First the landscape river rock was delivered in 3 pallets and parked in my driveway for several days before they started the work. This created a huge mess with mud and debris. Not to mention having to navigate around them with our cars to get in and out of the driveway. They ran out of rock and waited days to bring in more. 12 days from start of the project they came to lay sod. My front yard is not large by any means... They would lay a small section of the yard, run out of sod and we would not see them for a couple of days before they would come back and lay another small section and leave. After 7 days of having a partially finished yard, they finally brought in enough sod to finish what should have taken 1 day to complete. Pics attached. On the 18th day 5/3/22, the owner (Abhi) text me that they were "finished" and was coming that evening to do a final inspection. I pointed out areas that needed to be corrected, to which he agreed would be fixed. He made me aware they had "misquoted" the job. He admitted that it was "his fault" as he was the one that initially quoted me the price. I paid him the remainder of the money we agreed upon. On 5/6/22, Abhi came to meet me at 8am and told me that the issues would be resolved by 5/10/22. Since they had not made good on any timeline they provided, I gave him until 5/12/22 to have a couple of days grace. They show on 5/12 to "fix" the problems and installed a completely different rock around the unfinished mailbox and a landscape stone that was a different color that the rest. He also told me they would fix the dead patches of sod. Pics attached. I reached out to Abhi again 5/12/22 about the issues and he told me he was aware and it would be fixed. He said that he would get a stone mason to fix the landscape borders and buy the correct river rock to finish the mailbox area. I come home Thursday 5/19/22 to find they are taking landscape rock from my existing landscape and transferring it to the unfinished mailbox area. They also used a hammer to break the landscape border instead of using a saw to fit it properly. Pics attached. They leave on 5/19 without being corrected. I reach out to Abhi again on 5/19/22, that is when I realized who I was dealing with. He became very condescending and made it a point to tell me he lost money on my job. On 5/20/22, I tried to call and text Abhi to see if they were coming to resolve the issues. He sent someone out that used glue to fix the stones around the mailbox and cut the landscape stone on my front porch which was loud and created a ton of concrete dust on my front porch. My dogs were frightened by this barking and yelping. I took a video and pics. Pics attached. I have hired a different company to fix the sod that needs repaired/replaced. I will hire a company to repair the mailbox landscape and correct the end stone and consulting with an attorney that specializes in Civil Litigation to find out our next steps. Steer clear of Destined Landscapes!!!

I had numerous communication issues--calls and emails were unacknowledged. The reality is that we could not agree on the next steps on the current job of cutting a 1in by 6ft section and staining aboard. Modern Handymen wanted to charge me a minimum of $625 dollars for this job. I believe this is exceptionally high. So, what happened is that I needed up being charged $125 or more for three visits. The 2nd visit included recommendations to completely change our whole arrangement. All they did was remove three screws and left me hanging. We tried to work out this new arrangement, and communications were ignored. Then an unauthorized visit by the "master" carpenter occurred. not "rip me off." I clearly disagree they are definitely trying to do just that. I believe this business harassed, is untrustworthy, and is unethical.

There was timely and frequent communication throughout the whole process, which I appreciated since the work was being done while I was at my job and not able to be there physically. Nick came out to do an inspection, and in the process of doing so discovered some issues with our pipes and vents on the roof, some items that pictures made clear could quickly lead to serious damage if the wrong winds/rain came through. He showed us a detailed video of the inspection, then offered multiple quotes based on what approach we wanted to take. I appreciated how thorough and how efficient he was-- I've been in situations where at this point in the review an agent for a major company will only offer you the highest possible quotes and make them sound like an emergency and basically take as long as they can in your house to wear you down in hopes that you'll agree to the sell. Nick and Mr. Goodroof did NOT do this and this instantly won us over. We actually opted for a combination of two of the quotes/plans of action he presented, and he worked up a new quote for that. They offered a variety of payment options, including a 12 months same as cash option that you can apply for and access on your phone quickly. We scheduled the service and they had a crew out in less than a week to get the job done. They worked quickly and efficiently. There was some miscommunication on the quotes, plan of action, and updated responses (like the finished report detailing the work done, particularly important for us as the day of the work the approach shifted somewhat and we just wanted to understand why). We never doubted the quality of the work, but due to being burned in the past by other companies, had some reservations. We voiced those complaints and Nick + others at the company got back to us to go over and explain the situation. They explained the reason for the changes, the delayed updates (some due to automation processes on billing etc.), and sent out the crew + Nick (at a 3rd date) to do a final inspection and report. I'm going a "4" which in my book is "great". The price we paid for the work that was done was fair, the work was quality, and both the sell and final report were handled perfectly. Due to some confusion and crossed wires (that took about a week or so of going back and forth) that hindered my enthusiasm of the project briefly in the interim, I'm docking just the one star that would make this a "perfect" experience. I fully intend to use these folks again for some other tasks next year and I have every expectation that they'll bump up to a full "5" at that point ("perfect").

The new gutter they installed leaks at one of the seams and instead of two downspouts they only put one. But the kicker is they actually used my old downspout from the gutter they replaced. Which is smaller in diameter not sure how that made sense. My patio for the first time flooded out and almost zero flow to the old downspout. Should have just done it myself.

We had to go outside at 7pm at night and try to clean up the mess in the dark so our dogs could use the bathroom. *Due to the lack of communication of when people were leaving my husband's vehicle was stuck In the garage over night while my car was parked down the road because there was no place to park and was afraid of getting nails in my tires. *My son couldn't come home that night due to no where for him to park and he had to take off 3 hour that Monday due to him not being able to due his job because he works a call center job and couldn't hear with the hammering and dogs barking *No communication what so ever from the supervisor that was supposed to come out that day but didn't show up or call and until I called him to find out why he didn't show up was he had COVID. I had been around him so I should have been told. Not the mention he brought his dad and son out and none of them were wearing masks. *Found beer cans in the trailer that was used for the shingles, so drinking was being done on the job. *Wasn't even told when our appt was. I text supervisor to check on this and he said that he had us set up for a date that didn't even work for us, so we had to reschedule. *Truck shows up at our house the Thursday before our appt. and dropped of shingles, we were ever told anything about this so lucky we were home. *We had to be the communication between the insurance company and roofing company due to one party or both not communication back. *General lack of concern by the Supervisor and Owner. No to mention we are now going on over a year of dealing with this.
