Whatever the name of the Man vet has got to be the most distasteful foul mannered person ever. He doesn't care for answering any questions you have about your animal, tricks you into waiting in the lobby and doing whatever surgery or shots for animal he pleases. You have no way of even knowing if the procedures you payed for are actually being done since they don't allow to to be in the room. The vet also lies about Plans/Kits to help with cost and then not following it afterwards making You pay full price or they won't give your pet back. Again, he doesn't answer any questions, and it's sickening to see these other reviews about peoples animals dying after using anesthesia, being I just got surgery done on my animal. The staff is friendly and kind, and Dr. Mohamed Ali clearly has a lot of experience, is very knowledgeable and was gentle and kind to my Princess. After getting blood work, updated vaccines and and anti-flea shot and related meds, the total bill was considerably less than I expected. As promised, Dr. Ali called me the next day with Princess's blood test results and I received a report by email at the same time. My experience with this clinic has been devastating and has resulted in the untimely death of my cherished pet. On January 29, 2023, I took Max, who was 11 years old, to Queens Low Cost Vet for a routine check-up. Despite being a bit overweight, Max had always been healthy, and his lab results were normal. The vet recommended dental work and weight management to ensure his continued health. Trusting their advice, I made the necessary changes to Max's diet. After losing Max's sister to kidney issues diagnosed at the same clinic in May, I was extremely cautious about Max's health. I scheduled a dental consultation for him on June 5, 2023. During the consultation, they did new blood tests to ensure Max was fit for the procedure. Despite my insistence on reviewing the blood results before proceeding, the clinic went ahead with the dental work without informing me of the results. To my horror, they informed me only after the procedure that Max's BUN levels were mildly elevated, although his creatinine levels were normal. They dismissed my concerns, advising me to continue focusing on his weight loss. Immediately after the procedure, Max's health began to deteriorate. Although it took a few days for the full extent of his decline to become apparent, he eventually became lethargic, stopped eating, and showed signs of severe discomfort. On June 17, just 11 days after the dental work, a different vet diagnosed Max with severe kidney and liver issues. Despite my efforts and multiple vet visits, Max passed away on June 19. I had Max since he was 6 weeks old, and for 11 years, he was a happy, healthy cat who never got sick. It is only after the dental procedure at Queens Low Cost Vet that his health took such a drastic and fatal turn. I believe that the dental procedure and the anesthesia used at Queens Low Cost Vet significantly worsened Max's condition, leading to his rapid decline. This clinic's reckless and negligent behavior not only caused immense suffering to Max but also left me devastated by his loss. Queens Low Cost Vet's actions were driven by greed, with little regard for the well-being of the animals in their care. Their lack of proper communication, failure to adhere to veterinary standards, and overall negligence are unacceptable. If you care about your pets, I strongly advise you to avoid Queens Low Cost Vet. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I hope that no other pet owner has to endure the pain and heartbreak that I have faced. Please, do your research and choose a veterinary clinic that genuinely cares about the health and safety of your pets. I live in the city and take the subway here. One, the vet, Dr. Ali, is a fabulous, no bs, caring guy. I had my dog's teeth deep cleaned and a lump removed from her tail, both at the same time. The tech Ariel, is a loving kind animal guy and the front desk people know what they're doing. Everyone put me at ease re my older dog Leona going under anesthesia. I show up at 4 pm, two hours before they close, and the shop is already closed. What is going on? No one picks up the phone and now the business isn't even open? it still shows as open on Google. So unprofessional. This is the clinic I prefer going to for their low costs, ASPCA is difficult to get an appointment with, and I don't want to look around endlessly for other vets I may or may not like. So I beg the question, why the fuck is the store closed at 4 when it's supposed to close at 6, and why doesn't anyone pick the phone up? read more

Warning to pet parents. It can be appealing to bring your pets here as it's cheaper than other vets. But do not bring your pets here for anything serious. My cat was found to have asthma here & the vet suggested a depo shot monthly to assist with that. He said it was safe & no side effects were relayed to me about this medication. My cat got 3 shots total, 3 months in a row. He also suggested an albuterol inhaler to assist in emergency situations. I decided to get a second opinion & went to another vet. Here I was told that the treatment of feline asthma with the depo shot is severely outdated & many negative side effects have been shown with continued use of this medication. Blood work was drawn for my cat, and showed her liver health was dangerously poor & possibly entering liver disease if no intervention was taken. This was caused by the depo shot, as bloodwork for my cat had been taken prior to finding out about her asthma diagnosis, and she was completely healthy. She only had 3 shots total, which the vet considered chronic use. Obviously I did not get her another depo treatment, I was given a prescription for a fluticasone inhaler that is safely used to treat feline asthma. And my baby is doing great now. Imagine if I hadn't taken her for a second opinion. Also, the vet at the low cost clinic had to sedate my cat to give her a x ray & confirm diagnosis. My cat has been put under before, for spaying elsewhere, and responds well to the sedation with no extreme complications upon waking up. However, when i went to pick her up from the low cost vet after she was awake, she was still not able to sit up or walk. They told me i had to take her home like that, which standard practice is to wait and monitor the cat until she is up & walking normal. So I brought her home like that and she was unable to stand/sit up or walk for almost 7 hours after I brought her home. That is NOT normal. I don't know what they did, or if too much medicine was used based on her body weight, but clearly it wasn't appropriate or safe to sedate her to that point & release her to me as such. Once again, I know it's appealing that this vet is low cost, but you get what you pay for. I would not risk the health of any of my animals here again. read more

This veterinary office is great. My corgi was feeling lethargi, wasn't eating, and had severe diarrhea and Dr Ali was able to save her life. He correctly diagnosed her with Addisons disease and told me which medicine I needed to get in order to help her condition. Now my corgi is back to her active, normal, and healthy self. I am writing about 3 days after my sweet, little 19month old cat, Artemis, had a life changing surgery at Queens Low Cost Veterinary Center. I adopted Artemis earlier this year after months of fostering her. She didn't have a good start to her life. Long story short, she was rescued from the streets of Sunset Park in late August 2022 and I started fostering shortly afterwards in early September 2022. She was always an affectionate little cat, her only issue being that she had respiratory issues from her times on the streets. Because of this, her respiratory issues are always considered a preexisting condition. Every vet bill claim was denied because of this. Artemis's respiratory issues started to become more prominent earlier this year and she needed x-rays to see if she had bronchitis or pneumonia. The results revealed that she had nasal polyps and that surgery was needed to remove them. This surgery, the consultations and MRIs that most other clinics require before a surgery like this, would have cost around $4000 out of pocket. But then I came across Queens Low Cost Veterinary Center on a Google search. I set up a $25 consultation as soon as possible and Dr. Ali told me what he would do to remove the polyp. And that it would cost $1800 all together. So I set up an appointment for two weeks later ( The surgery was a success and a HUGE polyp was removed. I cried when saw how big it was. I can't believe she has to live with that all of her life. Now her breathing is great. She's in recovery now at home and already being her cute little self! I don't know why some people have given this place bad reviews. I found all of my experiences here good and efficient. The prices are amazing and the workers are friendly and professional. During a routine wellness examination, your veterinarian will ask you questions about your dog's diet, exercise, thirst, breathing, behavior, habits, elimination patterns (i.e., bowel movements and urination), lifestyle, and general health. Your veterinarian will also perform a physical examination of your dog. Key words was PERFORM A PHYSICAL EXAM. He did not check nothing not even listen to the heart beat and how they were breathing. He just asked why we came and just saw the issues we stated and literally took 10 mins. Within those 10 mins he was throwing others things in to get more money . For the hernia is was starting $300 due to it being small. I just did not like the service and how the doctor poorly exam my dogs. The humane society which I usually go to was backed up on appointments so since I live in queens I decided to try this location out. I called because I had emergency with my dog. She had pyometra. I explained to them that the place I had gone to was overcharging and that if she doesn't get this surgery she won't make it to Monday. I called Friday about 11 am . By the time I got there they had the room ready for her to get her surgery. The veterinary explained everything in details and even after surgery he sent us a video so we can see that leyla was good. We picked her up with all the meds we needed for her. Finally... if you are looking for a honest vet that actually cares about your furry family member then look no further. I met Dr.Ali when I had taken my dog to get his yearly shots at petco. He noticed there that there was something wrong with his eye. He right away wrote me a script to help treat that, something he really didn't have to do... most vets would say that's not what you brought him in for or they will charge you so much to run so many unnecessary tests (something the vet I actually took him to prior had done). I asked Dr.Ali if he had his own clinic and he mentioned it was in the works... and would be opening within the next few months. From then on he has become our permanent vet. Fast forward one night my son noticed our little guy was turning blue, it was around 10pm and I called Dr.Ali and he said come in, I will take a look at him and see what we can do... getting there he saw we were all distraught, we all knew what was about to happen. He quickly took him and gave him some oxygen and examine him. He had the kids go in to be with our little Riley while he had a talk with me. He let me know what was happening and said I had a decision to make, he said it's his time, he's old, and he's suffering, that it's his time. He gave us some time to spend with him before he went to sleep. It was an emotional time for all of us but especially my son. The Dr was very kind, caring and patient. When the time came, he went peacefully and dr Ali gently covered him after his passing. I asked if I can leave him there till we get his grave ready and he absolutely agreed. At one of the most difficult times in my children's life, God sent us Dr.Ali, someone who cared for both the furry babies as well as their human companions. Dr Ali took his own family out of the comfort and warmth of their own home in the late hours of the evening to comfort and be their for mine. I took my 6 month old pit bull Pirata to this clinic and the vet saved his life! He had swallowed too many pieces of wood & other foreign objects (I should've been more careful with watching him) so when he started vomiting and having severe diarrhea we took him to westchester animal hospital and if we listened to them my baby boy would've died! They sent him home with som antibiotics & a laxative! He kept getting worse and worse so we found this clinic online and we went the following morning, the doctor knew that Pirata was in a dying situation without checking the X-rays, by rushing him he was able to save his life, Doctor Ali and his team were amazing I'm not going to anyone else but him for my dogs needs and I've already recommended him to everyone in my building, Doc Ali is really a life savior so thankful and I promise you His prices are unbeatable, they usually charge 4/5k instead doc worked with us and gave us an affordable price. I would give 0 if possible. Absolutely mortified by the lack of care and disregard for my cats life. After already speaking about the situation via email, and explaining that my cat needed an ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsy for a mass in his lung, we were told he needed to be seen first before they can schedule that procedure. I tried to make an appointment and the app wasn't working so we had no choice but to get there early and wait to be seen. We spend over $100 ubering back and forth because it was over 90 degrees and public transit isnt always on schedule during rush hour, we waited 3 hours in 90+ degree heat just for the nasty man vet to tell us there's no point in spending any money on my baby when theres nothing they can do. That there's no point, and to just accept the fact he's going to die. This was after $145 for the exam and bloodwork. AFTER we were told that the biopsy could be done through email. Even the nurses said it could be done, that we would just have to wait for the next availability. The vet left a message at 9pm the following night saying the bloodwork was fine, no specifics or copy, but they can't do the FNA, so my fiance called the day after asking why, especially because we were told they could, and the guy literally hung up on him. So rude and unprofessional. I cannot speak for the entire staff, but the main guy vet does not care about the fate of your pet. 3 hours waiting in extreme heat, and over $250 spent on transportation, exam and bloodwork, in addition the stress my already sick cat had to go through, and we got nothing but a bad attitude, no explanation, and getting hung up on. I'm giving it 4 stars because I had an appointment and I was waiting for a while (which I didn't mind) but this lady with a reactive poodle came a while later, checked in, and was constantly asking the staff how many people were in front of her. Then her dog kept barking non stop and the vet came out and saw the dog was being too disruptive and he told the staff he'll just check her in right now. I heard the staff trying to say no to that because she was a walk-in meaning she didn't even have an appointment and that she wasn't next in line either. However, the vet didn't care and he didn't want the dog barking in the waiting room so he just took them in. And I don't mind a reactive dog because I have one myself but there were people waiting longer than her with appointments. People with reactive dogs were also waiting outside the vet and it wasn't fair for them either. So I didn't like that she got priority because of her barking dog. read more

I was very anxious and worried about putting my little Donskoy Sphynx under anesthesia to get his very first dental cleaning, and since his dental issues were visible even to my untrained eye, next step was choosing a vet that was reasonably affordable to me: I had to do this for my cat, and quickly. How hard was it, every vet charges a lot for a mere 5-minute consultation; what to say about any other more serious procedure then?!?! Who wants to feel that you're gonna have to sell your liver to be able to afford a necessary treatment for your pet?!? I found this place online and got a little discouraged when I was informed that the very cheap prices are for the job about to be performed and only, prices don't count anything extra such anesthesia or IV; be aware that the total price will be higher than what's listed on their website and also on their big store window; there will be add-on expenses for big procedures like the one my cat needed. That been said, everything was absolutely perfect at this clinic! Dr. Ali and his crew are very open about all the aspects of procedures, how they happen and how much is their cost. Ususally vets have some secretive way of telling patients prices, they don't mention costs and when the final bills comes up, it's a shock and a general embarrassment. "That much???" Yep! Dr. Ali was compassionate, he has careful manners and speech; I saw care and professionalism on him and his crew, and me and Little Cat are happy and definitely recommend his services. ...and in the end, I paid about HALF of the total price these criminals out there charge!! Staff was unprofessional and tried to diagnose my cat without taking her out of the carrier indicating she was aggressive when I simply said she was scared and may be unpredictable, as expected. Doctor and staff kept going out of room during my consultation to assist other patients so I did not have a chance to properly discuss my concerns or ask questions. Doctor mentioned they were closing soon even though I was not seen for an hour after my appointment time. I felt rushed. Then the staff (not the doctor) pressured me to make an on the spot decision about treatment when nobody had actually examined my cat and the doctor was somewhere else. I left immediately upon realizing that they are not up to par with my previous vet experiences. However, they are low cost so it makes sense to go to them for financial reasons. I chose to spend more for better quality service. Very disappointed and would caution against using this vet unless you feel comfortable with the quality of service being provided to you and your pet during your consultation. read more
