Now that is a steal of a price worth waking up for. My dad is a major fan of their apple fritters and I am too. As everyone know, that itself was a miracle for us procrastinators. I was a little doubtful when they told me the only roscas they had left were filled with cajeta and fresa. It ended up being a wonderful surprise, everyone loved it (even those that had never had a rosca before). My co-worker knew what he wanted and he knows my dietary restrictions (vegetarian and I like California Mexican food) and exclaimed, "You can get the papas con queso burrito... that means potatoes and cheese." "I know what that means! 4 years of Spanish wasn't entirely lost on me," I said jokingly. Maybe 4 years of Spanish was lost on me because I ordered in English... I didn't even have the guts to say 'please' and 'thank you' in Spanish. The woman gave me my burrito, I ran to the company vehicle, took a bite of the $2.50 potatoes and cheese burrito and said to my co-worker, "Don't leave yet, I want another." IT WAS THAT GOOD. Or I was that hungry and the burritos were that cheap. I'm more enamored by the fact that they make their own tortillas but I've been told there are a number of El Paso restaurants that do, in fact, make their own tortillas. Topping that list is Delectable Delights! I came across them on a support local Facebook group and the empanadas looked appetizing. I have tried every savory variety Amanda offers; chile Colorado, meat and potato, bbq pulled pork, and my personal favorite Philly cheesesteak. Each and everyone is delicious and hits just the right spot. She makes everything from scratch and by order only so you know you're getting pure quality and freshness. Prices are super reasonable and what's better than $5 delivery?! They also reheat well and always come professionally packaged. My entire family loves them and looks forward to our regular order. Its a cute little spot with some employees who I would guess were Mexican. Their level of English was fairly low but we wanted to try something very authentic to the area and this looked like it was so we were happy to work with some language barrier issues for some fantastic sweets to enjoy with some coffee.
