At check-in, me and my aunt wanted to switch rooms, because she needed 2 beds and she had a king reserved and I had a double queen reserved and I was by myself. The front desk agent said it was no problem and she put still made sure we were close to the rest of the family. (We were having a family reunion) also they placed all our rooms on the same floor. So we had the floor to us as a family. The 2 social areas on the floor were an added plus, great places to hang out as a group. The rooms are very well maintained and clean, the beds are firm with lots of pillows. All thou the sheets and blankets are a little thin. And the noise level is very quiet. Plus, the view from the balconies and the overlook of the New River is breathtaking. 10/10 for me, me and my whole family highly recommend this place for a great stay!

After driving for hours we needed to rest and we trusted the Hampton Inn name. Nope! The good: Plenty of parking, by a McDonalds, utilizes digital key, offer breakfast and to go breakfast bags, staff are friendly The bad: Carpet is bucking in halls, beds are unbelievably uncomfortable and have that "spring" feeling, mold in bathroom, outdated, dirty This hotel needs a serious makeover! I would not stay here again. Drive the 30 ish minutes to the Hampton Inn in Beckley, WV. Much better.

We stayed in the Black Bear Cabin, and it was everything we hoped for. The cabin's location was ideal: less than 10 minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge, tucked away at the end of a private gravel road, and surrounded by over an acre of rolling mountain meadow (which was ideal for tossing a football with my son). The cabin itself boasts a well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances, a 50" smart TV for our movie nights, a stackable washer and dryer, a wrap-around porch for coffee while watching the fog lift, and even a hot tub to soak away the day's adventures. The cabin had three comfortably furnished bedrooms, featuring a luxurious king in the master with an en suite bath, plus a queen and twin beds in the other rooms, the cabin comfortably accommodated our family. We also enjoyed the rustic charm of the gas fireplace and the modern yet cozy furniture throughout. When we encountered one maintenance issue, the service staff was very responsive and resolved it quickly, keeping our vacation uninterrupted. The cabin's central location made it easy to explore other local attractions like Pie's & Pints, the Escape-A-Torium, the Bridge Walk, and plenty of nearby hikes. We left with lasting memories and a promise to return soon. Country Road Cabins will definitely be our go-to spot on our next visit to the area!

Plus fairy lights going across the entrance, bridge, front porch and back porch the outside of the treehouse I was kinda disappointed at first looking at the outside. Also you all need to rearrange everything because that bathroom was so small and the sink was in the bedroom instead of the bathroom plus the bathroom light switch was in the kitchen?? One of the bathroom doors wouldn't lock. Also when someone is walking on the bridge the whole house shakes. Other than that it was a nice place to stay at for a couple of days!

Just across the bridge from Fayetteville which has everything you need. Centrally located among an amazing amount of outdoor opportunities. The hostel is not staffed. You simply reserve on line and then receive an email with the door code. If you don't receive your email, call before you come or you may be sitting on the front porch for a while The hostel is neat and clean. Clean sheets on the bed. But towels are NOT included. Being your own. One of the fun parts about staying at a hostel is the interesting people you can meet. Usually it is a group of young people on an adventure. But it is a gamble. This time lost. I got Grandma and 4 kids age 7-15. Gma pumped them full of sugar. They were very loud & fought constantly. Gma yelled. So much for the relaxing part of my trip. This is why some hostels have an age restriction and why earplugs are mandatory. Overall it was a great place to stay. I would come again & would recommend it to my friends

This is a hostel indeed, $22.50/night all-inclusive. You book it via paypal after checking the online calendar. In my experience, I didn't see my reservation updated, so I called the listed number to confirm. You should know it's not your typical hostel in that there's not a "lobby" or typical reception area - it's more like a big guest-house - so it took a day or two for them to call me back and let me know that my reservation was confirmed. I arrived late on a Friday night - thankfully they gave me a passcode to get in the door, so there's no such thing as a late arrival cutoff. That said, I pulled up after 11pm to this dark, quiet space, no cars parked there, but a couple of guys across the street outside a building talking a little loudly to each other. The circumstances made me think for a moment, "Did I make the right move coming here?", but I had nothing to worry about. The hostel is huge, a living space that you walk into, with downstairs leading to a couple of shared bunk rooms and bathrooms. It turned out I wasn't alone, as there was one other guest who didn't have a car, but she stayed in one room and I the other, so we had our own rooms for our stay. The bunks are pretty small - if I was laying on my back and lifted my knees I'd hit the bottom of the top mattress - but it was comfortable and I slept well. The upstairs living space has some games and a kitchen with a stocked fridge, to the point that it looks like it may be the owner's personal fridge. I used it to store my water bottles, which was hopefully okay. Incidentally, you can see the whole breakdown of the place via a YouTube video the owner made. It's pretty much as advertised. I really didn't spend much time here beyond sleep, though - there's a veritable bounty of outdoor riches in this land, so I was out the door at 7am both mornings I was here. You can't get much more convenient than here - just north of the bridge. It was interesting that I never met the owner, but I did keep pretty odd hours and she did leave a friendly note for me at the door. I loved my whole weekend in the area, and of course I loved paying $45 for two nights - should I return to this area in the future, I'll stay here without question.

The small RV/pop-up sites are large,clean, and somewhat private. They have gravelEd areas to park, a picnic table, fire ring, and some have a wooden deck. I did not see any of the tent sites. The campground is large and clean. They provide a playground, dog park, and what looks to be a covered gathering area with picnic tables. The bathrooms have stalls and showers and are cleaned daily. The main office has some souvenirs , daily camp gear , ice and firewood for sale. The customer service is the best that I've ever experienced at a campground. All staff were very friendly. They help you back your camper into the spot and deliver and unload purchased firewood to your site. Be aware that you are camping in the mountains, so most sites and the overall area is on an incline. I would definitely stay here again!

The sites are…read morenon-electric, but there is a bathhouse with hot showers and a dishwashing sink, and I had enough Verizon service to stay connected. Seth, the owner, keeps the place in great shape and is quick to respond by phone or text. At $15 per person per night, it is a great value. Fayetteville is just minutes away with excellent local restaurants and shops, and the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and the rest of New River Gorge National Park are an easy drive from the campground.
