We stayed 4 nights in late October and overall it was good. But if you can, stay on the 5th floor…read moreand with queen beds. There is a nice lounge up there. They don't seem to have king sheets or mattress pads! We asked for some when we saw the strained set in our first room. We didn't want them to pop off and leave us sleeping on a public mattress. Gross! We were given a second set of queen-sized. So we asked to be moved to a double-queen room. A minor inconvenience. The breakfast is decent and the dining area is pleasant and uncrowded. There doesn't seem to be any heater keeping the food warm. Multiple times the eggs and sausages were cold = health hazard. Multiple times the food ran empty. I ate the grits but a friend from AZ said that they were old and watery. Coffee was cold outside of breakfast hours. The place was fairly clean but some of the towels did not smell good. There was some mildew in the shower. The pool looked gross to me but not others. There was no access to the outdoor seating area, and the chairs there were mildewed. Landscaping on-site was attractive. But around the hotel is the highway, an empty field, and a large fireworks store. There are NO restaurants nearby. The people at the front desk were accommodating but not especially friendly. 75% of the time, the front desk was empty. Check-in was slow. We had to ask for the Hilton Honors water and snack. The rooms are spacious and the shower water good, though slow to warm up. Our first room had a glass shower stall and few towels. The 5th floor room had a tub w shower curtain and ample towels. I don't know if that was intentional. Parking was good. We were told there is a laundry room on second floor but we did not use it.

Finding the breakfast area was interesting, but totally understandable as they work to complete construction. If I were to nitpick, I'd mention the totally-floppy sink faucet. Not sure if I liked the many ladybugs on my ceiling or not, but it certainly added personality, and some people think they're good luck.

Nice outdoor bar. The rooms are also very nice. There were 8 of us for the RTJ Golf Trail. Great location. Bed was comfortable. Of the 3 RTJ trail hotels we stayed at, this was the best. As per the pic, I really liked the exercise areas. They had one side as the fitness room for cycle, treadmill, elliptical and other side for strength training. Unfortunately we were only there for 1 night.

We had a one bedroom suite with a double balcony overlooking one of the golf course holes. The king size bed in this room is one of the most comfortable beds that I've experienced in a Marriott property, And I average about 90-100 nights in Marriott properties per year. For the most part, the staff experience was friendly and very welcoming. Check in experience was exceptional, as was most of the bar and restaurant service. I did not get to experience the golf courses, but plan to come back and target that is a priority. Both the pool bar and hotel bar staff were excellent, professional, and very friendly. The options at both were very good. The Caesar salad at the pool bar was exceptional and the flatbread pizza was pretty good as well. The restaurant breakfast on my first morning was absolutely exceptional both in options, quality, taste and service. The biscuit bar with tomato gravy, sausage, gravy, and shrimp étouffée as options was awesome. Unfortunately, my second morning experience was not as pleasant. Different server with just poor quality service and attitude overall and the same hot foods that I enjoyed the day before or somehow lukewarm. The third morning that I went down for breakfast, it appeared there was a long line, and the hostess was the same server as I had on day, two, and appeared to be working service as well. Long story, short, I came back one more time and there was still a line about 30 minutes later so I just gave up on breakfast. I love the fact that this property has planned activities as well. They were even serving up s'mores on certain nights, had live music and other activities throughout the afternoons. Although we did not go to most of the activities, the fact that they were offered and explained was something I haven't seen it very many properties.
