Bathroom door hits the shower curtain rod so you can't shut the door.

The chair in the hotel room has stains all over it, the carpet has so many stains we are keeping our shoes on, you cannot shut the bathroom door because the door hits the shower curtain rod, the sheets have stains on them and are turned inside out making us think that maybe they were just taken off, turned inside out, and put back on. We had to go to the local dollar tree and buy $40 worth of blankets and pillowcases in order to feel like we're sleeping on something clean. Very very disappointed! We booked this through expedia.com and wish we had chosen a different hotel.

Decent place. Nothing special. Pool was a bit rickety. Breakfast was good. Nice place for an apparently average town

I didn't have a chance to enjoy the mineral Jacuzzi because I needed to get to bed. I also was up and out the door before I could sample the free continental breakfast. This was a business trip so time was limited but I do plan a personal visit so I can enjoy the amenities and look around Thermopolis.

The bonus is the hot tub - I'm not sure it's spring fed but it is smoking waters and sulphur rich. On this particular night, the tub closed at 11, and I had the entire thing to myself on a beautifully cool Wyoming night. The tub is not natural, and it feels like most other non-publicly owned tubs in Hot Springs Park. It's run down but probably to code and safe enough. It's not luxury, but after a day in the car, I'll take it. It's a wonderful recovery. While here, I'll definitely hit the state-owned facility in the morning. If I required a nicer hotel, I'd go with the Best Western. Smaller tub, no pets, but very nice rooms in a historic building. As for dog walks - a few spins around the park, a walk in the sulphur terraces or along the river are a nice way to relax and stretch.

It is a relic of a past era, when by-ways and highways were the thing -- no fast moving interstates that took you to big towns and modern multiple-story hotels -- but instead on an adventure through small towns and interacting with the locals. Motels were the thing before hotels. There's something about driving up to the door of your room at a one-story building. The rooms are clean, big (much more than a modern room), but have been modernized with flat screen tvs, wireless, coffee makers. microwave, mini-fridge, and modern lighting. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathroom is big with old-style tile floors. The most interesting thing was the swamp-cooler air conditioner. I didn't know those were a thing in a motel or a hotel, but geez -- did it crank out the cold air. That might have been why I didn't hear any noise from the outside or the rooms next door, though. Rainbow is a easy walk to the state park and a slightly longer, but still do-able walk to the downtown. The manager welcomes all guests, walks them to their room, makes sure the key works, and that the room is ready. Oh, and if you don't know how to operate the a/c, will show you how easy it is and remind you to keep a window open to make the cooler work properly. Had it not been for the tv and coffee maker, I would have believed I'd entered a backward time warp. I'm glad I took a chance on this hotel.
