First of all I rarely write bad reviews but his is something people need to know before booking a room in this hotel. I don't think I have ever been so shocked and disturbed by what I found at the Quality Inn hotel in Thermopolis, WY. For starters we were given a smoking room, My wife nor I are smokers so why the booking automatically defaulted to a smoking room is beyond me. When we got into the room it smelled like a wet ashtray and dingy. I had to pay a $15 charge to change to a none smoking room. At first look the carpets were visibly dirty. When I turned down one of the queen beds, is when I found multiple stains on the duvet. There was a large light yellow stain alone with multiple red stains all over the duvet. Also along the edge there was what looked like a dirt ring around a collar. I could understand a small stain that may have been over looked but this was beyond an oversight. There were stains on the mattress cover. The other queen bed had sheets that were in satisfactory condition. I opened the microwave to heat water and found food that was beyond rotten and more like petrified left by a prior guest. It definitely had been in there for a while. We are doing road trips throughout the US and have staying in quite a few hotels and Airbnbs along the way. Virtually all have been clean and in good condition. Some were worn showing their age and are ready for a renovation but were clean. But this is by far the worst I have ever seen. If you're visiting Thermopolis please do not stay here. This was our first time using Choice Hotels and a Quality Inn and will be our last time. read more

This was my first time in Thermopolis. The room was dirty. Needed to be vacuumed; previous occupants' nail clippings all over the floor, piles of dirt on the floor, refrigerator was dirty inside, microwave was dirty. There had been coffee spilled in the pool area and food left on the side of the hot tub and for 5 days it sat uncleaned. Ants were all over the pool area. I was very disappointed. Went on a two week road trip around Wyoming and South Dakota. Stayed at many motels along the way and I really do not remember a great deal about this one except the extraordinary "ABOVE AND BEYOND" service by Carl. My daughter left her brand new iPad in the room and Carl texted me the next day to let us know it was found. We were already a hundred or so miles away, however Carl said he could drop it off in Cody, Wy which we were staying only about 20 miles from there. Who does that kind of thing any more! read more

The chair in the hotel room has stains all over it, the carpet has so many stains we are keeping our shoes on, you cannot shut the bathroom door because the door hits the shower curtain rod, the sheets have stains on them and are turned inside out making us think that maybe they were just taken off, turned inside out, and put back on. We had to go to the local dollar tree and buy $40 worth of blankets and pillowcases in order to feel like we're sleeping on something clean. Very very disappointed! The staff is helpful to the extreme that the bartender hadn't seen that the front desk employee had acknowledged me when I arrived and was going to be with me shortly that he came through the lobby to start checking me in. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfy. Ironing board. Bottled waters. Hair Dryer. Mini refrigerator motor was a little louder than I am used to but it had a large freezer compartment. Exterior key entry broken which initially had me uneasy. Room did have a slight musty smell. read more

We made our reservation through Priceline (~$85) but when we went to check in they didn't have our information. Luckily they had rooms, but what we had to go through in order to resolve this was beyond what I would deem reasonable, customer-centered service. The front desk person was extremely rude. She yelled at our children for playing with the rotating lid trash can. She acted extremely disinterested and was generally unhelpful after giving her the requested information. Priceline was equally unhelpful, and it took us about 2 hours to finally get our rooms. The room2 were ok, but the key card entry system on the side of the building was busted. The breakfast was terrible. The only redeeming thing about breakfast was the mini-Belgian waffle maker. The location is on the southern end of town, not walking distance to anything. "Downtown" is about 1.5 miles away and the hot springs are about 2.5. read more

Very disappointed. Don't stay here. We checked into our room but was not sure it had been cleaned so they gave us an upgrade to a larger room. Back door did not lock (security issue). Could not get into the gym (neither could the quality inn staff). Hot tub was closed (it looked really dirty). Breakfast was ok until I saw the front desk clerk putting the new sausage patties in the serving container with his hands (no gloves). read more

I made a reservation via Expedia more than a month out. I had to cancel and change the reservation to a different set of days. Now the Quality Inn refuses to refund the original charges. DON'T reserve here if you change to a different set of days they refuse to refund the money when the dates are more than a month out! NOT VERY CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED!!! I have canceled all reservations I had made for this establishment. I am sure they will not respond based on many of the other reviews I have read on sites other than Yelp. They don't care if they lose business because they are crooks. read more

One word ..... Disgusting. I can't believe we paid this much money for this gross room. Outlets are falling out of the wall. The shower has mold in it. The toilet is dirty and has dark hairs on the rim. The ac doesn't work and the glass in our window is broken. Yuck. Maybe this is somebody's idea of acceptable lodging but not mine. Did I mention that this cost us a small fortune? Wish I could give it less than 1 star. Do NOT stay here. read more

Bunk Beds! Why don't more motels do this? My son and I were able to rent one room with a queen for each of us and bunk beds for the two children. staff is friendly, kids had a great time in the pool. Great for a family since there is also a washer and dryer. Stayed 4 nights and was very pleased. Not luxe of course but clean and safe. This hotel is awful!!! The pool looks like it's sinking into the ground, the hot tub is terrible, the ceiling is falling apart, the pool rom itself is filthy, there's a food room connected to it, the door was open and there was what appeared to be blood on the floor..... our room was decent, but the A/C unit clicked uncontrollably the hotel itself smells like cigarette smoke BUT Darline at the front desk was very pleasant !!!! read more

Avoid this stop if you can the front desk staff less then friendly probably over worked since she was doing laundry when we arrived and ever-time i came looking the pool was by appointment only (do to covid) so we made an appointment for the grand kids the first thing i noticed was the hand rail for entry was snapped off and rusted the water was very cloudy and for what ever reason the water was higher on one side then the other the hot tub was closed with nasty looking water in it the nite lock on our room door was gone the safety lock wouldnt work and if you dont pull hard the door wont close the whole building was musty breakast is served in the bar area everything was frozen you had to take it back to your room no drinks like juice or milk read more

We are on a long motorcycle vacation. one of the reasons we chose this motel was the jacuzzi. I looked at reviews on yelp and Travelocity. Both said the jacuzzi had problems, but the dates were at the beginning of the summer. I phoned the motel ahead of check in and they said the jacuzzi was working fine. We went to the pool area a couple of hours after check in the jacuzzi didn't work and hadn't worked for awhile. The water was low, no heat and the jets would not pump. I BELIEVE IF YOU ADVERTISE AND TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS SOMETHING WORKS IT HAD BETTER WORK!! This motel needs some good old cleaning , maintenance and management overhaul done. The entry door being all messed up should have alerted me. I won't be going to breakfast here. I have had enough disappointment with this motel. Our group will not booking here next year. read more

The room is ok, the breakfast is unacceptable. Pancake machine broken, run out of egg, coffee, milk, pastries. The staff who handle the breakfast area don't even know how to make coffee, put the ground in the brewer and walk away. Hello, do you know you need to press a start button to brew the coffee. Our cars engine was smoking and we were able to pull into the parking lot before it broke down. The women behind the desk was extremely friendly. She let us and our large dog wait in the lobby by the fire for a couple hours until my father in law came to pick us up. She brought a bowl of water for our dog and offered us coffee and tea. This was a very nice place to stay. TV, extra towels in the room, outstanding WIFi for the area. Breakfast was decent with about the same offerings as most of the places we have stayed on this trip. Lobby has coffee, iced tea and iced water 24 hours. You could tell the Staff wanted to make your stay pleasant both for us and others staying here by their want to help approach. There is a comfortable lounge for adults and a pool for children and adults. read more

This place is a dump. The whole motel smells of cigarette smoke. The lock was broken on the exterior door leading to our room and the security lock in the room was broken too. Everything is worn out. Breakfast was terrible. The eggs (?) Looked like eggs but didn't taste like them. I could go on but you get the picture. This is a place to avoid. read more
