Everyone always told me what good care they received there, and I can attest to that. From the first day that she arrived they took great care of her, attending to her every need. I am so thankful to the many people that work at the Eastern Star Home for all the care they gave to my mom, the professional and loving way they took care of mom and myself. They showed Mom and my family such compassion that is helped my family at this difficult time. Since filled out everything online the first time in the office process was a breeze. I was seen by Jamie who performed a range of mobility on me and gave me her assessment on me. Most seem to be exactly what I was feeling. Was slightly disappointed that therapy was not today and just the assessment only which took 15 mins. With the co-pay per visit I expected to get started today. But had to make an appointment for next week. Overall I look forward to the experience and loosening up the arthritis within.

Her daughter and I were there approx 4:50 p.m. We smelled an odor and saw her mother was wet. Nurse asked us to give her approx 15 minutes and she would come to check her out. Did not happen. We waited another hour before we decided to clean her up ourselves. No linens in room so I went in search of a linen cart. As we were cleaning Mary up, we found her in feces and urine. As we were finishing up two women came into the room to clean Mary up. They were dressed in gowns, gloves and masks. One said to us "you know she is in isolation, don't you"? A nurse supervisor had come into the room to post signs about laundry and a sign on the door to stop in the nurse's station before coming into the room. NEVER said a thing about isolation. The original nurse also never said anything. After we got over our shock, we spoke to the nurse supervisor and it was explained to us that it is precautionary til checked out. Meanwhile dinner had been brought in and Mary's daughter fed her otherwise, t he food would have sat on the tray getting cold as Mary could not feed herself at this time. The woman who brought in the food, nurse supervisor nor the original nurse never were gowned/gloved at any time while in the room. Very bad beginning in this experience.

My father was placed here after a broken back confirmed by hosptial. He was 99 years old. He was…read moreplaced in a room, dark, TV with one channel, no water or pitcher in sight upon first visit. I KNEW this was not for him. (unfortunately I have no POA to move him). I went often and one night three aids came into his room, closed the door behind them and had a weighing contraption they proceeded to hook him up to. I said "He has a broken back", their reply it will only take a second. They put a NET on it and proceeded to lift him. He started screaming "Stop, please stop" at which time I stepped in and stopped what they were doing as clearly this was causing excrutiating pain. I unhooked the equipment and told them to get out after mandhandling my father. I had to find a nurse (none around) and instruct that is NEVER to happen again. He died in their care three days after that catastrophic event while I sat with him, no morphine in sight. 8 hours without any morphine, none on the premise. I called Hospice three times, it never arrived and he passed a terrible death 8 hours later while I sat helpless and held his hand. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. The care is terrible, communication worse and its not a place for someone if they cannot advocate for themselves.

They are very gentle, kind, friendly, patient and helpful as long as you trust the process. They treat the outpatient therapy just like they treat the patients that live there from my observation . They are also are very professional and are like angels working in there to get us back to a new normal. If you only understand what the people go through as in patient to get to where we are today. This place should all five stars, therapist have for us you would give everybody a five star display should be on the news because of how great they are and the jobs they do I can speak for myself. I've seen over 20 of us that came in and left better than I expected, I was using a wheelchairs when I first got there, it was painful and hard to walk more than four steps!!! I couldn't walk and then I got to a place where I bought a cane and practiced with it, I actually can us a cane at any time but after my fall I'm afraid so I use my walker not because I can't walk but because it gives me stability. After 20 years of four different back surgeries, I had a lower lumbar fusion with some complications that were extremely painful. I ended up being shipped off to Care 1 up the road and found myself back in the ER in less than 12 hours. I'm not going to trash the other place but I'm only going to say that I've finally ended up in the right place! I can't say enough good things for every single individual at ARI! They were attentive, respectful and extremely caring... it is very rare to find all of that in one place!
