9/01/2012 It's definitely weird for someone like me talking…read moreabout "getting your nails did". Don't worry, my lady friend called me up and asked me to visit her here, so it was the perfect chance to review the place: 1. If your nails look terrible, book an appointment to ProfessioNAIL! 2. From an innocent bystander's point of view, my friend's fingernails looked really good and I was astounded how focussed the lady was towards my friend's nails. Awkwardness aside, ProfessioNAIL was affordable, and the job they did was outstanding. (Yes, I am entitled to an inexperienced opinion about nail salons. The non-English speaking lady was great at her job, listened to our colour preferences, and even knew her nail products/brands very well. Really, the quality of their paint was really good, I can't lie. Their leather chairs are pretty comfy too. But as I was watching - she smiled at me as she asked me in an accent, "Are you her boy-friend?" LOL Why do I always get asked that if I'm with a lady friend? Anyway, my best friend walked out really happy, and she even looked sexier in red too. So if you want good quality nails, and attract male attention, go here! No more worries about your nails afterwards!

Urgh! I my nails! I walked about Adelaide trying to find a nail salon but was made feel…read moreuncomfortable in the first few I went to. The one in Regency Arcade were pressuring me (aggressively and condescendingly) to get their most expensive set and wouldn't quote me for what I wanted. The other few either ignored me or didn't seem welcoming. When I arrived at Professionail the young man (thin, with glasses, a T tattooed on his finger and a gorgeous style) approached me right away and was nice. They have a student special ($30 full set) and all other services are super affordable. They have al of the usuals and don't require appointments but do take advanced bookinga where theyare needed. The environment was relaxed and comfortable. The staffer I interacted with was lovely. And my nails are GORGEOUS! The look so beautiful. I lov5w them. I want to say, I really think people working in nail bars get treated quite badly and respond by being cold so I try to be kind (as always) with them regardless of their demeanor. Doing this, I believe, will improve your experience in a parlour setting. The man who did my nails was so friendly and engaging. I will defs go back to see him in the future. I had a great experience at Professionail and will be going to see the same artist for any nail care in the future. Love.

I went to this salon because the other one was jam packed. The ladies greeted me and asked me what…read moreI wanted to do. I told then I wanted to try the acrylic ones having seen them on it. The lady insisted I get the SNS type since it was so much better so I asked her if it's a similar price and she just said yes without giving me a price. I sat down. The whole process took about 45mins with the additional length that was added. Overall I'm satisfied with the way it looks, but would have been nice to know what I was paying at the end.

This review is as completely honest as it would have been had I paid full price. Staff were not aware I was reviewing their services at the time. I called to book my appointment for a mani/pedi and hung up before realising I wasn't asked for my name or contact number. However, this wasn't an issue when I arrived and, after my feedback, has been addressed with staff. There is a decent range of colours to choose from; mostly OPI and some Essie (possibly China Glaze as well but can't confirm). There's also a good selection of fun glitter and textured polishes which I find can be lacking in other salons. I chose regular polish but I could see what looked to be a good range of shellac and gel polishes also if that's your thing. I was shortly called through to a pedicure chair and enjoyed the foot spa and massage chair action while I was waiting. The filing, shaping and sole scrub all went well (apart from the usual squirming during the ticklish sole scrub). The cuticle scrape and trim also went well and I was happy to not have any bleeding cuticles this time as I find quite often happens. The leg scrub is still quite vigorous and borders on painful and unfortunately the rinse off jet was initially scalding hot to the point of burning and made me jump and yell. A little refinement in this area would make it more enjoyable. A hot towel wipe off was a nice touch. It was then time to move over to the manicure station and the same technician performed my manicure. One unusual thing was that she pushed my cuticles back with her own thumb nail which I'd never seen before but actually preferred as being a gentler alternative to the scraper. Drying is the old school fan method and a coat of finishing spray to end. The horrendous easy listening muzak that I was subjected to during the last visit is "burned and buried" and entertainment was the Victoria's Secret runway shows on TV which was an improvement, even if I did have to tolerate a live performance by Justin Beiber. I was impressed that Anthony had taken the time to contact me via Yelp and was seeking feedback on the changes he was making to the business. This shows a strong desire to improve and an understanding that the customer experience is vital to success!
