It seems that consistency in the food that a restaurant sells is increasingly rare, and that's a shame. However, Quayside bucks the trend admirably: they make food that's consistently high-quality - and I've tried a number of different items from their menu.
Their chips are always done to a turn - unlike another place in Doncaster I could mention, where the chips are almost always undercooked. As for their battered food, there's practically no grease to speak of, which I love. (I'm not normally a fan of battered sausage, but the one time I had Quayside's offering, I was left very impressed.)
The food alone makes for a enjoyable experience, but when the staff are cheerful and friendly, it makes every visit to Quayside wonderful. This might sound like exaggeration, but I really do think that Doncaster's very lucky to have Quayside there. read more
