Amazing taxi service. I believe this is the same company as "A" Cab Service. The driver was very prompt and very friendly. I cannot believe the service I've gotten with this company. If you are near Stony Brooks area, this is the taxi service to call! On time and courteous. Even at 5am. But this is the same taxi service as A Cab Services Inc. Which means the same fleet of cars - one of them being a smelly one. The same issues with paying with a credit card unless you have a $25 limit. They're pretty much the only cab options for this area of Long Island, so you have to deal with what you get. read more

Pros: It gets you where you're going. Cons: Seems like they're usually about twenty-five or thirty minutes late for the pickup time, even if you call well in advance. The cabs could be cleaner and smell better, but such is life. I'd also feel much safer with drivers who actually buckle up, keep both hands on the wheel (you'll fail a driving test if you drive with one hand, seriously), and don't talk on the phone while driving. Edit: Had to take a cab again, and for some reason they charged me $14 in the morning, and $16 for the same trip back in the afternoon. Last time they charged me $12 each way. Weird. read more

Really, a bad experience. Felt like #**k the tourist day. Got picked up and driven a 4 mile trip (about 10 minutes or less, no traffic.) Driver not very friendly, though that would not warrant a one star review. What does, however, is upon arrival him charging us $28 dollars. No meter visible, and the amount seemed completely arbitrary. We've been cabbing around Stony Brook (different companies) all morning, and no charge was anywhere near that. After an uncomfortable, long time in the car trying to express that it did not seem fair or correct, we gave him $20 and left (still felt like too much, but just wanted to end it). So I called the dispatcher twice, 1st call he quoted my roundtrip ride at $24.00 ( the destinations are 5 mins apart). I politely told him that I would call back which I did, it was12:15am the other cab co. didn't have cars available and the others were around the same price. When I called Quality Taxi back to take the ride, he actually reprimanded me for not taking the cab the first time and in his angry tone mocked, "oh after calling around for another price, you're calling back now to take it???" I calmly say, it is a pricey price, but would you rather me use someone else? Him - 'Yeah, you do that'...I wounded up not needing the cab after all-I found my car keys so I drove home...I'm a woman who lives in the community, I called for a cab at 12:15 am and he hassles and essentially denies service? My safety could've been in jeopardy. I or any other potential customer shouldn't be subjected to whatever his problems are. This is why I will NEVER consider this cab company as an option. Thank you Quality for narrowing my choices down for the next time I need a ride. I have to give a rating, 1 star for a lesson learned. read more
