Had the bathtub recaulked. It was a small bathtub and one side was a door so nothing was done on that entire side. He spent literally 5 min on the job and I had to pay the entire amount which I believe was his minimum. He used my expensive paper towels and didn't really clean up. There were also comments about how much money he made with these gigs. I felt that more work could have been done. However, he was responsive, punctual and charged what he quoted. read more

I hired David to install some blinds in our home I had ordered from JC Penney. I explained what we needed and he was polite, professional and very clear on when we could schedule, what he could do and charge. The blind installation would have been simple but because there was a mistake made on the order (ours mistake --not his), he had to cut the blinds which was a bit scary but he did a terrific job. He was responsive and fast, and super efficient. He definitely knows his stuff, and he's a lovely guy to boot. He also hung some mirrors for me and a few other items. I called him close to dinner time on a Tuesday with a problem with my toilet. He asked me to email some photos, and within 15 minutes texted me a price and said he would be there the next morning. Tried to contact twice for some work, never responded. Not cool. Shortly after posting this I got a response. Amazing how quick things become when a negative review gets posted. My contact was from a few months ago so likely unrelated to the events cited in the response post (I finally had a chance today to post some things). Both QA Handyman and Seattle Fixit noted I posted the same on both businesses. Yeah, because I was trying to get quotes for some work I needed done and tried contacting both. I had the same experience with both so they both got the same post. I have provided my experience with these companies, that is what Yelp is for is it not? Given the response I got on this post from both businesses I'm guessing they are unhappy with the posting, and I'm sorry if they don't like it, but if that is the case then all they need do is respond to messages. read more

Wow! He quickly knocked-out to-do list in two hours that would have taken me many more than that. He arrived on time, quickly understood the tasks needed, and did a great job on items including grouting tile in our bathroom, fixing a clogged drain, and repairing a gate in a wooden fence. I'm so glad that I hired David! I recently moved into a condo that needed, among other things, a new garbage disposal and new shower head. I had disconnected a broken garbage disposal, but needed help getting the new one installed. The same was true with the new shower head. After several days of trips to the hardware store, I thought I'd hire someone with expertise to help me wrap things up. Long story, short - David was kind, professional, and had parts in his truck that I didn't even know that I would have needed. Plus, he was able to get the garbage disposal installed, shower replaced, and even disconnect an oddly placed light all in an hour. I hired David without really shopping around because he seemed like the "dream" handyman: independent, quick response time, good reviews, proven success on odd jobs. All in all he was a pleasure to work with. I wasn't able to get the super-quick weekend turnaround others have described, probably because he sounded booked solid. My garbage disposal was jammed so hard it was fused on Saturday morning. I called him that same day about 11 am. I got a call back on Monday night at 9:30 pm. Called him again Tuesday evening and he arranged to come out Wednesday morning. Overall he spent 2 hours working, including picking up a new disposal from Home Depot and cutting/clamping new PVC pipes when the original metal ones didn't spanned the distance to the new disposal. Happily, he was able to take care of all the details over the phone with me, since I wasn't able to be at my home when he was doing the work. I wish he'd called after finding out the scope of the work but before issuing me the invoice, but odds are 99% I would have just said "ok that sounds good" so no harm done. read more

He's a busy guy, but made time to be responsive to my inquiries.
