an extreme mobility issue for many older clientele . It would also be helpful to add a small fridge to the rooms as many of use like to store our beverages cold. read more

The 2 stars are for the fantastic view of the bridge and the harbor & it's close proximity to amazing places. Housekeeping issues: I put the sign on the door knob not to be disturbed but they came in anyway. I made compliant with the manager but nothing happened. Housekeeping came in again. I made another compliant and all the manager said, "We are aware." I hoped they would take action but they were just passive. I felt disrespected and not listened to. It is supposed to be really nice hotel but it didn't feel like it. They don't take good care of the rooms. They needed work - sanding, pant, repairs. I would add pictures but I don't see how I can add them. Not every room has a frig, which is must for me. So I had to upgrade my room just for a frig. Spent 2 days there. The good: Bedrooms are decent. You need to understand the way to indicate you are in it otherwise you might have someone coming while you are sleeping. The medium: Coming after a long flight and having to wait for 3:00 pm to get in the room was a bit unwelcome. the food in the restaurant is ok but don't expect medium and how dare you ask for medium rare the bad: the concierge is not really working for you but rather sells overpriced tickets. Hotel Review My family & I, three in total, reserved and stayed in the Family Room.  Which includes a bed and a pull out sofa bed.  The view from the room was unbelievable!  Started the trip off just right, then... - Gym: The gym is underwelming.  Very small, limited free weights, no wipes in the gym to wipe down equipment before/after use.  Water, yay... water in the gym on Day 1.  Day 2... no water.  Went down to the concierge and asked for water and asked if they could restock the gym.  Was told they do not keep water in the gym.  I said, "You do, I saw it..." and was cut off curtly.  I just left it alone.  Grabbed the 2 bottles he provided and headed off for my workout. - Room Amenities: I was trying hard not to call, but the basics were missing.          * Toilet Paper: No toilet paper after the room was serviced.         * Towels: Had to call and ask for an extra body towel twice.  There are 3 of us, and 2 body towels will not be enough after showers         * Face Clothes / Wash Clothes / Flannels: Had to go down to the concierge and ask for a set for my family so we could wash our bodies.         * Fold Out Bed: No pillow cases or sheets the 1st night.  Called down and had them brought up.  2nd night, after all had showered and we were preparing to go to sleep, noticed that during room servicing, housekeeping took the comforter, sheets, and pillows.  Had to call and ask for a new set.  Ugh.  Made sure to place in a small closet each day after to avoid repeated takeaways.         * Shower: There is mildew in the shower.  Mostly up high, but still, yuck.         * Drawers: There is pretty much none in the family room.  I'm not sure about other rooms.  Our room consisted of 2 side bed tables with 2 small drawers and a desk with 3 desk drawers.  Nothing else.  I called down and asked for more hangers so I could have our room set up for our stay. The guy was shocked when I asked for more hangers and was like, "How many?!"  Serious confusion and pure dismay/disgust that I would ask to not live out of our suitcases.  Note I asked for 20.  Again, I am a family of 3 and staying for a week.  There were about 5 in the room to start. And we had outer wear due to cool weather and rain. - Buffet breakfast.  Eat else where.  It's not worth it.  £22 to have a limited selection of the following:         * Hot Food: fried eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans, and an omelet (never saw anyone at station to prepare requests).         * Bread station: toast, bagel, a couple of different pastries         * Cold Station: cereal, cucumber, dates, yogurt, and a couple of other cold items.           * Drinks: Some juices, coffee (Americano, Regular Coffee, Espresso, Latte), and water.          * Pancakes:  Oh, and while I appreciate the novelty of an auto pancake maker... not worth the hassel.  Pancake machines make mini pancakes about 1 inch - 1.5 inches in diameter and take 60 seconds to cook, and it only cook 1 at a time.  I had to wait 15 mins as someone before me concluded their multi handwaves, and then I had to do my muti handwaves.  Note... you handwave.  It cooks and the rolls down conveyer belt, drops on plate, then you wave again.  I wish they would just cook the pancakes and place them in the buffet with the other hot foods. -  Laundry: Yes, they offer, but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS.  It is charged by item.  See pic.  I found a pick-up service that came to the hotel and was able to do it at a fraction of the price.  Still about £46 and would equal 1 load of whites and 1 maybe 2 loads of darks depending on the size your normal load.  I also asked for the separate wash, so darks and whites could be washed separately, and that did cost more.  I used a service called "LAUNDRYHEAP".  I downloaded their app, placed laundry in the hotel, provided laundry bags, and dropped off with a concierge prior to 12 pm and had it returned the next afternoon around 2 pm.  Instructions and details are on the app.  Clothes came back clean and smelling great! - Location: Right at Tower Bridge and The Tower.  The closest tube (Underground) would be Tower Hill, which is about a 5 min walk.  Bring your comfy walking shoes.  Traveling anywhere in London via a Taxi vs. the Tube (Underground) takes literally about the same amount of time, including you walking to the Tube but at a fraction of the price.  We absolutely used the Taxi as a novelty and then quickly learned the Tube (Underground).  Between the "TFL" app and "Google Maps," we were off and about all day. - Snacks: Room Service stops around 10 pm.  Only drinks are provided after.   Need a snack, walk around the corner towards the Tower Bridge to the Telsco.  Water, sodas, juice, chips, candy, fruit, a great selection of so much more is available. read more

The hotel location is 5-star! Unfortunately, the room itself was a 1-star. We booked an Executive Double with a Tower Bridge view and we were given room 581. The VIEW was superb, without a doubt. The room did NOT look anything like the pictures online. The room is in dire need of maintenance and repairs. No amount of cleaning can help a room that just needs to be refurbished. The paint was peeling off the walls, the grout in the bathroom was moldy and stained, the window sill was covered in dirt, and everything needed updating. (See pictures). On top of the poor room condition was that the air conditioning was not on for the building and there wasn't any way to circulate the air. The small windows barely opened, so we did not get any breeze or cool outside air. The room temperature was around 80 degrees, all day long. We had to leave the curtains closed (there goes the fabulous view I paid for) just to keep the room cool enough to sleep in. We requested another room from the staff, but the hotel was booked. We had to request 2 fans just to get the air circulating. It was awful. I submitted my post-stay review and the management didn't even respond, so they clearly are not committed to providing a quality experience for travelers. I can honestly say that the price ($300 per night) of the premium room with a view was NOT worth it since the room was in such disrepair. I would NOT stay here again due to the condition of the room and the lack of attention to repairs. read more

I travelled in January and decided to stay at The Tower Hotel because of its location. When I arrived, I immediately noticed that the place had quite an outdated interior from the lobby to the rooms. Parking was a challenge and so is trying to get food delivered. When I first arrived to my room, I immediately noticed that the bolt on the door is broken. With that being a security concern, I went downstairs to the front desk to ask for a more secure room with the same view. Not only did they move me away from the promised view of the Bridge, but once again, the bolt on the door is broken even in the second room. The part that's supposed to keep people from barging in is completely gone. I expressed my safety concerns repeatedly at the front desk but it was dismissed. For my 5 nights staying at this hotel, I had to constantly request a new card as my door wouldn't unlock. I went back atleast 3-6 times a day, sometimes getting locked out of my room at 3am. Some nights even the security staff walked to my door and had difficulty with the keycards. One of the nights I was locked out, I was waiting at the lobby for someone to unlock my door and the person working the front desk accused me of not being a guest there, despite dealing with the repeated issue I'm having with my door. The bathroom is old, dirty, and outdated. Forget about trying to use the tub. The staff repeatedly dismissed my concerns and no one ever apologised for the issues I had to deal with. read more

The truffle chips also had no truffle just aioli. You are right next to the tower bridge so great view and service was decent. I would find another place to eat as there are a few that offer the same view but likely with better quality food for the price. read more

The room we chose was river front, in the image you can see how lovely our view was. The room was spacious and had two individual twins. The room includes coffee, tea, an ironing board, an iron, and TV. The room gets a light cleaning so mostly make the beds, remove trash and fresh towels. They also replenish the toiletries. The water is not consistent in temperature at all it will go to a cool fresh shower to a hot one (if you're trying to get warm or hot water) the tub is nice and deep for those who may want to take a bath. The breakfast was included in our stay and they have a variety of things to offer, which was really nice. The staff are friendly and attentive. On a side note the hotel is a little further from tourist attractions so you will need to find public transportation to take you there if not renting a vehicle. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definitely come back!! read more

Do yourself a favor and find a different hotel! Truthfully nobody goes on vacation to have a bad time or make complaints. From the moment we arrived we were told our pre-paid room had been sold to another party and the rooms were sold out. A Receptionist named Gini was adamant that we did not call reservations prior to our arrival. We physically showed her proof of our call for her to realize she was wrong. She allegedly said her Manager was contacting reservations on our behalf to receive a proper refund for the room they sold to another guest. Next, the hotel room was horrible! No heat during the winter. They provided us a tiny space heater that did nothing. We slept in our coats to keep warm! There was mold in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, and the shower water would suddenly go from hot to cold in an instant! Really do yourself a favor and do not stay here! read more

The two stars are solely for the view, if it wasn't for that I'd give zero. I'm still confused as to how this hotel can be given a 4 star rating. The rooms are extremely dated. I can understand being "historic", but there are definitely modifications that can be made. The bathroom was the worst part. The tub looked like it needed a good scrub and even worse, the drain seemed partially clogged and we were standing in a good 1/2 inch of water during the shower. Overall, I would not stay here again, but I will say the location is very good. You can walk to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge is just steps away. Just be aware the rooms are not modernized in terms of furniture/bathroom amenities. read more

Staff were friendly. However, I requested an early check-in and was told it would be £30 extra, one-time to which I agreed. But after over 20 minutes of waiting and watching the clerk clack away at the keyboard, I would then be told that no rooms in my same "category" were ready. However, for "only" £45 more, PER NIGHT, I could have a room straight away but it would have twin beds. I was so jet lagged and exhausted, I took what I could get. I sh oh I'd have measured the width of the "twin" I had to sleep on bc it was NOT standard size. I felt like I was sleeping on a balance beam. The only positive things about the room were the great view of Tower Bridge, complementary water and sodas in the mini fridge, and the Nespresso machine. read more

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights, quite a long time to experience the good and the bad. First of all the hotel is huge, they have lots of large groups staying there and therefore lots of people on a regular basis. We started off with a bit of a negative, our initial room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke (it was supposed to be a non-smoking room) and the AC unit was really not working properly. Luckily we were quickly switched to a different room once we brought up these issues to the reception agent. The plumbing is an issue in this old building especially with the toilets, twice we had an issue with the toilet being blocked. The gym is tiny but it has enough equipment to get a workout in and most of the time there was no-one there. The breakfast rooms are massive, they literally have multiple set ups of the hot and cold items as well as several espresso coffee machines. The spread was good offering several egg options, protein, fruits, breads, yogurt, cereals and pancakes. The location was the best part though, very convenient. read more

Stayed April 5, 2023- April 12, 2023 Definitely a great location and just a 10 minute walk from the nearest tube as well as the DLR. It's beautifully located right next to the tower bridge where you will greeted by the bridge each morning as you leave. The food at the breakfast buffet(EXPENSIVE) is ok but it's very convenient to have as your leaving your room for the day. Unfortunately our experience with our room was not the greatest. First our A/C in our room didn't work, luckily it wasn't hot during our stay so we just left our window cracked open for some cold fresh air. Our sink drain wouldn't actually drain which told us there was something obstructing the drain causing it not to drain. Could of been hair or just a simple malfunction of the drain. Our toilet was also leaking each day and we had to constantly keep a towel close by to help absorb the water. I called the front desk the evening of our first full day and I was told someone would come up to check on it. Well I stayed up and waited for someone to come and well no one ever came. Over the course of 3 days I consistently notified the front desk of the leak and our drain but the issue was never fixed. House keeping did come in and clean our room and bathroom so that was a PLUS! It wasn't until our last night of our stay that I attempted one last time to have management fix our issues. It was then that management apologized for the 4th time and offered us an upgrade to our room facing the river which was really nice of them....but I preferred something to be done days prior not on our last night. So we got upgraded to our new room on the final night with A/C, a great view, and working sink, and a nice dry toilet that wasn't leaking. read more

Never staying here again! I rarely give bad reviews but I would leave 0 stars here if I could - and I should have paid more attention to the constructive reviews of other travelers. (The location is one of the very few redeeming factors.) - Day 2: The biggest issue was the toilet. We were told it's old, that's fine, and it worked sometimes. But the handle broke multiple times such that it was rotating almost 360 degrees and doing nothing. This is not something guests should be stressing about in a supposed 4 star hotel. We reported this to the front desk and it was claimed fixed, but it kept happening so we had to report it multiple times. It still wasn't working as of the last day. (No offer to switch rooms for this arguably major issue.) - Day 1: the sink was clogged and water drained extremely slowly, so if the faucet was left too long the sink would fill with water. We reported this on day one - no fix by the next day after we returned to the room, fine, so we had to report it a second time before it was finally fixed (when they offered a room switch if this issue couldn't be resolved, we mentioned we preferred to stay since it would be inconvenient - it was moot anyway since this particular issue was resolved). I also found it odd that the housekeeper either never noticed this or noticed but didn't inform anyone else to resolve the issue. Other issues that weren't dealbreakers but contributed to an already poor experience: - There was one washcloth for a double (2 people room) and 0 for each day after that - The shower water kept shifting between hot and cold - All the rooms apparently have heavy (fire?) doors, but nothing to slow them down when closing nor muffle their noise, so every single morning you'd wake up to neighbors' doors slamming as they went in and out of their rooms - Wifi signal was poor and kept cutting out The staff seemed nice enough for the most part (although there was one that made us feel uncomfortable) but the toilet issue was just not getting resolved so we were happy to be switching hotels afterwards to a much better one for a comparable price (and extremely relieved that we opted not to stay here the whole trip as originally planned). Simply put, if a room has any major issues, it shouldn't be made available to guests. read more

The view as amazing, we got free Wi-Fi with our stay rooms were turned over daily and the restaurants were good. Staff was nice and pleasant and helped if needed. My only complaint no trash cans in rooms other then small ones, elevators were somewhat slow. I would stay again! read more

I usually love the Tower Hotel. I've stayed there twice. This last time, our air conditioning was broken and it was 85* F or 28* Celsius. Too hot! Our shower heating system was broken as well. We stayed three nights and kept asking for help. Finally, the manager said he would have refunded our money except we bought it through Trip.com. They said they would leave complete notes about our stay and that we could manage it with Trip.com when I got home. We have been negotiating through Trip.com, who have been wonderful!!! However, the Tower manager keeps avoiding their attempts to contact them. I am so upset as the cost was nearly a thousand dollars for the entire stay. Incidentally, I saw the hotel refund a gentleman in front of us from Norway for the same reasons. read more

One of the worst hotels I've been to. There was no air-conditioning and it was 80°. Horrible conditions. I would not recommend and would never ever come back. read more

I am currently staying here on the 10th floor. We checked in oN Wednesday and they could not find our reservations. we had to find our confirmation which was rude but ok things can happen. we checked into our room. our view is great until I saw the bath tub with dark grey rings of scum caked on (see the photos) it was late after a 13 hr flight we just went to bed. the next day zero! housekeeping!! I called and asked wh en would they be here it's 3:00 pm the housekeeping lady was rude and cut me off and said someone would come over. they left dirty cups with tea and did not refill with milk tea. they did not scrub bathroom. I went downstairs to ask for assistance because I tried to call housekeeping for 3 hours nobody picked up! We returned to our room at 5:00 pm today Friday and our room still dirty. then a young lady from housekeeping knocks and says do you need room cleaned she barely knew a couple of words in English and it was frustrating for both us because r we couldn't communicate. The restaurant downstairs they are RUDE we sat across the outside tables they told us we needed to order food drinks through our phones...and for that we had a service charge added to our bill. when I went to front desk they acted clueless and frankly I don't think they cared. I don't know if they under staffed but it is sad. If you are looking for customer service, staff that are happy you are staying at their hotel, CLEAN ROOM, and nice restaurant staff this is not the place. I have it two stars because the view and location are very good. read more

I cannot recommend this hotel! It is supposed to have a 4 star rating but it should be 2.5 at best. When the air works it is inconsistent. Our friends in another room had no AC at all and the staff brought up a portable unit that barely worked. Our room was never cleaned. There was no cold water on the bathroom sink tap. No refrigerator or microwave. Their idea of a king sized bed was two twins pushed together with no pad to cover the seam. Definitely don't stay here! read more
