I know the standards that veterans provide and they exceeded standards of any other medical establishment that I have been to in a very long time. The office and rooms are always clean and the staff puts you at ease, plus they are fast. No extra wait or me having to ask too many questions, as they are so intuitive. Yesterday, I went in for an infected finger and Justin Baker examined and explained what was going on and what needed to be done. He patched up my finger, provided my discharge instructions, and I was in and out in no time. I actually prefer to come here vs. gong to my PCM for urgent treatment. If you're looking for urgent treatment, go to them. They will exceed your expectations, like they did mine. Great job guys and gals! I will be returning.

I came in today because I have been experiencing cold and flu symptoms. Unfortunately, I never made…read moreit past the front desk due to an unpleasant interaction with a staff member. I was speaking with a woman about my copay and explaining that I have only ever paid $35 during previous visits. While I was discussing this with her, a male staff member abruptly interrupted our conversation and insisted that the $50 copay was correct. I found his approach to be extremely rude and unprofessional. As someone who is new to the area, I was simply trying to understand the difference in my copay. I would have appreciated a little more patience, courtesy, and understanding rather than being spoken to in a condescending manner. I understand that policies and copay amounts may vary, but I believe patients should be treated with respect and compassion, especially when they are not feeling well. Unfortunately, this interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and discouraged from receiving care at your facility.

The worst front desk customer service…read more This was after I had already gone to the Kyle location for walk-in X-rays and was told their tech was out. That part I completely understand--life happens. What I didn't appreciate was being told that I should have called ahead to check whether they were doing walk-ins. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of offering walk-in X-rays, especially when the website says they are available? I called this location before making the additional drive and confirmed they were accepting walk-ins. When I arrived, the front desk person simply nodded at me. It wasn't clear whether she was acknowledging me or telling me to come forward, so I asked if she wanted me to move forward. She just nodded again. There was no greeting, no verbal direction, and no attempt to make the interaction welcoming or even clear. Her demeanor gave me the distinct impression that she simply did not care about the person standing in front of her. Customer service matters everywhere, but it especially matters in healthcare. Patients may already be anxious about why they need imaging in the first place. Basic courtesy and clear communication should not be too much to expect. I would not return to this location. Update: I do want to add that once I was taken back for my X-rays, the imaging experience was wonderful. Daisy, who performed my imaging was kind, professional, and made that portion of the visit a very positive experience. Unfortunately, that does not change my assessment of the front-desk customer service, which was extremely poor and is the reason I would not return to this location.

I know healthcare as a healthcare professional. Trust me. When calling them you get a non-English speaking person answering who cannot speak clear English. Their portal is not patient friendly and archaic, and is one of the least expensive EMR's. The initial visit introduces you to a kind front desk, MA for Intake, and the PCP for a first visit but after that it has been a nightmare. Portal messages are not responded to by anyone who is knowledgeable. I am assessing this by the ridiculous, clueless responses with poor grammar. All this resulted in taking up my time to educate them. I do not recommend this clinic nor the entire Hillside organization. It is concerning when a patient has no healthcare experience and are most likely taken advantage of just to build their financials or support other physician colleagues.

If you are having a life threatening emergency please go to an actual ER…read more This took place in June 2021. I've been trying to see this in any way that would not make this "ER" look as terrible as it is. I have been unsuccessful. I'll make this as short as possible. My wife went in for severe stomach pain around midnight. She searched ER and this place was closest. They even have an EMERGENCY ROOM sign. She was placed in a room, nurse asked a few questions, then was left alone. A biller or front desk lady came in and said they know what it likely is but needed $800 before they could even say what she was paying for. She took my wife's cc (while shes crying in pain) and left. Card declined 3 times so she came in and asked for another. Baffled as to why an emergency room was holding life saving information hostage behind a paywall, I gave her the address to the actual hospital when she called me asking for $800, in pain, panicking, and sobbing. My wife left and drove to Christus Santa Rosa. There we learned her appendix was about to rupture. She had surgery that same morning. Something we paid for with heartfelt thanks. This Urgent Care let my wife leave without recommending she immediately go to the hospital, or asking if they could call someone, or helping in any way. If they would have done even that much i would not be writing this now. For all they care she could've died in the parking lot. We understand this is a business. They may have improved in the 5 years since this took place but I wont be risking my family here. This is a place you go to when your Dr. is unavailable. This is not a place to go if you're in an actual emergency.
