Finally tried this place and the bread is good and toasted nicely but the tortas need more meat. It's like one slice that doesn't even fill the big bread. I felt like I was just eating bread. If it had a better bread to meat ratio it probably would've been solid. Probably only come here for the aguas frescas. Melon was yummy.

I stopped at Que Tortas in San Marcos because I was starving and wanted something refreshing and that's exactly what I got! I had a chicken torta with a green juice and some chips on the side. The torta came loaded with lettuce, onion, tomato, avocado, jalapeños, cheese, and chipotle sauce. That perfect combination with the warm, crispy bread was absolutely delicious and hit the spot!

Gentleman behind the counter recommended the combo torta with pork loin and ham, and I ordered it as it comes -- it was delicious. The flavors were on point, and I especially appreciated how soft and fresh the bread was, which really made the sandwich. The place is clean and provided for a relaxing place to enjoy my torta. They also offer a variety of healthier options. Since my girls love açaí bowls, I'll definitely be bringing them here to try those along with their fresh juices (jugos frescos). I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a solid, authentic torta as well as other fresh food items.

The portions are decent, but compared to what you pay for is quite pricey. I get the price hike, but man, my small drink was SMALL small and it came out to $8. Ouch. However, there was 30 to 50% less meat than I'd expect at $13.75. basically like 1.5 thin slices of each meat type. Was told it came with Swiss cheese and didn't find that in there. Had the prices been $2 to $3 less as there were not long ago I'd be more forgiving.

No picture because I inhaled my Que Torta before I remembered Yelp exists and so did my family. This beauty came stacked with all the meats plus panela cheese, tucked into perfectly toasted bolillo with fresh avocado, crisp onions, juicy tomatoes, lettuce, tangy pickled carrots and jalapeños, and smoky chipotle sauce. By a long shot, it beats a fast food burger--and I'll gladly pay $14 for fresh, high-quality ingredients like this. The place was spotless, the smell of fresh bread and just-cut fruit hits you the moment you walk in, and it feels warm and welcoming. Staff is friendly, food comes out fast, and they even have fresh fruit for my toddler. We'll happily make the drive from Oceanside just to get our torta fix again.

A+ for customer service, employees were super welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, not impressed with the food, in my opinion (coming from a Mexican background) tortas are supposed to be somewhat hefty, packed full of flavor and kind of fall apart from how good it is. The torta I ordered was fine but very basic and not at all in resemblance of a true Mexican torta. The amount of chicken was very small thin slices, not flavorful at all, the ingredients were very basic (tomato, lettuce, onion). The tortas here seem to be a on a very basic, not exciting level not to mention it was $17 and some change for only a half order of a torta and a can of soda, I can't imagine how much the whole torta costs. Their side of cut up fruit and Tajín was good. Nonetheless, friendly, kind staff, clean and polite environment but pretty basic and expensive lunch options.

This ain't no taco shop. This should be your go-to shop to get delicious tortas, smoothies, and aguas frescas. I tried the combination torta (ham and pork loin) and it was terrific. The bread was nice and soft and all of the other ingredients (avocado, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and jalapeños) were very fresh and high quality. It's not a deli sandwich so don't expect a mountain of meat. The meat is very proportionate to the other ingredients. It's plenty of food. The front counter display is a thing of beauty. There's a ton of fresh fruit and desserts right in front of you. You want an agua fresca? They'll make it fresh for you right there. The workers couldn't have been nicer. And the place is spotlessly clean. There should be many more reviews for this place. They are working very hard here. Go give them a try.

This is my favorite torta place! The best bolillos I've had. I get the torta special, usually the half with pico but when I'm really hungry I just get the full sandwich. Their chipotle sauce is fire and the lettuce and tomato are still a good crunch texture even though it's a hot sandwich. I hate it when my lettuce and tomato are soggy in a hot sandwich. I love their fruit and juices, so sweet and tasty. Highly recommend to anyone who wants fruit and tortas! read more

Was in the area, craving juice or a smoothie, saw this place and decided to check it out. Went on Friday at around noon and parking was ok. It's located in a strip mall so lunchtime can get busy. Walking in, it was quiet. There were only a few tables and all occupied. It's definitely geared more for take-out. On the overhead menu board, there's various tortas, sandwiches, juices, smoothies & salads. There were also desserts in the display case. Ordered a couple of Multigreen Juices which had cactus and other veggies & fruit in it. The wait wasn't long and the juice was refreshing and delicious. Next time will try their tortas! read more

This is the San Marcos location with the same quality of food and level of service like the Escondido location on East Valley Parkway. Lots of parking and similar menu selection. Great place for lunch. Definitely a return visit call for me!!! read more

Both my co-worker and I, each got the Special (half a Torta +Fruit) plus we shared a Horchata too ! I got the Ham Torta & she got the Combo (Pork & Ham). Since the bread is kind-of bulky, we both thought a tad bit more meat would've been nice, but we ate the entire 1/2 sandwiches and maybe, 50-60% of our fruit (very generous portions & so fresh; topped w/ cottage cheese, coconut flakes, raisins & granola w/ optional honey in a cup, too) ! You can pick & choose what type of fruit, also, if, I.e. you don't like melons, for example - you can leave them out. The restaurant was kept very clean & tidy and the workers were all very patient & friendly ! I'll definitely be back read more

The worst employees, rude and don't want to work. Other thing, on the website says they close at 8:30 we go at 8 and it's closed if they change the hours then update them. I call other days and they don't pick up the phone so what kind of business is this that don't want to sell and push away the customers. read more

Been going to the Que Torta in Escondido/ Vista for the last couple of years now. Soo happy that there's one n my home town...San Marcos!! Everything on their menu is super fresh and tasty. I love that the Tortas are huge and well made that you're able to leave with a happy full belly. ^_^ their customer service is also great. I really appreciate that they greeted us right when we arrived and let us know if we had any questions to not hesitate to ask. They are attentive as one of the sweet ladies came up to our table and asked if I wanted a bag for my left overs. The restaurant is clean and beautifully lit. Just wow!!!! My boyfriend and I randomly stopped here this morning and we're so impressed. Hands down the best torta we've ever had. We don't leave in the area but will definitely be making special trips to come back!!!! We had the Que torta, or house torta. We split it and it was plenty for us to share. The portion is huge. So happy a Que Tortas location opened up in San Marcos! Love almost all the items on their menu, my favorite is always the Half Torta w/Pico de Gallo & Horchata. The place is very clean, and you can see how sanitary their cooking station is. All the workers are super nice & understanding of (picky) eaters like me lol. I ordered a turkey torta with extra panela cheese via DoorDash & it was okay. It was good, just a super basic torta with barely any turkey meat. Nothing to call home to Mom about. I've had better out of hole in the wall spots in the hood. I doubt I'll be ordering from here again. read more

Went here over the weekend and it totally satisfied my torta craving! The bolillo was soft and crunchy. The food was fresh and delicious. The employees were super nice and played the football game without even asking since they saw us in our jerseys. The spot is small but if you are there for a quick bite the vibe is there. I will be coming back to try more. read more

Better to ask another employee than make up answers. Our first visit, no one in line behind us, so we had time to ask some menu questions. Funny, I asked if it was real turkey or that slimy Jennie-O processed deli meat, she responded, "it's fresh." Acai bowl and salad was great ! We will visit again. read more

Was grabbing a boba next door and stopped in randomly and was really impressed. I ordered the turkey torta and chicken soup. The bread tasted freshly baked and I liked chipotle sauce they used. The chicken soup was also really good with a lot of fresh veggies and the broth was really flavorful. Will definitely be back! read more

The best sandwich I've ever eaten. After holiday shopping thru lunch, I was starving. Stopped in for the Que Torta, which is delicious. Restaurant was SUPER busy, so it took a few minutes for my food to be prepared. I don't think I realized that this place is so popular! I started to worry! Where is my sandwich?!? I looked upon other diners with envy. It arrived - and was beautiful. Perfectly toasted bread, literally mouth-watering. First bite was amazing - in all sincerity, the best sandwich I've ever had. Perfect balance of meat and veggies, sauces are delicious, spicy jalapeno offset by avocado. Just fantastic. It was good enough that it's made me re-evaluate my love for other amazing sandwiches, such as the bahn mi or the reuben. It was that good. read more

Unfortunately, the enchiladas just weren't for me. The filling reminded me more of chicken soup wrapped in a tortilla than a traditional enchilada. I was surprised to find celery inside, which I've never had in an enchilada before. It wasn't terrible, but the flavor and texture just didn't work for me. Even though my meal was disappointing, the friendly service and comfortable atmosphere would make me willing to come back and try something else on the menu.

Why would anyone want this much sour cream? Needless to say the fries were soggy and the whole thing tasted of sour cream even after I tried spooning it off as best I could. Sorry Ernes, you have lost me forever. There are too many other places nearby that don't make their carne asada fries look like a coconut cream pie.

The young kids they have working here want to get out of work as soon as possible so they start cleaning early and turn away people early so they don't have to stay longer to clean. This is ridiculous, as the closing time is clearly 9. They always seem so annoyed that you even walk inside in the first place, which with a family being told we can't eat here even though it's open is just insulting. Management needs to talk with their employees about this because I'm sure they aren't aware of this and they turn away business. Why wouldn't you want to eat inside at a place like this? Food is amazing, but if you want to eat inside be sure you get there an hour or even more before close!

The bar is no different than the dining room service and I know that is something the restaurant should be mindful of. (Slow and not really scoping out what should be taken care of ie/ customers without drinks and or place settings for appetizers.) It is Important to mention, that we were not the only group seeing and feeling this way. Needless to say, a very HONEST & CLEAR 3.5 stars.
