BED BUGS in one room. Roaches in the other 2 rooms. Had to send those in the bed bug room to another motel. Desk clerk was no help at all. Not even to change the room. Ridiculous! Told me to talk to manager in morning. About bed bugs. DO NOT BOOK A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ROOM, btw! THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE, THEY SAY, ALTHOUGH IT WAS CONFIRMED AS BOOKED. Much better experience than I expected. The room was very clean and smelled good. Not enough charging ports. Lamps are rusted. Real breakfast everyday sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereals, juice, tea coffee and everything was good and fresh. Employees seem to love their job. It was dirty, noisy, and scary. We found a soiled pair of men's underwear in the bathroom. The walls and linen were dirty and unsightly. We had street noise and the neighbors made us nervous. I am not sure, but we felt there may have been drug dealings going on. We were afraid to leave our room to get ice. The staff was not receptive to our concerns, nor were they helpful. read more

Our school stayed it this inn for 1 night and all we can say is NEVER AGAIN. There were stink bugs in rooms, ants in bathrooms, my tv didnt work and on top of that had stains all over it. The water was absolutely disgusting. Its almost slimy its like youll feel like so is still on your body but its not it was awful. The breakfast was disgusting also. This place was cheap and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was hot, big, and good. My only reason for giving it only 3 stars was that the room was not clean. That's a big deal for a hotel! The mirror was filthy and had hair stuck all over it. I ran a cup of water through the coffee maker before I made coffee and a bug came out in the cup. The carpet was FILTHY. My kids came in and took their shoes off and within a few minutes both of their feet were solid black! Not exaggerating! I made them wear shoes when they Wales around for the rest of the night. Maybe it just needs to be updated, maybe they need to hire new cleaning people, but this place would be a nice hotel if those things were fixed. It's a shame. read more

First off, do not book a room at this Quality Inn because it needs to be demolished. This Quality in has turned into a "no tell Motel" The pictures on the web page are not correct. The pictures of the front side of the building is accurate. The pictures of the pool are not up to date there is a totally different pool with no hot tub. The room pictures must have been taken years ago because the rooms are rundown at this time. The Bathrooms are terrible with rigged plumbing. The tubs are worn out. The ceilings in the bathrooms had peeling paint and unfinished repair work. The Walls and headboards had gouges and marks all over them. The chairs had stains all over them. The T.V. cable was not online. The only update to the rooms was new carpet. When I tried to exit the room, the door handle came off in my hand. I had that fixed by the maintenance man. Friday night was loud. There were young men "partying" out side fir several hours after dark. The room behind ours had a sex party going with all the noises you can imagine. After trying to ignore the noise for two hours, I banged on the wall and the noise stopped. The young men went to bed or left sometime after midnight. Saturday night was quiet. My daughter discovered cockroaches in her room just before checking out after day two. The good things at this Motel were the friendly Desk Clerks and Cleaning Crew. Complimentary breakfast was OK. The owner must be just trying to run this place into the ground. I really think the Facilities are beyond a good remodel and the buildings just need to be demolished. When a motel starts to attract the bad elements then it's time to turn the business around or close the doors for good. The other reviews are probably accurate so don't disregard them. We should have stayed in the Motel 6 next door which had much better rooms. I went over there to see what condition it was in and it was in much better condition than the Quality Inn. read more

So it's 8:26pm and my cable has been out going on an hour. I called front desk from my cell phone because the room phone doesn't work. When I asked if there is a cable outage or just the room she didn't answer (I don't know would've been better than ignoring) but responded I could switch rooms or maintenance man can come in the morning. Considering I just showered and it's humid out, don't feel like moving especially if the problem is the cable company. What would be the point?! Anyway, you get what you pay (or don't pay) for! The exterior of the hotel needs an overhaul. Pressure wash the outside and stairs if nothing else. Pleasant surprise, my room was nice. Clean. Looked like the pic I saw. The pool looks inviting but I don't feel like dealing with my hair after. If you just need a place to sleep (cause tv watching is hit or miss), this place will do. read more

With the price we paid for this hotel we weren't expecting a luxury suite. The sign outside advertises comfy beds. Truthfully, the bed was comfy and there were many other reasons we were very satisfied with our visit. -The room was nice and spacious. There was good light. -The breakfast buffet is legit a full complimentary buffet - eggs, waffles, bagels, sausage and biscuits, danishes, etc etc. It was delicious. The attendants were very sweet. -The gentleman at the desk who took care of us - Kjenki - was patient, friendly, and funny. He made us feel right at home. He accommodated our requests and never made us feel we were troubling him. Truthfully, the entire staff was great. Next time I come to Troy I am hoping for the same room in the same hotel. I stayed here a few years ago and it seemed ok. Not this time. The beds are like sleeping like rocks. The toilet is not like a residential toilet. You would expect to see this type of toilet at a rest area on the highway, not in a hotel room. While not overly crowded, the shower only gets to lukewarm at best. My first night resulted in a cold shower. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. The sheets on both beds had either blood stains or rust stains on them. The sheets were not replaced despite calling the front desk. Four people and they only had two doubled beds. The breakfast was ok, coffee was hot. This Quality Inn is more motel than hotel, with exterior doors that allow you to park right outside your room and prices as low as under $60. As such, I judge this Quality Inn as a motel, not a hotel. The prices were low, and my bed seemed clean. My room was quiet and I couldn't hear my neighbors even though they were completely sold out due to graduation and a softball tournament. The staff was friendly, and had cupcakes and water bottles to celebrate people their for graduation which I thought was a considerate touch. The only cleanliness issues that stood out to me about the room was the carpet was obviously very old and was coming up in the corners, and the grout in the bathroom was dirty and could use a deep clean. I did not eat the breakfast, but I did take a look at it on my way out and it looked like typical Quality Inn breakfast fare and coffee. This is not a luxury hotel, but fine for an overnight in Troy, and convenient to anywhere you may need to go there. read more

Pleasantly surprised. We stayed overnight on our way to the beach. Our room #123 was clean, large and comfortable, met all of our needs. The hot buffet breakfast was better than most. The reception staff was very nice and professional. Honoring our request for a ground level room close to the front was a plus. Yes, the hotel is old, outdated exterior, but we were happy with our stay from the inside. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. read more

We stayed over night because we had a funeral the next morning in Troy and live 5 hours away. And we were not expecting a great hotel but at least decent. We had joining rooms with my uncle, and our door wouldn't even open to their room. That night my brother asked to make coffee and the coffee pot had old coffee in it that had been sitting in there a good while because the top had mold on it. The main door in my uncles room on the inside feel off during our stay twice. The front desk clerk when we checked in and out were extremely happy and friendly. Falsely Accused of Theft! I stayed here while in Troy for a short business trip. This is the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. I had a reservation for 3 nights and could only bear to stay one night, due to the quality of the room. Complaints: -Upon arrival, I noticed that the room had no smoke detector, that the control knobs for the air conditioner were missing (presumably to prevent pesky guests from driving up the electrical bill), and that the in-room fridge had all sorts of colorful mold growing around the door seal. -The outdoor pool was a disgusting algae pit; the water was so green and cloudy that you couldn't see more than 6 inches below the surface. -The next morning when I went to take a shower, I found that there were no towels in the room (the manager later tried to charge me for the towels that I had to go pick up from the front desk) -After work that day, I was able to find a room in another hotel, so I checked out in the afternoon but was still charged for the 2nd night. I tried to dispute this or reduce it to a late checkout fee (which I would have been fine with), but the manager was already gone for the day. -When I returned the next day to dispute the charge, the manager kept me waiting for 45 minutes before accusing me of stealing the towels AS WELL AS THE MATTRESS PAD, in apparent retaliation for cutting my stay short. -They refused to reimburse me for the night that I didn't stay, or to reduce the amount to a late checkout fee, which I would have been fine with. They dropped the towel charge, but insist that I stole their grungy mattress pad. I have heard horror stories of hotels using this "revenue enhancement" scam, but never experienced it firsthand. I will never stay in a Quality Inn again. read more

The room I stayed in was not clean. There was an old, dirty washcloth that hung on the shower rod. The entire toilet and tub was dirty. No coffee pot. My bed was comfortable but the bed my mother slept in squeak whenever she moved. And the swimming pool is not like the picture. There was no water in the pool. We left to get breakfast and when we came back someone had come in and took the towels and wash clothes. There were also a dirty cup left in the night stand drawer. read more

By far the worst place I ever went. Arrogant Receptionist took a long time recording everything on my Drivers License, then used my Debit card. I asked for a receipt so as to verify the amount. She said I would get a receipt when I checked out only. I was given room 102 in the back section. Only one other car in the front or back and that was in room 101 next to mine. The people in 101 came and went several times, then a small very shady looking group were standing just outside my door for a while. I contacted a cousin who said she had heard Quality Inn on 231 had been closed. I returned to the front desk and told a different Receptionist about the lack of patrons, the fact that I heard they were closed and I was checking out for safety reasons. She gave me a receipt without the checkout date on it. I called their National Customer Service and reported them after I checked in at the Courtyard. Lost my money. read more

FYI... Never, ever stay at the Quality Inn in Troy. If you know me, then you know that I always look at the bright side of things. However, the only silver lining that I can find about this place is that the beds are comfortable and they have hot water. My heater in my room didn't work last night, the phone was broken do I couldn't call the front desk (tried using my cell but it always went to the fax), they were out of blankets and comforters (even though all of the other rooms had comforters). Even though I wore long sleeves, long pants, thick socks, and my coat to bed last night, my roomie and I froze all night. The front desk tonight was not interested that it is going to be 39 degrees by 5am and she doesn't have any warm blankets for me. I asked her to call the manager. She did. The manager said that they don't have any blankets. Hmmmmm... Isn't it time that they go to Walmart and buy one???? I can't leave this hotel and go somewhere else. All other hotels are full. And I'm not leaving all of the other kids on this field trip and abandon my chaperone duties. On top of all of that one of our kids' room's door won't lock. So we had to make other arrangements for them. This is worse than motel 6!!!!!!!! The front desk doesn't even pretend to try to help!!! Ugh!!! read more
