The only non-byo solution for food without leaving Queen's Park, the Cafe/Kiosk structure is a wonderful revamp of the kiosk that stood across the street for more than a decade. This new structure provides a rustic vibe perfectly at home in the park and with disabled/pram access it's a wonderful example of modern ipswich architecture.
The food and service on the other hand are another story altogether, despite being an independent commercial enterprise don't expect the kind of service or quality food you would from any other sit down cafe`. The prices are high and the staff have more in common with tuckshop ladies of old than restaurateurs. Food is dry and uninspiring, with much of it purchased pre made; yet despite this expect to wait 10-45 minutes for your food.
If you are caught out without food or really don't want to bring your own this is a reasonable solution, but if you can even remember to stop off at the coles 2 minutes down the road on your way to the park, bring your own and have a BBQ on the ample council facilities provided. read more
