The hair of Sasquatch that covered the bedding and slept in sheets.

Let me begin with - you get what you pay for. Literally. I would have liked to give a 2.5 but since that isn't permissible I chose a 2. The mustard background color is also more suiting for this review than the brighter orange . . . Pros/ reasons to stay: *Easily the cleanest "Inn" within Thermopolis WY. *Within the center of town - access to groceries and other supplies is very convenient. *Student friendly pricing. Cons/ reasons to rest else where: *Not pleasant for those who don't diffuse Febreeze plugins throughout their home year round. An instant headache and instantly scent permeated clothes. Not even opening ALL the windows AND the door helped get the stench out. *Half the light bulbs are burnt out. I think this is because they are trying to save on electricity but come on... *The customary note signed by the cleaning lady is purely for appearances. * THE BEDDING WAS NOT REPLACED AFTER THE LAST TENANT. HOLY SHIT. Noticeably slept in sheets and HAIR covered blankets. There was SO MUCH HAIR that whoever stayed previously was either a shedding Sasquatch or a...it had to have been Sasquatch. *Broken furniture. *Broken blinds. *Weird stains. Side Note: The room that was originally given stank of dog pee that was left to soak into the carpet. Right next to the bed. Unmistakably dog pee. Wowza! If you have to: *Walk over to Family Dollar and buy cleaning supplies to wipe down all of the surfaces. *Keep your shoes on. *Come with your own bedding and lightbulbs. *Tylenol for the Febreeze headache. *Don't have to.

We arrived late, and the owners went above and beyond to accommodate our arrival and were always very easy to reach by phone and email. Adorable room with an outdoorsy rural theme, comfortable bed and pillows, and of course, clean! Check out time is a little earlier than most places at 10 am, but there's some cute places to grab breakfast downtown- up and at 'em! They also have a complimentary breakfast/snack section, you can bet I grabbed those Doritos in a heartbeat. Pets welcome at a very modest charge! I believe it was $10 more a night.

Super-cute rustic themed hotel. Carved bears hang all over the railings to greet visitors and the rooms have pretty carved wooden furniture and cowboy art on the walls. Overall, a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay.

What an awesome place to stay! From the outside it looks so rustic and homey. The staff is very sweet and welcoming, they helped us with places to go see. The room was clean. We had a queen bed, and it was a great nights sleep! You could have fit several people in the room we stayed in with two queen beds. I loved all the antlers and carving bears. We stayed in a room with a new bathroom. They are very well done and look AMAZING!! It is the best place in Thermopolis to stay for the price!

“The rooms are decked out with outdoorsy/Wyoming/Elk/hunting-dog accommodations and knick-knacks, and are plenty warm (which is an important thing in Wyoming).”

I didn't have a chance to enjoy the mineral Jacuzzi because I needed to get to bed. I also was up and out the door before I could sample the free continental breakfast. The bonus is the hot tub - I'm not sure it's spring fed but it is smoking waters and sulphur rich. On this particular night, the tub closed at 11, and I had the entire thing to myself on a beautifully cool Wyoming night. The tub is not natural, and it feels like most other non-publicly owned tubs in Hot Springs Park. It's run down but probably to code and safe enough. It's not luxury, but after a day in the car, I'll take it. It's a wonderful recovery. While here, I'll definitely hit the state-owned facility in the morning. If I required a nicer hotel, I'd go with the Best Western. Smaller tub, no pets, but very nice rooms in a historic building. As for dog walks - a few spins around the park, a walk in the sulphur terraces or along the river are a nice way to relax and stretch.

First of all I rarely write bad reviews but his is something people need to know before booking a…read moreroom in this hotel. I don't think I have ever been so shocked and disturbed by what I found at the Quality Inn hotel in Thermopolis, WY. For starters we were given a smoking room, My wife nor I are smokers so why the booking automatically defaulted to a smoking room is beyond me. When we got into the room it smelled like a wet ashtray and dingy. I had to pay a $15 charge to change to a none smoking room. At first look the carpets were visibly dirty. When I turned down one of the queen beds, is when I found multiple stains on the duvet. There was a large light yellow stain alone with multiple red stains all over the duvet. Also along the edge there was what looked like a dirt ring around a collar. I could understand a small stain that may have been over looked but this was beyond an oversight. There were stains on the mattress cover. The other queen bed had sheets that were in satisfactory condition. I opened the microwave to heat water and found food that was beyond rotten and more like petrified left by a prior guest. It definitely had been in there for a while. We are doing road trips throughout the US and have staying in quite a few hotels and Airbnbs along the way. Virtually all have been clean and in good condition. Some were worn showing their age and are ready for a renovation but were clean. But this is by far the worst I have ever seen. If you're visiting Thermopolis please do not stay here. This was our first time using Choice Hotels and a Quality Inn and will be our last time.

This motel is most definitely old school. It'd be easy to pass by this one in search of a more…read moremodern option. I'm glad I didn't. It is a relic of a past era, when by-ways and highways were the thing -- no fast moving interstates that took you to big towns and modern multiple-story hotels -- but instead on an adventure through small towns and interacting with the locals. Motels were the thing before hotels. There's something about driving up to the door of your room at a one-story building. The rooms are clean, big (much more than a modern room), but have been modernized with flat screen tvs, wireless, coffee makers. microwave, mini-fridge, and modern lighting. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathroom is big with old-style tile floors. The most interesting thing was the swamp-cooler air conditioner. I didn't know those were a thing in a motel or a hotel, but geez -- did it crank out the cold air. That might have been why I didn't hear any noise from the outside or the rooms next door, though. Rainbow is a easy walk to the state park and a slightly longer, but still do-able walk to the downtown. The manager welcomes all guests, walks them to their room, makes sure the key works, and that the room is ready. Oh, and if you don't know how to operate the a/c, will show you how easy it is and remind you to keep a window open to make the cooler work properly. Had it not been for the tv and coffee maker, I would have believed I'd entered a backward time warp. I'm glad I took a chance on this hotel.
