Bathroom door hits the shower curtain rod so you can't shut the door.

The chair in the hotel room has stains all over it, the carpet has so many stains we are keeping our shoes on, you cannot shut the bathroom door because the door hits the shower curtain rod, the sheets have stains on them and are turned inside out making us think that maybe they were just taken off, turned inside out, and put back on. We had to go to the local dollar tree and buy $40 worth of blankets and pillowcases in order to feel like we're sleeping on something clean. Very very disappointed! We booked this through expedia.com and wish we had chosen a different hotel.

Decent place. Nothing special. Pool was a bit rickety. Breakfast was good. Nice place for an apparently average town

It was spacious, and the bathroom must've been recently renovated and had all the modern necessities. The bed was quite comfortable. Our second story view was wonderful, from both the front and the back of the room. Having the hotel right in the Hot Springs Park is a real plus, as the park is beautiful and made for pleasant walks. Our biggest issue is the lack of proper air conditioning in some of the rooms. We had family in other rooms and one of them had to suffer through being hot with no A/C for 3 of 4 nights. The smell from the hotel's mineral spring hot tub is sometimes unbearable. Sometimes it stinks to high heaven, and other time seems to not smell at all. A good tip would be to bring a candle for your room. The staff was at times ambivalent. An example would be them making us wait to check in. We arrived only 20 minutes before the 4PM check-in time, and were told as a matter of policy they won't check anyone in before 4PM. A seemingly silly policy (if it's even a real thing) because it caused a needless line of folks waiting to check in at 4. The evening cookies were wonderful, but the breakfast was tasteless. Next time in Thermopolis, we would try real hard to stay somewhere else. Best of luck to you, with regards to this Best Western

The bonus is the hot tub - I'm not sure it's spring fed but it is smoking waters and sulphur rich. On this particular night, the tub closed at 11, and I had the entire thing to myself on a beautifully cool Wyoming night. The tub is not natural, and it feels like most other non-publicly owned tubs in Hot Springs Park. It's run down but probably to code and safe enough. It's not luxury, but after a day in the car, I'll take it. It's a wonderful recovery. While here, I'll definitely hit the state-owned facility in the morning. If I required a nicer hotel, I'd go with the Best Western. Smaller tub, no pets, but very nice rooms in a historic building. As for dog walks - a few spins around the park, a walk in the sulphur terraces or along the river are a nice way to relax and stretch.

The women that own it are super nice and very accommodating. We asked for ice and she went to her own freezer to give us some. The place has been remodeled and the rooms are really clean. The bed was comfortable, the towels fresh, and the place is quiet (except for some screaming kids next to my buddies room) but I wasn't affected. We mentioned it to one of the other ladies and she was apologetic and told us next time she'd put us away from the families. They have a nice grassy area out front with a bbq you can use. Overall, a great experience and we'll definitely be back! Thanks for your hospitality!

She is super nice. After a dinner at the local brewery, I stoped by the office to ask for some ice, and the owner was also exceptionally kind. These are hard working folks trying to make a living there. They've got a great little motel, and it is clean and exactly what a traveler needs. We've been on the road for 2000+ miles, and Thermopolis was just a stop on our way to the Tetons. This little town has been nothing but kind to us. I always rate a place by stating if I would come back. This motel? Absolutely.

Pros/ reasons to stay: *Easily the cleanest "Inn" within Thermopolis WY. *Within the center of town - access to groceries and other supplies is very convenient. *Student friendly pricing. Cons/ reasons to rest else where: *Not pleasant for those who don't diffuse Febreeze plugins throughout their home year round. An instant headache and instantly scent permeated clothes. Not even opening ALL the windows AND the door helped get the stench out. *Half the light bulbs are burnt out. I think this is because they are trying to save on electricity but come on... *The customary note signed by the cleaning lady is purely for appearances. * THE BEDDING WAS NOT REPLACED AFTER THE LAST TENANT. HOLY SHIT. Noticeably slept in sheets and HAIR covered blankets. There was SO MUCH HAIR that whoever stayed previously was either a shedding Sasquatch or a...it had to have been Sasquatch. *Broken furniture. *Broken blinds. *Weird stains. Side Note: The room that was originally given stank of dog pee that was left to soak into the carpet. Right next to the bed. Unmistakably dog pee. Wowza! If you have to: *Walk over to Family Dollar and buy cleaning supplies to wipe down all of the surfaces. *Keep your shoes on. *Come with your own bedding and lightbulbs. *Tylenol for the Febreeze headache. *Don't have to.

It is a relic of a past era, when by-ways and highways were the thing -- no fast moving interstates that took you to big towns and modern multiple-story hotels -- but instead on an adventure through small towns and interacting with the locals. Motels were the thing before hotels. There's something about driving up to the door of your room at a one-story building. The rooms are clean, big (much more than a modern room), but have been modernized with flat screen tvs, wireless, coffee makers. microwave, mini-fridge, and modern lighting. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathroom is big with old-style tile floors. The most interesting thing was the swamp-cooler air conditioner. I didn't know those were a thing in a motel or a hotel, but geez -- did it crank out the cold air. That might have been why I didn't hear any noise from the outside or the rooms next door, though. Rainbow is a easy walk to the state park and a slightly longer, but still do-able walk to the downtown. The manager welcomes all guests, walks them to their room, makes sure the key works, and that the room is ready. Oh, and if you don't know how to operate the a/c, will show you how easy it is and remind you to keep a window open to make the cooler work properly. Had it not been for the tv and coffee maker, I would have believed I'd entered a backward time warp. I'm glad I took a chance on this hotel.
