I have never stayed in such a dive before in my life. No towel in the room twice, they didn't clean our room one day. Had to go down for towels twice. The room phone didn't work, the bed was 8" from the A/C unit and could not walk around it, there must have been a dog in that room because of the pee spots in the carpet and the room smelled like piss, the closet door was busted and not on track, toilet seat loose and you had to keep the handle down the flush, the ceiling was flaking off and falling in the floor in several places, 2 of the receptionist seemed put out when I came down with a problem. This place is a dump, find another hotel even if you have to drive 30 minutes more. Pictures on website look good, but room no good. They try to hide the ugly with new paint and carpet. Holes in drapes, possible mold from water damage on ceiling, holes and soft spots in walls, questionable stains on walls. The only thing good about the breakfast was the waffle. This place is disappointing and DISGUSTING! I stayed last weekend and I woke up feeling sick. Usually when I go to a hotel, I'd expect there to not be any mold in the room. I arrived late so I had just gone to bed. Woke up feeling so sick and puffy, knowing it was a small allergic reaction. I inspected the room and to my (not) surprise, mold. Not only when I was leaving to check out, the walls in the hallway had mold in them too, EXPOSED. Not even trying to hide it. Refunds were not even an option. The building is falling apart. They ran out of eggs, yesterday. The floor in 231 is warped and soggy. The lobby needs a facelift 5 years ago. In general it's a shabby place that doesn't appeal. Their website pictures are misleading. This respite from a weary travel day was a disaster. NOT RECOMMENDED IN ANY WAY. The Waffle House next door has a WAY better breakfast. read more

My husband and I drove from Illinois to Tennessee for my grandmother's funeral. We were excited to stay in a nice hotel suite with a jacuzzi. We were in the room for less than 10 minutes before going to the front desk and letting the man know that there was an earwig bug on the curtain and another one in the sink in the bathroom. Also the sheets on the bed were NOT clean!! Instead of moving us to another jacuzzi suite, we were moved to just a regular room on the second floor. No discount. Nothing. BEWARE!!! SLEEPLESS NIGHTS I chose to stay here ONLY because it was close to my destination but it was the the WORST let me say it again... THE WORST place I have ever stayed in... This place needs to be gutted out and upgraded... it's smells like An abandoned place... and definitely it has been abandoned by whoever owns it & who runs it "SAM THE MANAGER" that despite I left a Small list of what was wrong in the STINKY, NEGLECTED room I and my family stayed in... 2 days after and STILL WAITING for a phone call back... this place is sooo BAD that I had to buy fabreeze and Lysol to make the room smell good and disinfect. Allow me to list a few of the many things I noticed while here... which was short. - Squeaky doors - no water pressure - horrible smell as soon as you walk in and throughout the hallways and rooms - pool is NASTY - Wi-Fi non existent - toilet seat loose and in DIRE NEED to be replaced. Disgusting - snails sticking out on the stairs steps - STAIN AND STINKY blankets, sheets and pillows - DIRTY parking lot - People Drinking in the parking lot - loud music past midnight - Paper thin walls. I could hear kids screaming at 6am - you can hear floor about walking and even more jumping. No throw your money away!!! This place DO NOT DESERVE TO BE OPEN!!! My wife and I stayed at this hotel while attending an event at Cherokee Park. Check in went smooth but it was all down hill from there. As we entered the side door we found it unsecure, allowing any one to enter the hotel. Our room had a mildew smell, there was left over trash in the garbage can, stains on the carpet and a large crack in the wall (Water damage). Checked for bed bugs and found none but the sheets had old stains, some appeared to be old blood. We stayed for three nights after using a can of spray disinfectant all around the room. We tried the free breakfast our first morning. The food warmers had a choice of sausage,(fake processed) eggs and rock hard biscuits which had obviously been set out more then once. We've stayed at several hotels associated with the Quality Suite chain and have never found one in such a poor condition. We and several other people in our group will be attending a yearly event in Morristown, TN and will not stay at this hotel in the future. read more

This hotel is in dire need of renovation. The wallpaper is coming off the walls, the carpets are filthy, the outside is as bad as the inside. The water in the inside pool probably has not been tested in years. Stay away! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Maybe even Negative 5 stars. Where do I begin? As we sit waiting for a call back from our pediatrician. Our children were exposed to mold during our stay and have suffered wheezing, and a horrid cough ever since we entered that room. Our first room we entered we were hit in the face with what could only be described as a washing machine load of towels that had been wet and forgotten about, ones that have mildewed and developed a stench so foul and sour that no amount of washing could ever renew them. A musty car that had once been flooded and had been sealed up in the hot Sun for a while. You get the idea. So we start to look around the room and find cheerios and cereal spilled all over the floor. Greasy sweaty hand prints perfectly preserved on the wooden head of the bed. Blood stains that permeated the sheets onto the mattress. The sofa had what appeared to be dried vomit and smelled of soured milk and stomach acid. We pulled out the sofa bed to explore further and found no extra linens, and more blood stains. We look around the walls and find a dark mildew creeping around the edges of the room and along the walls. The bathroom toilet seat had chipped and cracked and been painted over. The lampshades had mold and mildew and had been stained with what I can only guess is cheap beer from the smell. The worst during this 30 minute ordeal was that when we had turned on the air vent our children began having an asthma attack. Upon further examination I discovered visible chunks of mold, mildew of all colors and shapes that resembled leaves. I tried to loosen it and found it was grown hard and thick into the air unit. The remote control had been duct taped and was covered in a fine grease like vegetable oil. The air vent continued to fill the room with a toxic spore that made all of us being asthmatic into a full blown asthma attack. We insisted on a new room. The new room smelled much better, but to my dismay the bed linens were spotted with visible black mildew and mold. The sofa bed still had no linens. The toilet seat was also cracked and painted over. The walls paint was chipping away, and visible stains rested around the edge of the bathtub and ceiling. There was more mildew on the walls. More sweaty greasy handprints on the headboard. We called for replacement linens, and they said they had no pillows to spare. The replacement linens were also speckled and spotted with black splotches and smelled of mildew. The attendant at the desk apologized but said there was nothing else she could do. They couldn't refund us. We had no money to go anywhere else. We regret whole heartedly staying in this hotel. Our children have been sick and coughing ever since our stay here. I recommend you run do not walk away from this hotel. Even the poor girl working the front desk acknowledged that our complaints were not uncommon and that there was nothing she could do, other than acknowledging that she understands it is bad. I would love to know if we could get a refund for this hotel stay. It has landed in our top 2 worst ever, second only to being locked out on a balcony when the doorknob fell off at a different location. read more

Very painful and itchy stay.never again, the room seemed very clean and staff was friendly but these bites are beyond belief! ...update 5;15 pm same day, I have now arrived home from my flight and my back and the back of my neck have bites that itch but hurt too much to scratch, I have to go to work like this tomorrow. My family came to town for my dad's funeral and they booked this hotel. I had not stayed here since my home burnt in 1996. I do not think anything has been updated since then. The rooms are musty, the carpet is dirty. The pool area looks to be in need of an update. The water smelled bad and was cloudy. And to top it off some men were smoking at a table in the corner of the room. I would not recommend this hotel. Quality needs to step in and update or close. A poor excuse for a hotel. read more

I'm giving this hotel three stars only because during check out they would keep rushing in just to find the door locked. Front desk and house keeping does not have communication. We spoke to front desk told them we'd be out within the next twenty minutes and two minutes later comes housekeeping knocking and opening the door. Housekeeping tried to come into our room at least 7x after we repeatedly told them we'd be out shortly. I am a choice hotels member and this is the first time this happens. Definitely won't be staying at this location anymore. Other than that. Check in was quick and easy they accept cash which is always a plus. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. read more

When we first walked into our room we immediately noticed the stains everywhere. Literally there is dirt and fluids all over the walls and floors. Then we noticed stains all over the sheets and comforter. Shortly after this we saw bed bugs all over the bed. Fortunately we were able to switch rooms.. except this room was also covered in stains and it was INFESTED with ants. The manager did nothing about the issue. They would not issue a discount or a refund. I ended up leaving the hotel covered in bites all over my body from either ants or bed bugs or some other unknown bug they have in their hotel. Stayed here because it was the nearest hotel with availability to the eclipse totality centerline, and it had favorable reviews on the travel site I booked through and looked nice in the pictures; this was all very opposite of the experience we had staying here. Wasn't happy about the price, as they charged double their regular rate for the eclipse weekend, but the reviews seemed to indicate it would be worth it - it wasn't. Upon arrival, both room keys did not work, but the front desk staffer fixed that immediately. Getting into the room, we found a white stain on the floor next to the bed that looked very much like... male discharge, and a few minutes later we found and dispatched a live cockroach. It was also noticeable that the room sprinkler had at some point been activated, because of the clear water damage to the ceiling and wall which nothing had been done about to repair. The bathroom had a spot for tissues, but no box. The only reason we didn't ask for another room is because we knew the hotel was already sold out. Overnight, the mattress turned out to be lumpy and uncomfortable, but usable. In the morning, the continental breakfast was small but passable (the "eggs" were a joke, but waffles and biscuits and gravy make up for it), however a circuit breaker kept tripping, killing the lights in the entire dining / lobby area, and every 5min a staffer would run outside to cycle the breaker until it tripped again. I can't say this is the worst hotel I've stayed in, but I wouldn't stay here by choice; pass on this one if you can, until they make major improving strides. read more

BEWARE!!! SMOKING FEE SCAM!! This hotel and its employees especially Sandra Gibson are running a scam that charges unsuspecting travelers a bogus $150 smoking fee. I have been a very loyal to Choice Hotel customer for the last 5 years and never had an issue until my most recent stay at this hotel. Problems began immediately upon check-in, the first room we were given was not clean from earlier guests. The beds were slept in and the door was unlocked. Received a new room after speaking with front desk. The next day after pulling back the duvet the comforter had old blood stains everywhere. Had to request new sheets. However, the real problem began after I checked out and returned home. The hotel had charged my credit card an $154.10 smoking fee. There are more details but I am trying to keep it short. I am just here to issue a warning to anyone thinking about booking a room at this hotel. If you must stay here check your room very throughly to protect your hard earned money. I do not want anyone else to have to endure what I have with this hotel. Furthermore, the hotel is not the cleanest. The 3rd floor wall has I repaired water damage, peeling paint and the entire hotel smells musty. I can.handle all that but I cannot handle my money being stolen from me. I don't understand the bad reviews of this hotel...however, they are from quite a while ago, so maybe things have changed. My husband and I are currently staying in this hotel until tomorrow and we couldn't be happier. The entire staff has been super friendly, the grounds are clean and the hotel interior is very clean. Our room is beautiful, with a separate living area and couch. The bed is like sleeping in a cloud with super plush pillows. The breakfast is good! Biscuits, eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, bread, pastries, cereal and oatmeal, coffee and juice. My only complaint would be the lack of variety of snacks in the "store". However, there is a full gas station with convenience store directly in front of the hotel just feet away. Would stay here again if we were in the area. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Quality Suites- I was sick for days after staying at this hotel from the BLACK MOLD in my room. I pointed the black mold out to housekeeping and took pictures of it. The hotel refused to give me a refund and also fraudulently charged me $20 for a clock that I was supposed to have taken. On top of all this - housekeeping started knocking on doors at 8am and vacuuming with the loudest vacuum I've ever heard. The knocking never stopped - they just kept checking rooms to see if people left. There were people loitering outside, which made me feel very unsafe at night w/ me traveling alone. Front desk man is very nice but WIFI is terrible. Even had front desk connect me and signal was lost by the time I got back to my room. Air conditioning works well, beds are comfortable and clean . Bathroom was a bit dated but clean. Just fix WIFI. Paid $84 plus tax etc. which seemed high for a chain hotel in a rural area but price wise I think it's on the lower end of mid range hotels. The air in our room was not working. When we told the girl at the front desk at night she appeared to be sympathetic however did not let anyone else know. The next morning I addressed the problem and the staff at the front desk was a bit rude and did not offer any resolution informed me that the manager would call me which never happened. Just yesterday I finally received an email from the GM and he basically said I was lying because he had the air tested and it works. Well here is the problem with that ok well it's good tou got it tested so apparently you looked at it yourself and decided it needed attention so it works now..... here is the thing just because it works now doesn't mean it worked then genius. Very disconcerting that guests are having bad experiences. No apologies for the experience at all. Just called me a lier.... will never ever ever recommend or visit this facility .
