    dog in cone after spaying

my amazinggg, gorgeous, beautiful shih tzu got spayed here cause i was scared about anesthesia and their google reviews were pretty good for the area. my dog never really had any issues post-op besides yacking but she lowkey always does that! so not really new and they gave me new meds that made her not yack when i came back! she's healing really fast!! you may have to call twice cause they are kinda busy, but their wait times aren't any worse than other vets ive been to and the vibes are pretty good and they're cheap!

Leona on her way from the city to Queens Low Cost Vet Center in Astoria.

I live in the city and take the subway here. One, the vet, Dr. Ali, is a fabulous, no bs, caring guy. I had my dog's teeth deep cleaned and a lump removed from her tail, both at the same time. The tech Ariel, is a loving kind animal guy and the front desk people know what they're doing. Everyone put me at ease re my older dog Leona going under anesthesia. The price is unbelievably less than vets in the city. Can't praise these guys enough.

I am writing about 3 days after my sweet, little 19month old cat, Artemis, had a life changing surgery at Queens Low Cost Veterinary Center. I adopted Artemis earlier this year after months of fostering her. She didn't have a good start to her life. Long story short, she was rescued from the streets of Sunset Park in late August 2022 and I started fostering shortly afterwards in early September 2022. She was always an affectionate little cat, her only issue being that she had respiratory issues from her times on the streets. Because of this, her respiratory issues are always considered a preexisting condition. Every vet bill claim was denied because of this. Artemis's respiratory issues started to become more prominent earlier this year and she needed x-rays to see if she had bronchitis or pneumonia. The results revealed that she had nasal polyps and that surgery was needed to remove them. This surgery, the consultations and MRIs that most other clinics require before a surgery like this, would have cost around $4000 out of pocket. But then I came across Queens Low Cost Veterinary Center on a Google search. I set up a $25 consultation as soon as possible and Dr. Ali told me what he would do to remove the polyp. And that it would cost $1800 all together. So I set up an appointment for two weeks later ( The surgery was a success and a HUGE polyp was removed. I cried when saw how big it was. I can't believe she has to live with that all of her life. Now her breathing is great. She's in recovery now at home and already being her cute little self! I don't know why some people have given this place bad reviews. I found all of my experiences here good and efficient. The prices are amazing and the workers are friendly and professional. Can't recommend this place enough!

I va took my fur boy here for a neuter and the staff and provider were great. The doctor examined my dog and he was cleared for his neuter surgery. I received a call that he was awake a bit earlier and was able to pick him up a few hours later. They gave me instructions on his follow-up and the doctor asked if I had any questions. The facility is very clean and organized. I will bring my boy back here for his other care.

worse place to take your pet, they have one person working doing stuff they are not prepared for, this girl who does cleaning and also as a vet, is so arrogant a grouse she has disgusting dirty hands and nails also with fake lashes that are full of bacterias, and they doing medical procedures in this conditions, the travel document is like a 2 years kid drawing, so unprofesional comparing to whatever other clinic, they give u one paper broken mess up, they take your money, and hide after u ask for a copy of what they did, plus, low cost? is the worse and spensive, for that dirty office,

This location acknowledged my dog had a racing heart beat and in distress and just said- take to the cardiologist. Little bedside manners.

Dr. Ali is the best. He knows his stuff and the pricing is very reasonable. Your pets will be in good hands at this clinic.

The main issue was payment. I asked if I could Venmo and she said yes. Then they call me back later that evening asking me to cancel it because she doesn't have Venmo. What? Cool, well unfortunately I can't cancel a Venmo payment. But also, you told me yes. Then she asks me to come in to show her on her phone. Sorry, I'm not traveling from Manhattan to Queens to show you how to use your phone. I hope you get your payment but what a terrible post grooming experience and subpar grooming! Will not be coming back.

I called them in advance to ask a few questions, spoke with Laura. Just to make sure they would be comfortable taking our dog. I informed her that he was a senior dog, enucleated OU (both eyes removed), and he takes a sedative so he would be more calm for the grooming. She said it would be fine , as long as he was up to date with all his vaccines. We understood and scheduled an appointment with them. When my sister arrived, the groomer Jesus immediately declined service. His reasoning was he didn't feel comfortable because of the dog age and being blind. He looked at him disgustingly. It's upsetting because all this information was disclosed over the phone beforehand. It was just a big waste of time. He said it was common when dogs move around too much. I guess it's weird that my dog doesn't like getting his nails cut, such an uncommon behavior. It's unacceptable, no apology or nothing. I messaged a friend who has his own grooming business, and his said that the bruises should never have happened, and it's not common for dogs to get them while getting their nails cut. My dog was in there for maybe 5 min, and came out looking beat up and scared. I'm going to post some photos I took a few minutes after we left the groomers, and a couple I took after I gave him a bath.
