It's a 2 hour walking tour, and you'll stop at various buildings to learn about the who, what, when's of what went down there. For example, you will stop at a building and hear about how organized crime controlled laborers local 210. You will see where certain made men were gunned down. Explore Buffalo is a nonprofit run by volunteers; be kind and leave a tip if you enjoyed your tour! Our tour guide Ellen did an excellent job of narrating this 1.5 hour trip down the Buffalo River. She spoke for nearly the whole time and wove together many different facets of industry, history, and local lore. Summer weekends look to be quite popular for this tour so I suggest getting a reservation on-line - their website and the process is very easy to use. Definitely a must do when in Buffalo!

There is some narration on the boat, but most people aren't listening because you are too busy being mesmerized by the falls. You get ponchos, but you may still end up wet (especially your feet that aren't covered) but it feels refreshing on a hot summer day. The one downside is that you are basically herded like cattle through most of the experience. You might get lucky and be at the front of a boarding group, but there is no way to guarantee that.. But even if you don't get a spot near the edge, people tend to move around some so you will still get great views.

I cannot say enough great things about Discovery Tours and our guide for the day, Tim…read more We stopped in the area for the day on our way to Toronto and decided to do the Undiscovered Winery Tour...we couldn't be more happy with our decision. Our guide Tim picked us up at the Fallsview Casino, which was convenient for us, before we picked up one more group of 2. The small group of us (4 plus Tim) was just the right size. Tim was very knowedgeable both about wine and the Niagra region. He took the time to get to know each of us and what tastes were like in wine. We stopped at 4 wineries (all were equally delicious, although I'd have to say my favorite was the red Ice Wine from Vineland) and each time Tim brought us inside, introduced us to the staff, and helped offer suggestions based on what he had learned about us. We also learned the proper way to taste at our very first stop. This was a welcome change from other tours we have done in the past where the tour bus simply stops in the parking lot while you go inside, sample, then come out when you are ready to leave. This was much more personable and made for an excellent tour experience. In addition to the 4 wineries we stopped at the Upper Canada Cheese company to sample their fine cheeses, as well as stopped mid-day in Jordan Village for lunch. The tour was well structured and you had plenty of time to shop after each tasting as well if you wanted to (although none of the wineries/staff were pushy in any way whatsoever.) Overall it was a great day, great experience, and I would certainly consider other future tours with Discovery.
